WIP Wednesday

I was tagged by @lemonwoodwrites last week, as well as @tociminna and @bladesingerlily! Thanks a bunch, all three of you! Now that I am not hyperfocusing on spreadsheets, first order of business has been a return to my Cyberpunk RED crossover, and I thought I had the perfect bit a few days ago, but then I fumbled another roll and things escalated VERY quickly (I think I have inherited suicidal Gale in his entirety; I have given him nothing but EASY checks without a single success so far, come on dude!). The outcome? Uh, so, he kind of dies in the middle of involuntary brain surgery... It's fine, it passes. His biggest problem is that while his skull is being redecorated (welcome to Night City?!) he's stuck in a dream sequence with a manifestation of his subconscious that is obviously all him, but that has taken on the looks and mannerisms of his presumed-dead Tragic Love Affair (Tav) and is trying to help him deduce what's being done to him. It has not been going well so far, as one might imagine. Here's after he realises he kicked it:

He will have to remember to ask this time: Why, of all things, a cheap poser-bar? It is hardly the sort of establishment he frequents with anything resembling regularity in the first place, and on the few occasions that he does go out, he would never be caught dead in a place this run-down. Not that he's ever really thought about what being stuck in his own mind would look like, of course—but now that he's here, he knows that it is entirely wrong and not at all conducive to facilitating the level of reflection it would seem is expected of him. Surely somewhere cleaner, for starters. 'Thought I told you to remember to breathe, Gale...' Ah. The little miss-know-it-all migraine finished rebooting. Right on cue. 'And what's your point?' he says, donning his best monotone. 'Only that you clearly decided there was more important biz to be done than breathing,' Chevy smirks, as she takes the seat next to his. Gale sighs. However long he flatlined for, it really wasn't long enough. It clearly did wonders for her, though, because she does not lose her cool over his stray thoughts this time. ... He really hates how lovely she looks bathed in the deep red still intruding through the windows, hates how familiar it feels to have her lean in and steal the cigarette burning between his fingers, and most of all, he hates that, in spite of all she's thrown at him tonight, he still can't help but smile. He knows damn well she's just a memory of a memory of a memory, but right now, when she's not all riddles or rage, it is almost like that's really Chevy—and that was never going to leave him unaffected. 'Hmm. No,' he says, unable to stop nostalgia-fuelled playfulness from claiming him, 'no, that doesn't sound like something I'd do.' Little does he know, as he leans his elbow on the scratched counter in friendly anticipation, that he chose wrong. Again. Peace-time is over between them, and the end is announced proudly with a shard of ice straight to the gut: 'Yet here we are, suffocating on your self-righteousness.'

My GM once gave me a Mr Studd Draconic 3000 when I asked him “Is there any items that can help my fixer to track the person”. So my characters did a selfie with it. We totally forgot about this side quest but this selfie lives as a piece of lore now and forever. It’s also ended up to be on digital photo frame on a nightstand of our medtech, so at the end I NEEDED to draw this

This is the first proper layout I'm proud enough of. I'll be sharing a handful more in the future, but here we are for now! Made as an exercise to learn how to use InDesign, this is an alternative character sheet for the Cyberpunk RED TRPG. I'm pretty happy with it! Its goal is to give players with a bit more experience a slightly more compact sheet and removing a little bit of the pretty fluff from the original (which I still adore, it's great). It's still heavily stylized, but I did my best to make sections such as the Lifepath and Skills sections smaller.
