Dad Damian
Strangely enough with the anti’s going around some maribat ideas hit me. (Maybe I have something for degrading idk). But this idea was inspired by this post by @moonlitceleste and a past post I had which was a very long time ago. I really like the concept of this and I kinda wanted to add on to that so this is it. (Also if someone could tell me how to put a “keep reading” below my post to keep them short that would be much appreciated).
Marinette is like 11 or 12 when something happened to her parents, maybe she was hanging out with her friends and her parents were in a tragedy that ended up in them passing away. Of course this ends up taking a toll on her, she has her friends there with her but it still has a big affect in her life. Maybe Alya’s parents are fostering her since she and their daughter are very close.
Damian is probably around 21-23, idk if he’s still robin but he goes to Paris to investigate the tragedy that ended Marinette’s parents and as his vigilante self he interrogated the witnesses and other victims. None of them were really close to the dupain-changs so they decide to bring in their daughter who is unfortunately now an orphan. (Btw Damian has growth in this)
So Damian, as his vigilante self, see’s this tiny little girl who looks scared and tired. She doesn’t speak to him or to anyone other than her friends and foster family. When he asks questions about the event he was sent to investigate she just nods her her head and looks close to breaking down over and over again. He knows she’s scared. He knows it’s hard for her to think about her parents.
Later after finding few leads as to who attacked the victims, he goes back to Gotham were he researches the families who were attacked. Marinette’s file comes on and he was reading through the file and there was a report with the relationship she had with her parents and see’s that she and her parents were really close to each other. Even though he may not know her well, in a way he can understand how painful it is to loose someone dear to you. Damian is sent back to Paris but as Damian, not his vigilant self, to be there in case of a nother attack.
So he goes back to Paris and decided to stay in an apartment since he might be there a while. He tries to get close to a few of the people around the area to try and get some more info on the attack. After stages of awkward moments he manages to get close to the Cesaire family. He gets close to them and Marinette. She doesn’t really see Alya’s parents as her parents because she feels guilt since she lost her’s, they are more of caring uncle and auntie.
Another attack happens a few months later and the attacker reveals themselves as Hawkmoth. Marinette and Adrien get their miraculous but obviously have a harder time defeating the akuma since they don’t have accurate training. The family and Damian are freaking out because they can’t find Marinette in all the chaos. Damian separates himself to go into his vigilante uniform and fight the akuma. When he gets close enough he sees two little kids struggling to dodge the blows. He notices the hesitation and body language of the little girl and connects the dots to Marinette and BOOM!! Adopting genetics kick in.

Alicia runs up to the girl and attempts to take it off of her, only for the necklace not able to snap off, even with the amount of force Alice places on it
Damian finally registers what happens, dropping everything he had in his arms and rushes to pull apart the two girls, quickly apologizing to the girl’s parents, whom both look furious with Damian
They talk about having to take their daughter to the doctor during a busy week, Damian forgetting this was Europe and not the US
“Will this cover the expenses? I heavily apologize for what my daughter has done.”
The parents paled upon seeing the large quantity of money Damian had given them, quickly giving it back
Who was this man?!
Damian refuses to take the money back and quickly goes to calming Alicia down, asking her what was going on
“That’s Maman’s necklace! I know it is! Maybe they look the same, but I know it’s her’s! It has the same aura as Maman!”
Damian didn’t really understand what she had meant by aura, but went back to the parents (after telling Alicia to stay put by the shopping bags) to ask about the necklace
“We-we don’t actually know.”
Damian crouches down to see the other girl, hiding behind her parents
“What’s your name?”
“X-Xochitl Descoteaux.”
“Xochitl, can I ask where you got the necklace from?” He watched the girl tense up. Not good. “You’re not in trouble, it’s just that Alicia thought it was hers.” He looked at his daughter before looking at Xochitl. “She lost it yesterday right before school ended, so she really misses her necklace. It was a very special gift from her mother.”
He watched Xochitl purse her lips and fiddle with the necklace, showing the pendant to Damian, in which he placed between his two fingers.
“M-my friend Ronald gave it to me.”
“And do you know where he got it from?” Xochitl shook her head. “That’s alright.” Damian patted her head, not taking the necklace from her.
Damian apologized once more and grabbed the bags and Alicia, tuning out her screams at him as they made their way back home, ignoring the glances he got from passersby.
“Why didn’t you take it away from her?” Alicia asked, stomping around the room while Damian placed bags all around the living room, trying his best to juggle a phone call and his tablet. “M. Wayne!”
“Not now Alicia. I have to-”
“M. Wayne! Why didn’t you-”
“I need to make this phone call, so please-”
“M. Wayne!”
“Alicia, I’m trying to adjust the tracker I-”
“DAD! WILL YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME!”
Damian turned to face his daughter, Alfred on the other line, repeating a distant ‘Master Damian?’
“What did you just call me?”
“Sorry. It’s just that you didn’t listen to me and I-” cue Alicia crying and Damian panicking
After calming Alicia down (ice cream being brought to the apartment), Damian told Alicia it was alright to call him that if she wanted to
It was a secret plan and Damian couldn’t help but wish she’d start to call him that.
“I didn’t take the necklace so that we can do this.” He shows her a tracking device and bug to hear everything that Xochitl was saying.
“Everything?”
“Everything.” They listened, holding their breaths to hear what was going on
“-he did know.” They heard Xochitl say. “Ronald saw who threw it, but he didn’t want to say who it was.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“It might be someone who doesn’t like Alicia but is friends with him.”
“So you have an idea?”
“Kinda.” They heard Xochitl huff. “I think I know who it is.”
“Who is it dear?”
“Adeline Neuville from the other class.”

Parents definitely came up with the cookies and milk idea so that they’d have a snack while they slaved for their ungrateful brats who try to wake them up at ungodly hours.
“Dad?”
Tim groans in his sleep. Maybe it’s just a dream. Or a nightmare, rather.
“Dad, wake up.”
He groans and tries to bury his face deeper into the pillow. It’s not going to work. It’ll just escalate. He knows this.
Tim reaches over to shove his husband out of bed to take care of it. But his hand just lands on cool, smooth flannel.
Right. Still away for work.
The mattress sinks a bit as one of the kids climbs onto the bed.
Then a small finger jabs into his ribs.
Dad Damian
So I decided to change the whole idea of this except Damian adopting Marinette. I remember reading a fic that had Sabine as part of the league and I thought of a different idea that I really liked for this au. So here we go!
Damian and the rest of the Batfam were on a mission to stop the League of Assassins from recruiting more people. Since Sabine was formally in the league, she had to “repay” the Al Ghul family for not killing her. She heard that they had been looking for more people to build up the league. She had a daughter, sure she was an infant but she would soon learn. What good would the baby bring her? So she gave up her daughter to them at 8 months. She was 8 months when she left her in the hands of a demon.
At this point Marinette was maybe 1 an a half years old when the Batfam came into the picture. Damian was chasing his mother who had her in her arms. His mother got away, but Damian saw that she was still as heartless like she always was. The reason she got away was because she threw little Marinette off the roof and he couldn’t do two things at once so he dove in for Marinette.
Once the assassin’s retreated the family met up again. There Damian was going to give the baby to Bruce to take care of her but she cried with everyone but him. So that meant he was on baby duty, great. When they got to Gotham they went to the hospital to check to see if she was in a healthy condition. After that they went through the whole orphan thing. (I don’t know the process well). The place was unable to take her in. The bats decided to be her foster home.
Damian was more or less always with her, against his own will. After some time though he actually enjoyed her company. He would take her training with him and loved how she just tried to mimick his movement. He would take her on walks with Titus who adored her. He taught her how to say some words and all that. And practiced walking around.
A few months later during dinner, Bruce left for a moment to answer a call. It was a call for Marinette, they had found her a family. He would never admit it but he hated the news. He got back to the table and told everyone the news. There eyes all dropped. Especially Damian’s. Marinette saw this and didn’t like it. She turned to Damian and put a hand on his cheek.
“Papa?”
He first word. Her first word was papa. She said it at Damian. That did it.
He was so close to breaking down in tears yet he managed to whisper out something. “No no... she’s my daughter. I’ll be taking care of her.” He hugged her tightly for a moment before letting go to look at her. Everything was silent.
“My daughter.”

Stupid idea really. Dad Damian?
This is just something that my mind came up with when I was supposed to be asleep but, hey here we are. FYI about the other updates, I now have some more time since my school closed down so expect maybe 2-3 updates in a few weeks. Anyway, I don’t remember how but my mind just went, ‘what if older Damian adopted Marinette?’.... I’m gonna be honest I kinda liked it so I’m just going to post some random ideas about it. I may or may not make a mini series about it.
Ages?
I haven’t worked all of them out these are just estimates they may not even make sense. Alfred? Bruce 44, dick 28, Jason 25, Tim 22, Damian 19-20? Ml class 17-18, Marinette 15 almost 16. (I like the idea of Mari skipping a grade or two.
Marinette’s parents?
I think I might have them be... neglectful towards her? Maybe not on purpose, like they don’t know how to take care of her, not prepared but still kept her. They don’t treat her as a daughter more like a little adult. She had to learn how to do things on her own.
Marinette in general?
She has a lower confidence than in canon and is more quiet as well. I don’t know if I am going to add salt, maybe a little. She is ladybug in this but doesn’t have the ladybug onesie. Her suit is isn’t skin tight and the colors are darker. Her suit has a hood attached to it, as for the yo-yo it’s like the earlier concept. These are random screenshots that I saved from the wiki.
So her yo-yo can turn into a staff and is a bug-bomb? I guess.
Dad Damian?
The news about the akumas doesn’t get out of Paris, the mayor doesn’t think it’s that serious, ladybug always fixes things. So he’s in Paris because of business. He starts of small with a modeling contract. The Agreste brand. He does change his last name for that time period cuz Wayne is an eye catcher and he didn’t want to be favored in the brand just because of the name.
Anyways the way that I want Mari and Damian to meet is something along the line of her getting hurt destranforming, tikki comes out to see if she’s ok, she is not. She has caught the Akama but hasn’t casted the cure so she stayed injured. Then Damian finds her. Tikki being panicked and has no other option comes up to him and pleads him to take her to the guardian. Now of course Damian is confused and thinks he’s going mad because... tiny fary, hurt kid. But tikki tell’s him briefly what happened and what she and Marinette are. So he takes them to the guardian where he heals her.
Master fu is understanding and talks to him about their situation. He himself is getting old and can’t really train Marinette full time. Damian has heard stories about the miraculous in the league of assassins but he thought they were just myths. Master fu tells him their situation in Paris. Damian doesn’t say it out loud but is furious at Fu for choosing a young girl to take the role as one of the most powerful magic holders. Fu tells him that he has little time left and since he knows their identities he wants to tell him if he’s open to the idea of becoming the next guardian. Damian accepts the offer.
When Fu loses his memories Damian became the new guardian training Marinette as well. Not just in miraculous but how to properly fight in battle without risking your self. After some time she opens up to him and he becomes her father figure. When she’s tired he’ll tell her to take a break or when she does very good in class he’ll take her out for a day. Marinette at first doesn’t know how to react because her birth parents just ignore her, in her eyes Damian is papa while her birth parents are just Sabine and Tom. Father-daughter relationship.
Maybe I might post a part based on this later or tomorrow but idk. Goodbye!
