Finished this book by @essiesmutantbiz today after meaning to read it for fully 3 years.
It was so fun!
If you've read any of my work, you know I love books where people have limited genre saviness to their situation, with a few great big gaps in their awareness or understanding. This is that, plus a fun all queer social group (even if I spent a fair amount of the book wanting to punk Lou into the sun.) and what feels like a really fair example of what could happen when you give a bunch of random ass teenagers superpowers. But like...things like "communicate with objects" and "glow when horny" level superpowers. It's a feet-on-the-ground, domestic level superhero story with powerful but relatable stakes and I will not be waiting 3 more years to read the rest of the series and see these character's world expanding.
