people who actually believe aegon was the rightful king genuinely baffle me, and I do think they have some sort of internalized mysoginy, and yes it is that deep. now, keep in mind I did not say team green, and "believing aegon was the rightful heir" is not inherently the same as being team green. you can be team green, like them, support them, like aegon for all i care, sure, that's fine, but if you look me dead in the eyes, and tell me honestly and unironically and seriously that you believe a man should've ruled over a woman who was named heir, in the big 26, then I will not be able to help but think that you're somehow at least a little mysoginistic. not to mention the denial that rhaenyra was usurped because of her gender, which is basically spoonfed to us like you cannot make it more obvious, and bringing up the "law" when it's obviously stated there is no actual law, only custom, since westeros is under absolute monarchy, and the king's word is law. the king CAN change the law, that's literally what a king is. it makes no sense. even if there was a law, viserys would've changed it when naming rhaenyra heir— it's literally no different than jaehaerys changing the law of polyamory marriage or bedding ceremony or so on, idk why ppl act like it is— you cannot break a law as a king, because as a king you CHANGE the law and you MAKE the law. so i don't really have anything against tg or tg fans, matter of fact, I even find tg interesting really, but actually believing in the age of today, that a man has more rightful claim than an older firstborn woman who was named and upheld as heir just because he's a man does bring up questions, you cannot deny.
on a second note, people denying that aegon was a usurper. like you can still like him, and acknowledge that he was a usurper. it doesn't make him any less of a legitimate ruler just so you know. an usurper is not legitimate at first because he was not the named heir, but with support/victory he CAN become legitimate, and that's what aegon did. usurpation is in itself a method of becoming king. look at maegor, he was a usurper and still recognized as a legitimate ruler, so please, whenever someone calls aegon an usurper, unclench. it's objectively what he is. whether he had more claim or not, he DID take the throne forcefully from someone who was already named heir, that's what usurpation is. simple.
