👌 Another lockdown, another cooking level up acquired: Home grown, home made, crab apple jelly! 🍎 And super simple too! 💫 Rinse and halve the apples, and remove any stems 💫 Cover with water and 1/2 a squeezed lemon in pot and boil until apples are soft (~20-30min) 💫 Strain through cloth for several hours until you have a collection of the pure liquid - feel free to squeeze the leftovers out, but just know your jelly won't be as clear if you do this! 💫 Pour liquid back into the pot and flash boil, adding sugar and stirring thoroughly so it's fully incorporated 💫 Let it bubble away until it gets to the "setting" stage - this takes about five minutes, and you can test a drop or two on a cold plate to see if the mix is done! 💫 Carefully pour into glass and let cool 💭 Most recipes call for 1 litre of liquid to 600g of sugar, but I reduced this as that's far too sweet in my opinion. We had about 350ml of crab apple liquid, and used ~150g of sugar which worked just fine! Have you made jelly before??
