Why is it always "aromantic/asexual people can STILL date/have sex!" and never "some aromantic/asexual people aren't romance/sex averse and might CHOOSE to date/have sex." And also never "heteromantic/heterosexual people can STILL date/have sex with people of same/similar gender(s)!" Oh right, because of hetero-amatonormativity. Like people can easily understand that generally straight people are romance/sex averse towards other people of same/similar gender(s), but will not extend the same understanding towards aspecs. Because straightness is seen as the default and anything else is Other that needs to be "fixed". And the Other's autonomy doesn't really matter at all.
This is amatonormativity and heteronormativity.
The erasure of non-partnering people (whether they be aspec or allo) is very problematic.
The erasure of cupiohex (straight people who date or hookup with similar genders) is also problematic.
Attractional orientation =/= relationship orientation.
