Because I'm curious about it these days:

"Crossplaying" means...

When someone cosplays a character that's a different gender than them

When someone cosplays a genderbent character

Something else

I have never once heard or used this term

When I was younger, "crossplaying" typically meant that you were cosplaying a character who was a different gender than you (usually a woman cosplaying a man or man cosplaying a woman), therefore requiring you to "crossdress" in order to do so. The term kind of fell out of use and favor as far as I can tell, but recently, I've seen the term coming back and being applied to the practice of cosplaying genderbent or genderswapped characters (i.e. cosplaying a female version of a male character) in general, so I'm curious what the general tumblr audience's view on it is. Obviously there's going to be some age-based sampling bias, but oh well

A gender that is tied to crossplay.

A subgender of crossgender and cosplaygender.

Similar to kingender and fictigender but not essentially it since this could be regardless of character.

Ignore my nasty ass face I just got off work and I’m still greasy but my binder came in and I couldn’t not try it on. I H A VE NO BOOBS. I’ve always been so insecure because I’m a DDD cup size and it fucks me up knowing I could never get them to smush away using like 4 sports bras. But here we are.
