Mini Fanfic #1287: A Day Spent with Ms. Glynda Goodwitch (RWBY)
8:39 a.m. at The Team JNPRO'S Residence's........
Oscar: (Walks Over to the Kitchen While Sniffing Out the Smell Coming From It) Breakfast this early in the morning? I know Ren is the earliest bird out of all of us here, but- (Eyes Begins to Widened at a Very Familiar Face, Now Spotted in the Room) Glynda!?
Glynda: (Greets Oscar with a Single Nod While Sitting on the Table Filled with Breakfast Up and Ready Fpr Both of Them to Enjoy) Good Morning, Oscar. I hope you had a good rest last night.
Oscar: Yeah, I slept like a log. What brings you here this morning? N-Not that I mind you being here or anything.
Glynda: (Giggles a Bit Softly) I know~ Your team left for another mission earlier this morning and asked me to watch over you for the time being.
Oscar: ('Sigh') So they've left me behind again, huh? Probably think I'd slow them down or something.....
Glynda: (Gently Grabs Hold of Oscar's Hand) That isn't true. You and I both know just how much they love you and how they're more than willing to doing everything to keep you out of harms way, especially after you've been through in the past.
Oscar: ('Sighs in Defeat') Yeah....I do have the tendency to make them worried sick a lot. I just wish I could contribute to the team a little bit more, you know?
Glynda: (Gently Squeezes Oscar's Hand) You being alive, safe, and living the the life you want to set out for yourself is a far more contributing factor you've brought into the table than you could possibly realize and we could never be anymore thankful for that. (Kiss the Top of Oscar's Hand) Now, come. (Pats on Oscar's Hand Before Letting It Go From her Grasps) It is time feast.
Oscar: (Happily Nodded) Right.
Oscar pulls a seat, right next to where Glynda is seating at, up before sitting down and using a fork and knives to eat. He takes one bite of the perfectly crafted omelet and his eyes begins to light up in delight. He then proceeds to try out the smoke sausage next, followed by the strawberry pancakes, both of whom are equally delicious to devour in their own right.
Glynda: So? What do you think? And please. Take all the time you need to chew and swallow before speaking.
Oscar: (Eats his Food Before Swallowing it Whole and Speaking) Glynda, don't tell Ren and Pyrrha I tell you this, but I think your breakfast is god-like.
Glynda: (Eyes Widened a Bit in Genuine Surprise) Oh! (Giggles a Bit While Blushing) Is....that right?~ A select few people from the Golf Club, would say it's below average at best, whenever I cook something for them.
Oscar: (Rolls his Eyes a Bit) Well, they'd probably don't have a single clue what a fantastic meal taste like if it hits them right across the-
Glynda: Oscar.
Oscar: (Immediately Stops Himself Thanks to Glynda's Disapproved Glare, Staring at Him) Uh- (Clears his Throat Before Smiling Awkwardly) R-Right. Let's.....not worry about them for now. When did you learned how to cook to begin with?
Glynda: Well, when I was a child, I would always watch my mother, bless her soul, cook up the meals she would make for the both of us the best she could. I was so moved by it's exquisite taste and each of it's detailed layers that I began to study in Culinary Arts in from my pre to post teenage years and the rest after that, was history.
Oscar: Cool. (Frowna a Bit) Also, I'm sorry for your loss. She seems like a great lady.
Glynda: (Smiles Sadly) The greatest in the world. (Takes a Sip of her Cup of Coffee) She would've adored you and your family if she were still here right now.
Oscar: Our family. (Gives Glynda a Reassuring Smile) You're more worthy of being a part of this than you think.
Glynda: (Heart Begins to Melt in Genuine Happiness) Thank you. (Takes Another Sip of her Coffee) So what plans do you have in store for the two us today, if you don't mind me asking.
Oscar: (Takes Another Bite of his Omelet) Honestly-
Glynda: Don't talk with your mouth full.
Oscar: Oh! (Finishes Chewing and Then Swallowing Up his Food Before Speaking Again) I'm fine doing whatever you want to do today.
Glynda: Are you sure? (Turns Away A Bit Shyly Like) My daily schedule isn't known for being....exciting for the most part.
Oscar: (Happily Shrugs) I don't mind a casual, productive outing every once and a while. Plus, you've spent all morning making breakfast for the both of us. You more than deserve to have a day dedicated to you for once, you know?
Glynda: (You have chosen such a sweet boy as your processor, Ozpin~) (Simply Nodded with a Small Smile) Hm. Very well. I'll take lead then. We have quite a lot to do today, but first things first, we must set up a theory appointment.
Oscar: (Raises an Eyebrow in a Bit of Confusion) Already? I thought mines would be next week.
Glynda: No, It's.....(Turns Away Shyly Again) Not for you per say......
Oscar: Not for- (Eyes Slowly Starts to Widened Once He Mentally) Starts Piecing Two and Two Together) Ooooooooh, got it. I'll set everything up for in the living room.
Glydna: After we finish breakfast first.
Oscar: Right.
Few Minutes of Finishing and Cleaning Up After Breakfast Later, at the Living Room...........................
Glynda: (Laying Up on the Sofa, Looking Up at the Ceiling and Ranting the Whole Time) As if my day haven't be more stressful enough, our incompetent, so called "Leader" of the Club, Janice, had to come barged right on in and pile up five stack of the paperwork SHE was supposed to sign, completely ignoring the fact that I already had a million other objectives I had yet to finish at the time, so I basically had to do everyone else's work up until the night falls!
Oscar: (Sitting on the Couch, Nodding and Writing Notes Down the Entire Time) Okay, I see, I see. And how did that made you feel exactly?
Glynda: Annoyed, exhausted, frustrated- ('Sighs Heavily') And slightly disheartened. Our club prioritizes in sisterhood bonds, but....I can't help but feel left out if anything. Juvenile point of thinking, I know.
Oscar: (Gives his Third Mother Figure a Reassuring Smile on his Face) Hey, there's nothing wrong with feeling that way from time to time. (Chuckles Lightly) The brothers know I've been down that road way too many times for me to keep in count these days.
Glynda: Yes. (Starts Frowning Worryingly) And it's been concerning me and the others to no end.
Oscar: (Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth While Sighing) Yeah, I know, I'm a mess of a farmer. (Starts Smiling Again) B-But I'm still working on it. And I know you have what it takes to do so too if ypu don't let any negative thoughts cloud your judgment forever
Glynda: (Simply Nodded to Oscar's Words of Encouragement) I suppose that's a reasonable method- (Rolls her Eyes a Bit) Given that's easier said than done at the moment.
Oscar: (Playfully Raises an Eyebrow at Glynda) Would a cuddle session with your son/mock therapist help calm your nerves for a bit?
Glynda: (Holds Both her Arms Out) If you don't mind, pleass~
Oscar: (Chuckles Lightly Again) Not at all~ (Gets Himself Up From his Seat and Walk Over to Hug Glynda) 'Always happy to help out a mom in need.
Glynda: (Happily Hugs Oscar Back) Thank you~ You always give out the best hugs~
Oscar: It's what I do.
An Hour and a Half Of Cuddling Later, Mistral Park........
Oscar: Hmmmm......(Stares at his Chest Pieces For a Few More Seconds Before Slowly Picking One Up)
Glynda: (Sitting in Front of Her Opponent, Awaiting For his Move to Be Completely Made) You look hesitant. Are you familiar with the structures and layers chess has to offer, Oscar?
Oscar: Sort of? Oz would run me down the brief history of the the game itself here and there, but the only piece of advice i remembered him giving me was to think very carefully before making a move. (Places his Piece to the Spot he Chose)
Glynda: (Slowly Nodded While Picking Up her Piece) A very cmmon, yet important advice to keep intact, no doubt. But I believe there's more to the game than just thinking cautiously. (Place the Piece Down to the Spot She Chose)
Oscar: ('Sigh') Yeah, I figured as much. (Moves His Piece to the Other Side) Care to elaborate?
Glynda: Why, certainly. You see, Chess is a far more complex game than most people give it credit for these days. (Moves One Piece to the Side) Again, making careful plays is important and all, but it takes patience- (Watches Oscar Make his Move Closely) being calm- (Slowly Moves Another Piece Up a Bit) and developing a more clearer mindset in order to help you make even the most precise move in your arsenal.
Oscar: (Starts Nodding to Glynda's Words as He About to Make his Move Next) Mhmm...
Glynda: Now, there are plenty of strategic methinks players use to try and win. For instance, all I need to do is to simply observe every bit of moode and movement my opponents make front in front of me, right before I come in with the finish, in other words- (Moves her Piece, The Queen, Five of Oscar's Pieces to His Side of the Board Before Blurting Out-) Checkmate.
Oscar: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Awe at The Flawless Move Glynda Just Made) Incredible....You're like a master at this.
Glynda: (Smiles a Bit Sheepishly) I...wouldn't exactly call myself a "Master" of any kind.....(Forms a Cheeky Smirk on her Face) But I have beaten Ozpin at his own game more than fourty times~
Oscar: (Snickers a Bit) Seriously?
Glynda: (Giggles Softly) It's the truth!~ And every time, he would start grumbling and contemplating to himself on how he continues to get outplayed.
Oscar: He does have the tendency to grumble.
Glynda: (Playfully Rolls her Eyes) To an egregious sense! But it was still entertaining to watch all the same~ ('Sigh') I miss him.
Oscar: You and me both.
Two Hour Later at the Mistral's County Club's Outdoor Golf Field.........
A white little rabbit was seen hopping around in a bright green, grassy field when suddenly, the sound of engine ringing through his fluffy eardrums as he turns around to see a purple colored golf-cart flying over him (in slow motion on his point of view) reached the ground before driving down forward with the passenger screaming "WOOOOOOOO" along the way, causing the furball to Tilt his head his head in confusion.
Glynda: (Let's Out a Sigh of Relief While Driving the Purple Golf Kart in Question) That worked out more than I hoped. Are you feeling okay, Oscar?
Oscar: (Let's Out a Single Sigh of Relief of his Own) The adrenaline was something fierce, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. (Turns to Glynda with a Smile) That was pretty rad jump and landing you made there, Glynda.
Glynda: (Pushes her Glasses Up with a Prideful Smile on her Face) ('Hmph') It was nothing to it~ Let it be known that I am far from being the boring professor in Beacon Campus.
Oscar: I don't think you're boring.
Glynda: I know you don't, dear. But I can you a handful of my former students who would say otherwise, including a certain troublemaker in red. Speaking of which, it's astounds me how long it took me to ask you this, but-(Turns Back to Oscar) What on Green Earth do you see in that girl?
Oscar: (Smiles a Bit Bashfully) What's there to say?~ She's strong, sweet, very pretty and beautiful to look at~
Glynda: (Rolls her Eyes a Bit) She's also as thickheaded and reckless as they come.....
Oscar: Oh, to an egregious sense. Then again, I'm no better in that comparison, so I really shouldn't be talking, huh?
Glynda: I'm more than certain that she's one of the many bad influences on you.
Oscar: No doubt. As much of a handful she is, I still love and adore her all the same ~ Made me actually wanna get hugged by her today.
Glynda: ( Sigh') I pray that you're referring to a regular hug.....
Oscar: (Casually Shakes his Head) Not even~
Meanwhile at the Food Court........
Ruby: !!!! (Immediately Gets Herself Up From her Seat)
Weiss: (Surprised by Ruby's Sudden Action Right in Front of Her) Ruby, what is it!?
Ruby: I dunno.....(Place her Habds on Both of her Cheeks) I felt a disturbance of some kind....
Weiss: What kind of-
Ruby: (Happily Swaying her Hips From Side to Side While Blushing) The sweet, lovey-dovey kind from my one and only Honey-Bun!~
Weiss: (Puts on a Deadpinned Look Right on Cue) Should've known. You miss seeing him already?
Ruby: Ohh you have the slightest idea- Ugh!~ I can't wait to hug the ever living crap outta him tonight~
Weiss: ('Sigh') (Godspeed, Oscar Everlynn Pines. Godspeed. )
An Hour of Riding Around the Golf Course Later, Inside the Club's Mini Mall.......
Glynda: (Standing by the Change Room's Door Wearing a "I Aquire My Son to be Right by My Side This Instant" T-Shirt) You're worrying over nothing in there, Oscar. You'll look great.
Oscar: (Inside the Change Room) I don't know why you moms insist on having me wear these dumb t-shirts with you in public!
Glynda: (Puts on a Motherly Glare) Okay, first off, these t-shirts are anything but dumb. I find them rather charming in this day in age.
Oscar: (Sticks his Head Out Beside the Door) I, for one, find them outdated.
Glynda: (Rolls her Eyes a Bit) Agree to Disagree if you must. The bottom line here is that I want show off our two-part fashion. (Turns Away While Takes her Glasses Off Before Wiping a Single Tear off her Eyes) ('Sniff') 'Less you would be cruel enough to break your mother's poor maiden heart~ (Slightly Turns her Eyes Back to Oscar, Expecting his Answer with a "Sad" Expression)
Oscar: ('Sighs in Defeat') Man, I hate it when you guys do that.....(Reluctantly Walks Out of the Dressing Room, Wearing the "I am The Son." T-Shirt) I am now one with the shirt. You happy?
Glynda: (Smiles Brightly While Clasping her Habds Together) Very much so~ That shirt looks wonderful on you already.
Oscar: Thanks. Looks good on you too. (I swear, if I see or hear a single peep outta Ruby or any of her nutty teammates coming over here, I am gonna lose my sh-)
???????: As I live and breathe.
Oscar: (Sighs in Pure Relief at the Sound of a Familiar, Yet Far More Tolerable Voice This Time Around) (Oh thank God.) Hey, Whit-leyyy......(Eyes Widened a Bit at the Sight of the Youngest Schnee Walking Approach Him, Wearing a "I am The Baby Snowflake ❄" T-Shirt)
Whitley: I see you and Ms. Goodwitch are wearing these ridiculous t-shirts as well?
Oscar: Not by choice on my end. But it does make Glynda happy at least. (Forms a Small Smirk on his Face) I take it you didn't activate chose to wear the "Little Snowflake" one on your own accord, huh?
Whitley: ('Sighs Heavily') Unfortunately.........
??????: Whitley, darling!~
The boys turn their attention to Whitley's mother, Willow Schnee, walking over to the trio while proudly wearing the "Please Return My Baby Snowflake ❄ to Me At Once Please!~"
Willow: (Carrying a White, Fancy Lookkng Fedora in her Habds) You must try on this lovely fedora I picked out for- Oh. (Smiles Brightly at the Fellow Duo) Oscar, Ms. Goodwitch, hello!~
Glynda: ('Sigh') Honestly, Willow, we've long since past the point of being formal woth one another by now.
Willow: (Giggles Softly) Of course, silly me~ (Politely Bows Towards the Former Professor of Beacon) Glynda. Such a beautiful name you have~
Glynda: Yours fare better. (Puts on a Bit of a Seductive Smirk on her Face) It aligns perfectly to how gorgeous you look today~
Willow: Oh~ (Giggles Some More Before Smirking Back at Glynda) I could say that same for you as well, my dear~ What's your secret?
Glynda: (Pushes her Bun Up in a Profound Manner) Well, other than being born with thus nature look, I spend every second of the morning moisturizing my face with one of my most finest skin care. I'd be more than happy lend them to you if you like.....(Continues Talking to a Very Intrigued Willow)
Whitley: (Watching the Two Women Interact Along with Oscar) Never thought I would see the day of those two flirting with one another.
Oscar: I know, right? Hey, wait a minute- (Turns to Whitley) Wasn't your mom dating your former butler at one point?
Whitley: (Turns to Oscar) Yes, but they both decided it would be best to remain as friends after a while.
Oscae: Ah, gotcha. (Turns Back to the Two Ladies in Question) You know? Call me crazy- (Smiles a Bit) But I think they would make a cute pair.
Whitley: Ms Glynda is doing a swell job making mother smile thus far, i must admit. (Snickers a Bit) This is the most I've seen her laugh in a long while.
Oscar: And I've never seen Glynda this flirty since.....ever actually. But as long as they're happy, that's good enough for me, you know?
Whitley: (Simply Nodded in Agreement) Agreed. I could do without these shirts though.
Oscar: ('Sighs Heavily') Whitley, you are preaching to the choir right now.
Two Hours Later, Outside of Beacon Academy's Entrance Gate............
Oscar: (Looks Up the Once Fallen Beacon Academy, Now Rebuild in Near Complete, Alongside Glynda) It's good to see the academy is in better shape now.
Glynda: (Smiles Fondly) It still as beautiful as the day I first enrolled~ (Notices the Security System Arounding the Gate) Here's hoping it's more secure without my presence, this time.
Oscar: (Turns to Glynda) What are you gonna do now that you've finished doing the heavy lifting?
Glynda: I continue to live the rest of my as it turned to now. I promised myself that I would move on from Beacon and I intend to keep it that way going forward. (Turns to Oscar) Are you certain that you want to become a professor here in the distant future? It could be an awfully stressful occupation if you're not too careful.
Oscar: True, but I also promised myself that I would do more for the world than staying at a farm for the rest of my life. (Looks Back at the Academy) Plus, I owe it to Ozpin to help reshape the ins and outside of this place and the rest of world for that matter, to a far more better light, you know?
Glynda: (Smiles Proudly at her Son) Very commendable indeed. But please do call me if you ever need some assistance or advice.
Oscar: Only if you continue to do the same for us going forward. (Turns Back to Glynda with a Sincere Smile) You are still a part of our ragtag family after all.
Glynda's heart begins to melt in pure, genuine happiness. The world hasn't been too kind to her after Beacon burn into flames and rubble that night. With Ozpin gone along with it, she always had to keep pushing herself and believing that it was her responsibility to rebuild everything from the ground up,knowing full well that it would only lead to more difficulties down the line.
But now that she has a newfound family to rely on these days, her life has began to get more and more better for her over time, prompting her to be the happiest she has ever been in a really long time.
Glynda: Thank you. ('Sniff') (Wipes a Single Tear From of her Eyes) Thank you so much to having be a part of you family for so long. ('Sniff') I will forever be in your and everyone else's debt. Oscar Everlynn Pines.
Oscar: (Heart Begins to Melt in Genuine Happiness as Well as He Begins to Hug Glynda) You're always welcome. And thank you for putting up with us for this long. You're the greatest, mom.
Glynda: (Giggles Softly) You called me 'mom'~
Oscar: (Forms a Playful Smirk on Face) Careful, your inner Nora is about to show at any second now~
Glynda: (Playfully Scoffs) Please. As if I could possibly have the what it takes replace a screwball like her.
Oscar: ('Sigh') Yeah, one Nora is more enough. (Smiles Softly at Glynda) Just like how one Glynda is what all we need to make this world completely.
Glynda kisses Oscar on the side of his head as the two continue to embrace one another unt it was time for them to return back home.
Later that Night, Back to the JNPRO'S Residence's Living Room........
Oscae: Alright, alright, I'm coming! (Walks Over ti the Door) Just because the night is still young- (Slowly Opens the Door) doesn't mean you get to ring that door bell like crazy person all-NIGHT!?
Oscar immediately gets hug tackled into the ground thanks to the like of his huntress of a girlfriend, Ruby Rose.
Ruby: (Giggles Softly) Hiiii, Oscar~
Oscar: (Sighs While Putting on a Deadpinned Smile on his Face) Hiya, Ruby. I take it you've been missing me all day?
Ruby: Like absolutely crazy!~ You know I couldn't last a whole day without thinking about you- (Forms a Flirty Smirk on her Face) And the cute, freckled face of yours~
Oscar: (Chuckles Lightly) Says you~ (Smirks Back at Ruby Above Him) You're still as cute and beautiful as the day I first laid eyes on you. It's one of the many reasons why I love you after all.
Ruby: Bet I can prove that I love you more~
Oscar: I like to see you try~
Ruby: (Pulls on a Little Bit of Lipstick on her Lips) Challenge accepted~ (Slowly Leans Down to Her Boyfriend) Come to Momma Ros-
'Ahem'
Ruby: (Immediately Shriek and Jump Off of Oscar at the Sight of-) MS. GOODWITCH! G-Good evening!~ (Giggles Very Awkwardly While Helping Oscar Back Up on his Face) How have you been these days?
Glynda; (Standing in Front of the Love Birds While Wearing her Night Gown For Tonight) Fairly well for the most part. (Crosses her Arms) Care to explain why you were pinning Oscar down to the ground like that?
Ruby: Well-I-Uh-You see, I-Uh-Uh-Uhh...
Glynda raises an eyebrow in silence.
Ruby: ('Sighs in Defeat') I missed Oscar so much that wanna kiss and cuddle with him all night.....
Oscar: (Simply Shrugs) Poor girl couldn't help herself sometimes.
Ruby: (Rapidly Nodding her Head With the Sad Puppy Dog Eyes) Mhm Mhm Mhmmm!~
Glynda: ('Sighs Heavily') Figured as much. I suppose i could turn the other cheek and let you two to ventures. IF you promise to behave and not cause any trouble- (Squints her Eyes at Ruby a Bit) Ms. Rose.
Ruby: (Pouts at her Old Professor) Honestly, teach, since when have I ever cause you any trouble~
Glynda: Do you want the short answer or the long one? Because I actually took the time out of my daily schedule to put together a PowerPoint of all the schemes and reckless stunts you pulled during your first year of the acade-
Ruby: Okay, okay, fine! I promise to day outta trouble! (Crosses her Arms While Puffing her Cheeks Out a Little, Grumbling) No need to showcase my past endeavors all night.....
Glynda: (Puts on a Satisfied Smirk on her Face) Glad we're on the same page. And go close the door. (Walks Back to her Guest Room Upstairs) You'll bring the night chill in the goodness sake.
Oscar/Ruby: Yes, ma'am.
Ruby: GEEEEEEEEEZ! (Walks Over to the Front Door to Close It) She's still as uptight and bossy as she always been. Shouldn't be surprised at this point.
Oscar: I dunno. She seems pretty cool to me.
Ruby: (Pouts at her Boyfriend) You're just saying that because she's your third mom.
Oscar: Probably. (Sniles Softly at the Upstairs) But I wouldn't have any other way.
Ruby: (Smiles Softly as She Walks Over to Oscar) That's great to hear. But we can save the family mushy for tomorrow morning. (Hugs Oscar) We still have a special cuddle session to get to remember?~ Chop-chip~
Oscar: (Smirks at Ruby Again) You never fail to be this impatient, huh Ruby?~
Ruby: (Smirks Back at Oscar) Only when i get to spend the rest of my time with you, honey-bun~ Now as what I was saying before I was rudely interrupt- (Slowly Puckers Her Up) Come to Momma Rose~
Ruby gives Oscar a nice, passionate kiss on the lips as their cuddle date night session could finally begin in peace.
Jack is very clingy with people he’s close to. A certain amount of space is needed because neither party wants to be suffocated, obviously, but to make up for the lack of any positive relationships, he’s very physically affectionate.
Hector learned this when Jack fell asleep in his lap. They were supposed to be doing sexual things, but it just turned into a cuddle session because Jack needed it.
