A breath escapes with ease into the air, contrary to the blotches of dirt and red scattered across his body. Yet he remains collected, not a tremble to be seen as he swiftly casts his sword away. That’s not to say he felt nothing, but he's trained himself to endure even the most deathly of blows, much to how the other may feel.

She loosed a heavy sigh as she made her way back to the oasis she had created, silently comforting the sobbing toddler who clung to her front, leading her older brother, who cried far more quietly, along gently by the hand; this was getting old...they really did make her sick - any who would abandon their children to an entity they fully believed would take them as a sacrifice were utterly unforgivable in her eyes.

Without moving her hands, she commanded the thick vines that concealed the entrance aside to allow them to enter, the ivy quickly slithering back over it as the children at play paused their activities, observing the new children sadly.

It’s the first time he’s smiled in the last few weeks. Perhaps ‘smile’ is too strong of a word but the corner of his mouth is lofted. He’ll blame it on the video game characters currently beating the snot out of each other. Classic Smash Bros. He’s always Diddy Kong - the guy’s tail really resonated with him when he’d been a kid. Representation mattered. 

Slouched on his side of the couch, Cabriel works the joystick of the game controller with the ease of a twenty-something-year-old who doesn’t have joint pain to worry about.  

Hakuro’s tight. He’s never met somebody who can semi relate to what’s going on with him on a personal level. Plus, anybody who entertains him in video games and smoking a bowl or two was cool in his book.

Until they beat Diddy Kong. Which was currently what the tv screen was telling him causing him to click his tongue and drop the controller into his lap. “Man, whatever. These controllers are ancient anyway.”

Mizi handed over a can, half smiling. “It has a pop-top. ...They are pretty weird actually..” He began to fidget with the pop-top on his own can until he finally decided to open it. “It’s like...bread pudding.”  Before he completely forgot, he pulled out two plastic forks for them to use. “Oh, here!”
