D.I.D!Waterboy

If there is any inaccuracies I'm sorry I'm not a professional, just have a thought after

Waterboy having D.I.D and each Alter has diff powers

Host(Waterboy) his normal powers spitting high pressure water

Trauma Holders(Herman) dripping water all over his body, they co-front cause if there's anything bad happening Herman will push Waterboy back to retreat and absorb the trauma and protect the host(idk man I'm just bullsh*tting at this point)

Protectors/Rescuers(Cove) having ice powers he comes front when Waterboy retreats, he fronts and gently frontshifts

Littles(droplet) he has kind of like bubble powers he mostly front at home with his lola, he fronts when the hosts has finished their responsibilities at the house, when they're in front of the TV watching teleserye, he's sitting on the ground his head leaning on her lap and she's petting him

Gatekeeper(Blue) he has the power to bubble themself like a cocoon and heal

Prosecutors(Shoal and Flood) Shoal have blood bending and Flood can make tsunamis, they don't front much, making a plan to block Cove (one of them(mostly Flood) will block Cove with his powers to block him, making a solid wall of water) when Waterboy, and Herman retreats, and when they do successfully block Clove and everyone, they front(mostly Shoal) and they hurt everyone in their sight, and when that happened only his lola can get him out of it

Bruce Banner and Marc Spector. Both of these characters explicitly have dissociative identity disorder and it makes them some of if not my absolute favorite Marvel characters.

What I find interesting is how differently their conditions manifest.

Both of them represent the two different theories of cause

Bruce Banner's condition is likely the traumagenic model, as his father was an physically abusive alcoholic.

The different Hulks in Banners mind are:

Bruce Banner - the original persona

Savage Hulk - the child

Joe Fixit - the Las Vegas bouncer

Scar - the warlord

Devil Hulk - the caretaker

Note: the Devil Hulk persona died in Immortal Hulk, the same series he was introduced in.

Marc Spector's condition is likely the Sociogenic model, as he has been shown to have developed it seemingly spontaneously.

Marc's different personas are:

Marc Spector - the original persona

Steven Grant - the millionaire playboy

Jake Lockley - the taxi driver

Khonshu - what the fuck

Note: it has been stated that Khonshu made Marc's condition a lot worse, because magic fucky wucky bullshit. Marc always had the condition.

i do sort of wish plurality was even a fraction as understood irl as it is online, even just as an explanation for things. like, i really wish it was acceptable to say oh, i forgot that because you didnt actually tell me, you told <person who was fronting at the time> and they didnt pass it on. or oh, we slept upstairs because <headmate> is scared of our room and the trauma they remember. or, we're interested in "childish" things even though we're an adult because we have alot of syskids. its just frustrating to have to come up with random lies and excuses when theres a far simplier, and in my opinion more reasonable, answer, just because that answer happens to be plurality.

severance. like the show. the concept. The Thing.

!! Rating: Holy Shit, there's so much to say about this one. Short answer; yes AND no.

SO. we've been binging this show since last week, and wow its a good show i recommend giving it watch !!

i will Try to keep this spoilers-free but, its still better to watch the first few episodes, then come back to read this post

the main concept of "severance" as a concept is purposefully splitting the brain, (via brain surgery) to make two separate consciousness, one for work, one for home.

this is where it already gets tricky; its purposeful, it's basically consensual on the "host's" part, but the headmates (or "innies" as the show calls them) did not want this, but now that they have a chance at life, albeit a boring 9-5 box office job, they're content. (this is a point towards 'not plural')

some of them find happiness some of them find love, some of them find purpose, because that's what people need, proving that the "innies" are fundamentally people. (point towards 'plural')

i think a lot of the show focuses on the terror of waking up without memories, the utter horror aspect of it, and usually i'm quick to jump to "well this is the writers using d.i.d as a horror trope" because most of the time it is. (point towards 'not plural')

with severance; the horror aspects of the show are Real Terrifying Plural Experiences. as a system watching this show was lowkey eye-opening because i can show it to singlets and tell them "this is what its like." then they'll have a better understanding of my system and by extension other systems as well even if on just a surface level (point towards 'plural')

a lot of the struggles and conflicts in the show are centered around the "innies"(headmates) disagreeing with the "outies"(hosts) goals and ideas, etc etc there's LOTS of conflict between the two and absolutely NO communication between the two. (point towards 'plural')

the company who they all work for, has MANY strict restrictions on the "innies" ability to do almost anything, they are there to work and that is it. "innies" cannot communicate with "outies" and "outies" don't want to communicate with their "innies"(Schrodinger's point. could be either.)

SO. long answer; there are many many MANY Experiences shown, that are Real to Systems, yes the show frames it as a "wouldn't this be fucked up?" scenario, but it Is real and it IS (albeit. maybe slightly less? fucked up?) in real life and in real systems

(i say slightly less fucked up bc i believe it is more flawed and miserable for a company to do that to its employees, given the (outies) employees agreed to it, its almost endogenic, in that the systems didnt form in childhood trauma ,, and "became" systems intentionally, which isnt how plurality actually works, point for 'not plural,')
