sorry i don't have any headcanon for killer and/or color, so please accept my meager offer...

insomniac murder and reaper. reaper is too busy with his work so he doesn't have enough time to rest or sleep (does he even need to sleep - he's a god). murder doesn't sleep because he has nightmares or upsetting dreams (because good dreams confuse and make him even more depressed - canon!). under the employment of nightmare, murder feels even less appetite for sleep, because he fears how nightmare can infiltrate and influence his dreams. so he tries to stay awake as long as humanly possible (which is a cruel and unusual punishment under war crimes by the way). if he can dope to not fall asleep, he would totally do that. his internal clock is all fucked up too, from not having a consistent eating/sleeping schedule and traveling to too many universes out of time.

i think it would be cute if reaper tries to help murder to sleep somewhat, like being next to him sometimes so murder can relax and rest, because nightmare doesn't want to be near death. if reaper cannot be there physically, then grim or the crows/rats they send to guard over murder. though, it would be difficult to track down nightmare and by extension murder, what with them constantly hopping universes and all.

Hello crow!! Thank you for the birthday wishes, and don’t worry! I was asking for headcanons about anything and everything, not just killer and/or color.

And I love that sm! A way this could potentially work if Reaper can’t keep consistent track of Murder could potentially be that the crows and rats know and remember him or otherwise feel death around him (either because of Reaper/Grimm or because of all the murders), and so they of course sleep near him.

And Nightmare, afraid of death and like a child born during the 1500s or something (I don’t know when Dreamtale was actually set), perhaps he’s still very superstitious. And crows and rats are associated with death, so perhaps Nightmare stays FAR away from crows and rats, and by extension, Murder. Allowing Murder to get some well needed sleep—even if he may not ultimately sleep.

And if I remember correctly, Grimm was supposed to be the God of like, gentle death right? And sleep is said to sometimes be like a death, so perhaps Grimm’s presence is felt by Murder in sleep—which maybe Murder mistakes for being Phantom Papyrus, since both Phantom and Grimm are Papyri and perhaps both feel comforting in the same way??

Maybe Dust seeing traces of Reaper in the death of his victims? Or maybe with Dust dodging death after so many resets and Reaper gets frustrated and decided to pay a creepy visit?

weeeeeell, the only reaper x dust/murder i can write is of my own au so i hope you're not averse to that lol.

something short since i don't want to write too much for it (since i have stuff planned for the fic already). somewhat tied to chapter 2 and chapter 5 of "are you satisfied" in themes that is. set in murder's backstory.

probably no more freaky killer today, i have murder on my mind lol because of the fic

like, i've been stuck with the image of murder wearing a black long coat (with a hood of course). he's going to look like a grim reaper with that attire on. he's like an ominous figure, the harbinger/angel of death. but it would be also very cute in the way he wants to emulate reaper and grim in some way.

i am toying with the idea of reaper giving him an 'engagement gift', like a ring or a lapel pin, so he can wear it too. i know traditionally in some cultures there's the idea of a mortal becoming a bride for a god, or a man marrying a goddess, and becoming the bride/husband makes you either an important figure in their cult/worship or a deity in some way (after you expire your mortal life that is). just think it's a neat idea to weave into the lore.

But yeah, this seems very interesting and cute! I’ve heard of a term around in pagan communications of godspouse and godspousing, and I don’t know too much about it besides that a devotee, worshipper, believer, etc. somehow someway enters a more intimate and personal relationship with a god(s) and/or goddess(es), usually of a romantic nature and sometimes even of sexual, i heard. I don’t know too much about it yet, so I won’t speak to much of it.

I’m thinking perhaps Reaper gives him a lapel pin if he proposes when Murder is still working under Nightmare, because its easy too keep close on his person when engaging in violent acts that would likely damage or risk losing a ring—and its small enough and less suspicious to hide if someone with bad intentions were to discover it.

And perhaps, after Murder manages to escape Nightmare and is no longer having to worry about fighting or danger, maybe Reaper proposes again with a ring, or Murder starts wearing the ring if Reaper gave him both during his time with Nightmare, or Murder told him to keep the ring for now and used the lapel as a representation/similar to a promise ring.

Or perhaps Murder turns down the proposal at first, either wanting to wait for better conditions or maybe just not feeling ready or worthy of it. And maybe the lapel is something he does on his own to make his interest in marrying Reaper clear, but in the future, perhaps? One day. A promise ring kinda.
