When your warm up sketches turn out to be a fully colored piece
I drew some things based on a fantastic fanfic I’ve been reading- it features a super cool goth/punk version of eyeless jack.
As he’s currently my favourite character in the fic, and because I vibe with his aesthetic I felt a mighty need to draw him.
The drawing is based on a chase scene that occurred over the second and third chapters in a subway train.
Eyeless Jack character and story redesign!! (I say redesign but Jack barely has a backstory lmao) LETS GOOO
The year is 1805, setting is middle Europe. Jack is a young, 18 year old aspiring doctor. He's doing medical studies at a small school in his area, and he's progressing amazingly. A grade A student, his teacher adores him. At night, he goes home to his beloved, a man named Shaun. They kiss, and hold each other, and Jack tells all about his studies that day before Shaun tells him all about work at the Leathershop today. They smile, share a drink, and go to bed together. No one knows their secret. They are simply friends who share a room at the local inn. The innkeeper has known them both for years, and talks well of how they are both good, respectable young men who are sure to swoon any young lady who catches their eye. But they only have eyes for each other.
A year into his studies, an illness Jack had suffered extensively from as a child comes back full force, and he is bedridden within three days. Shaun takes time off the Leathershop to care for them, and the innkeeper, a family friend since both of their childhoods, allows them to stay for free. Their friends bring them breads and water and the like as Shaun attempts to nurse him back to health, but the bread does nothing to wane hiss hunger, and he only becomes more ill. He gets pale, and sickly, and can't get up much without black spots overcoming his vision. Shaun scrounges up the coin to hire one of his medical colleagues, and he tells them Jack has a rare disease he's only seen in another foreign place. They ask him to explain.
He tells them Jack has a disease where his body craves blood. Shaun, scared, asks "Is he a vampire?", and the man shakes his head.
"He needs human flesh to eat," he says. "Preferably the kidneys, and the heart. They have the most of what he needs." Jack and Shaun thank him profusely, and he tips his hat at leaves. Shaun looks at his bleary, suffering lover, and decides right then and there that he will not be having Jack die in front of them if there is anything he can do about it.
That night, Shaun dons a heavy cloak and hood, and grabs an old dagger from the back of the inn, slipping out the back door. He finds his victim several streets away, sleeping in an alleyway between an old pub and the old baker's shop that closed down. It's messy, and takes awhile, but he gets them wrapped up and in a bag, and is on his way. He brings them back to Jack, and Jack eats for the first time in weeks.
Shaun continues this over the course of the next 6 weeks, and Jack rapidly recovers, enough so he begins attending school again. He sweeps Shaun off of his feet in the bedroom with a kiss every night, and they become more passionate than ever before. They are so, so deeply in love.
8 months into this endeavor, Shaun is caught bringing a bag of organs into the room. Jack, frantic, says it was his fault--He is a homosexual, and brainwashed Shaun into doing his bidding. Shaun cries out for him desperately as the woman shush and comfort the poor, poor boy. They torture Jack, and burn him at sunset. He cries for Shaun.
A week later, Shaun hears a tap at his inn room window. He slides it open, and Jack is there, smiling at him. He looks so different; his skin is grey and ashen, his eyes are gone, sockets sunken in. He is scared, and twisted just slightly. His hands and feet are charred black and clawed, and his teeth are razor sharp. He looks like an animal. But he also smiles at him so lovingly, so adoringly, and he knows its his Jack. He opens the window, and Jack climbs in. They make love, and as the sun rises, they run away from the inn with just each other and their minimal belongings wrapped up in sacks. Jack wears a heavy cloak and hood, and a mask over his face, and Shaun doesn't let go of his hand as they run.
Years pass. Jack continues his same diet, more ravenously than before. Shaun laughs and kisses his cheek and wipes his face. They share a bed, share the same clothes, share their drinks and their home. They live together long and happy in a house Jack built in the woods, and they are in love.
But Jack doesn't age. He stays the same, all while Shaun slowly gets older and older, slipping away in his grasp. He assures him every year as he gets older that it is okay, but Jack notices the lines in his face get deeper, his frame slump, and his body grow weaker. 49 years later, Jack gives Shaun a final kiss, and cries over his deathbed.
Jack doesn't leave their home for seven months. He stays, grieving. He buried Shaun in their backyard, planted flowers all throughout everywhere for him to enjoy. He is starving, but he won't go.
One day he wakes up and hears noise from the backyard, and goes out to investigate. There is a taggle of drunk men, laughing and slurring their words, and one of them is pissing on a bundle of the flowers. Jack feels enraged. In a blur, he races outside, killing all three men. He eats for the first time in months. He is sated, but not enough, and still angry.
That night, Jack kills all 150 people in the nearby town. He only eats a few of them. He drags more home for later.
Many years pass. He watches the world change, but the people don't. Still the same assholes as before. In 1907, he sneaks onboard a ship set for America and travels across the sea, a locket he had made for Shaun and the cloak Shaun made for him coming with him. He travels America, watching it grow and change. He meets men. He dates men. But none are like Shaun.
One day, fresh after a kill, he is dragging a body through a park when he comes across two teenagers, also covered in blood. Bewildered, they stare at each other, and Jack has no idea what to do or say. Something compels him not to hurt them.
The boy with the smile on his face snorts. "Holy shit. You really fucked him up, huh?" The girl elbows him in the ribs and he grunts, laughing, and she rolls her eyes behind her mask. Jack watches them quietly. They joke a bit more before turning back to him, smiling. They are kind smiles, and he is again bewildered and even flustered. He hasn't had someone look at him as a person for hundreds of years.
"Need a hand with that? What's your name?" He blinks, voice coming out raw, scratchy, garbled.
"Jack." They grin, happily introducing themselves as Jeff and Jane. They help him heft the body up, and walk along with him, chatting him up excitedly. He finds himself smiling as he walks along with them, deciding fleetingly that he might have to stick around America for another little while.
Even if it'll hurt to loose again.

Jack: (notes)
- Human: 6'2", skinny. Short curly chestnut brown hair and ocean blue eyes. Ethnically jewish/british. Reborn: 7'5", still skinny but more muscle. Hair longer, flatter and more black. Eyes are gone and sockets leak with thick, coagulated blood that almost looks black.
- Doesn't talk much, selective mute. Learns sign to talk to his new Teenage Murder Children
- Queer. Doesn't like labels much but exclusively likes men.
- 233 years old (present day 2020.) 226 when he met the kids.
- Still deeply in love with Shaun and holds a ceremony for him once a year on his birthday that the kids now (respectfully) participate in as well.
- Relearning medical studies and patches the kids up when they get hurt
- Post death now actually needs to consume human organs; can eat human food but still needs the organs mixed in. Likes mixing bits of kidney and heart and other bits into normal food. Both Jeff and Jane have now committed accidental cannibalism due to this.
- The original condition was a very very severe iron deficiency. He needed meat and a heady source of iron, and in those times it was often believed blood and organs supplied that.
Ive gotta finish thia someday
Creepypasta headcanons! (im bored and ive been thinking about these for a while):
Jeff is blind, he cut off his own eyelids and without your eyelids your eyes will dry out and shrivel up and you will go blind so therefore he is blind.
EJ is also blind, he maybe now related to a demon but that doesnt bring his eyes back hun.
EJ can see peoples body heat but not what they actually look like.
BEN is terrified of rivers or large streams, not so much lakes.
Jane and sally are basically sisters
Clockwork and toby are friends but nothing more because clock is a lesbian
Hoodie and EJ are the main medics of the group
Liu and jeff are working out their problems slowly but surely
Jane and jeff do not talk to each other.
Slender is basically the dad of the group
EJ and jeff are really good friends because they're both blind and they both like similar music
i dont like his origin story but i do like cannibalistic characters
