I am severely out of the habit of sharing my crafting and doll stuff, largely because it feels like I hardly ever finish things. Which is a bit silly, I did actually finish things over the past month or so.
This doll, who was the first that I ever did a faceup on, needed her brows and eyeliner redone. I didn’t want to completely wipe her face so I did a bit of a patch job. Maybe I’ll give her a completely new face next summer.
Her wig is my second experiment with a glue and cloth wigcap and the hair is “Haute Fur” yarn. Elf ears are a royal pain to work around for making the cap and Resinsoul (well, Featherfall produced by RS) heads are basically spherical. The combination made the wig cap process a heck of a lot harder than it looks when you watch videos of the process on Monster High dolls.
Her sister (also a Featherfall Iruhi, but with human ears) finally got a face. I think I had her blank for two years; I just never had the motivation on the rare days it was good weather for spraying sealer.
Her wig is a bit wild, well more than normal, because there’s no head cap under there. The magnets for her fennec ears fell out and the headcap was off waiting for the glue to dry. Strong magnets, gravity, and a large s-hook defeat wet glue too easily to have it on her while it dries.
My Hujoo mouse also got a face; she only waited about a year. I went into the project with one idea and completely changed it when I started blushing in the darker grey.
Her wig is my first and not entirely successful glue and fabric wig cap (mouse ears are even worse then elf ears) and most of the time she wears a headband to keep it on/the bits in front of her ears down. I think the boa-type novelty yarn makes an adorable pixie cut.
The dress she is wearing is Snapstar. It’s a very tight fit in the bodice but I think at least part of that is the way they didn’t stretch the elastic when the sewed in the velcro. I might try some of the other fashion packs on her since she’s a bit too scrawny for Barbie or Sparkle Girlz, at least for most pants and bottoms.
