Okay but have we considered omegaverse and anesthesia??
Just...imagine alpha!price having to get surgery done, and you're not really sure why but the doctors insist on you being there when he wakes up. You've been under anesthesia plenty of times, and you've been with ghost during his procedures. There's nothing to really warrant a nurse hunting you down when you leave to take a piss.
"It's different for alphas," the nurse explains, as if that at all helps you understand. He opens the door to prices room and–
You nearly recoil at the stench of distressed alpha. You have never smelt this much anxiety on price before. He's lying in bed, thick bandages over his abdomen, he keeps looking around the room until he finally spots you.
"Pup...pup, come here...c'mon..." he croons, trying to sit up, his scent changing from distressed to calm so fast it gives you a headache. Price reaches his warms out, pupils blown wide "pup...come here..."
"Uh. Okay, yeah." You force out, taken aback by his..everything. price hasn't called you a pup since the one time you nearly bled out in his lap.
You move right next to the bed, gently pushing price back because you're pretty sure he shouldn't be sitting up with a hole in his stomach. He purrs happily, grabbing your elbow to pull you down into a scent "pup...safe..safe pup..."
Your captain, who is practically unassigned for all of the instincts he usually shows, is scenting you like your a milky pup and not a full grown beta.
Different for alphas, huh? You gently crawl into prices bed when he starts growling, upset his pup is so far away. As you tuck in, you glance at the pillows on the floor with claw marks.
Suddenly, it makes sense why the doctors wanted you hear. Alphas get clingy with their pups on anesthesia.
