I just think she’s neat!
Is D Vorah stronger than Mileena?
No. If you’re referring to the time when she killed Mileena, let me remind you, she killed Mileena when the latter was defenseless and restrained, not during in the middle of a fight. D Vorah is often tries to get the drop on characters when their guard is down or if they’re unable to defend themselves.
She is a deadly fighter, yes. Unfortunately, D Vorah is hardly much of an impressive fighter to begin with. Her fighting style isn’t based on skill or finesse, she just relies on her natural abilities and insects to do the work for her. The poisonous stingers makes her too dangerous to fight in close-quarters unless you’re capable of reacting quickly to her swift attacks.
In my opinion, if Mileena and D Vorah were to meet again and fought, I’m quite certain Mileena may pull off a win since she is aware of her own fate in her MK 11 bio. That doesn’t mean she wouldn’t have a hard time against the bug girl.
About D Vorah, I want to know...exactly what is the Kytinn? I heard that what we see isn't D Vorah's true form, but a corpse of a person she is using as a body.
The Kytinn are a race of humanoid insect-like beings that once resided in a realm called Arnyek. Unfortunately for them, Shao Kahn merged that realm with Outworld, thus makes them unwilling residents of the said realm. That’s why D Vorah is often seen there.
Like Earthrealm insects, the Kytinn are...extremely difficult to kill. They’re often seen as disgusting pests. According to the lore, Shao Kahn decimated a shitload of them and their hives many years ago, so there is probably isn’t a lot of them around.
As for her body, well its hard to say, but if sources are correct, prepare to be creeped out. The Kytinn operate sort of like a Hive Mind. So if we look at the intros, D Vorah can be seen as a swarm of insects arriving the scene before reforming her body. It’s not to look flashy or cool, D Vorah is technically a hollow corpse/shell with thousands of insects residing within her. Like a walking hive in the shape of her host, so even if you ‘killed’ her, D Vorah can eventually revive herself as long as the main insect (the giant Kytinn fly from one of her variants) isn’t killed or if all the bugs within the body are completely destroyed. Theoretically, D Vorah can’t stay dead if one or more of her insects still remains alive.
In all honesty, they are one of the most dangerous species in Mortal Kombat. If D Vorah’s ending is possible in lore, then the Kytinn are very good at evolving. If they continue to evolve, they can become seemingly unstoppable, assuming they can become giants.
Hi hi!^_^ I have a Mortal Kombat related question. Do you think of the notion D Vorah is a Mary-Sue storywise?
As much as I dislike D Vorah, I wouldn’t go as far as consider her as a Mary Sue. Mary Sue is a complex terminology in fiction.
She isn’t flawless. Honestly, I dig her design and find her species somewhat interesting. However, as a character and how she is handled, I feel like Netherrealm Studios is trying TOO hard to force D Vorah into making some impact in the story and being a serious threat to characters, when clearly she is not.
Killing off Mileena isn’t the worst part, no matter how fans try to make it out to be. The worst part of D Vorah is that she is very inconsistent and her goals are too vague. For example, in Kitana’s dialogue, D Vorah confirmed (yeah right) was the one who killed King Jerrod.
Wait a minute, hold on lol.
But, Sindel revealed she killed King Jerrod! Why the hell is D Vorah the killer of King Jerrod in that dialogue?! That defeats the purpose of Kitana’s character development and the impact that Shao Kahn has on her life. D Vorah killing him seems out of nowhere. Even if she did, WHY?!
Reason: For Shao Kahn!
Yeah, but there is a problem, D Vorah isn’t that loyal to Shao Kahn. Why would she be loyal to the guy who was stated to have killed and destroyed a majority of the Kytinn? The leads to my secondary issue of this character...her loyalty.
She is loyal to no one. She is a chronic backstabber, far worse than Kano. With Kano, it makes sense because he is an arms dealer and an asshole. The Black Dragon’s main goal is money.
Her loyalty is only for the Kytinn and their survival. Cool, but let me ask you this...have you SEEN any other living Kytinn in the story mode besides D Vorah? D Vorah feels like the last of her kind. If they showed what the Kytinn are going through and give us more insight on D Vorah’s own story, maybe she would’ve been a better written character.
It’s like NetherRealm Studios doesn’t know what to do with her or how they want to make her important to the story. Killing off old characters doesn’t make her a good character, it makes her a nuisance and I think in the next MK game, they need to redo her character.
So Mary Sue doesn’t fit her in my opinion. A poorly-written, ambiguous character with hazy motivations, yes.
At least someone like Reptile has a consistent goal in mind and character. Even though he doesn’t appear in the story as much, Reptile is kind of sympathetic because all he wants is to revive his entire race out of the fear of it becoming extinct. He’s a remarkably better character than D Vorah will ever be.
My gameplay as Mileena. She’s really becoming my female main. She’s always been my main since the old days of MK. Now, before I go play online, first...it’s payback time.
When D Vorah killed Scorpion, why didn't the other Scorpion die or get erased from existence? Is this a plothole?
I think you’re missing important detail on the rules of time travel in MK 11 there, darling.
That wasn’t a plothole. She killed older Scorpion, not young Scorpion. The rules of Time Travel in Mortal Kombat goes like this, if your younger counterpart dies, you--the present you will cease to exist. Notice also that Kano was overprotective of his younger self throughout the story, he knows what would happen if his young incarnation were to killed.
Kronika explained this to Geras that if he killed Kung Lao and Liu Kang, their Revelent selves will be erased in that timeline. However, if your present self dies, your younger counterpart will still exist.
I strongly advise you to pay close attention to the details of the MK 11 story.
What ever happened to Ferra and Torr in Mortal Kombat 11?
They were likely killed by D Vorah or Kronika’s timequake. It’s unknown what really happened to them, but of course, D Vorah confirmed their status to Kollector.
Rather unfortunate since they were quite interesting characters.
