Developing Effective Content
Having content on your social media is great, but effective content that works for you is even better. This can be done in a few steps.
First, you need a strategy for your content. If you do not have a strategy then you will not know what steps you need to take. You need to have idea of what content you want to be sharing. Then having a calendar set up with what future posts you are going to make makes it easier for everyone to collaborate with each other.
There are two ways to get content, creation and curation. If employees or your company are coming up with content then that is creation. If you are hiring outside of your business to create content, that is curation. Both are very helpful and beneficial to businesses.
Each social media platform is different and therefore you need to share your content differently on each platform. Your followers on Twitter will not be the same as your followers on Facebook. Also on Twitter, there is a limited amount of characters you can have on each Tweet. This is not the case of Facebook. Also, some platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat have video and picture stories that disappear after a 24-hour period. If you want to promote a limited time offer then this is a great way to do that because it drives the customer to get it right now.
Some companies are using video content. Videos are a great way to show your customers another side of your business, whether that be showing them how you make the products or behind the scene footage of a new store. Using just your laptop or a high tech video camera are both great ways to show your customers more about you. Making your content more authentic and real brings your customers together. Customers that can see the more personal side of a business often think that the company is more authentic.
After you have implemented all or some of these practices you want to know if it is truly helping your business. There are ways to measure your ROI on each social media platform. The different platforms have different tracking systems set up to see how many times your posts have shared, liked, commented on, and more.
