Thanks to 🍸 @lelabbo • • • • • Pears of Gold⁣ ⁣ I tried to find the English equivalent of this small and creamy pear which is called Akca Pear in Turkish but I couldn’t find it. From some sources, I learnt that it is a local type. If anybody knows it, please let me know. I guess everyone knows that pear and ginger have an aromatic match. Considering the creamy texture of this pear, I wanted to make a cognac based cocktail, like a twist on a sidecar. A small touch of Calvados and here comes a delicious cocktail.⁣ ⁣ Pears of Gold⁣ ⁣ 40 ml cognac (@hennessy)⁣ 20 ml Grand Marnier (@grandmarnierofficial)⁣ 10 ml Calvados⁣ 15 ml ginger cordial (@inspire.cocktail.lab)⁣ 20 ml lemon juice⁣ 2 Akca pears⁣ Egg white⁣ ⁣ Remove the core of the pears and muddle in a shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and first dry shake. Add ice and shake again. Double strain into an ice-filled glass Garnish with a small pear. ⁣ ⁣ Cheers! 🥃⁣ ⁣ Akça armudu sanırım herkes denemiştir. Neighborhood Social #1 is a twist on Pegu Club cocktail. This I made to enjoy during one of our neighborhood social distancing happy hour(s). Couple of others will be coming soon. . . Recipe: 2 oz Plymouth Gin (@plymouthginus) 1/2 oz Cointreau (@cointreau @cointreau_us ) 1/4 oz Fernet-Branca (@fernetbranca) 3/4 oz Rubarb Syrup* 1/4 oz Lime juice Orange peel for garnish (optional) Shake all ingredients over ice in cocktail shaker and pour in a chilled coup glass. Serve with orange peel twist. Rubarb syrup recipe: I made this syrup with 1.25 cup of Rubarb juice and 1/2 cup of organic cane sugar. Add sugar in a juice in a pan and mix over medium to medium-low heat till all sugar is dissolved. Do not boil and keep sturring. Let it cool and pour in a glass bottle/ container and put it in a refrigerator.
