Literally squealing like a little girl. Its so good. I love it with all my heart.
Recently I was thinking about Kaz and Inej and their life after CK
I have been seeing a lot of AUs where Kaz and Inej have a baby, and this thought popped In to my head.
I find it wonderful to think that maybe one day they both manage to heal enough to build a family, but wouldn’t it be more in character if they adopted a kid?
Just immagine.
Inej is saving this people from a slavers like the ones that kidnapped her, and there’s this little girl that’s younger then usual, she has no family and so Inej decides to her her family, and she takes her back home with her in ketterdam where her and Kaz adopt her.
Or
One day a little kid shows up at the Slat, he’s about the age Kaz was when Jordie died. Like Kaz he is all alone and looking for a way to survive, but instead of giving him a job Kaz takes him in, and once Inej comes home they raise him together.
They choose to adopt kids in bad circumstances because they don’t want them to grow up the way they did, and instead give them the most wonderful, loving, happy family any kid could dream of.
They take in this kid that had the potential of growing up to be like them, broken and hurt, and give them the chance they were never given 🖤
wip wednesday
it's that time again. remember when i got carried away with parent!kanej headcanons. well, i let them keep carrying me away.

inej smiles and takes a step toward the boy. like a cornered animal, his lips peel back from his teeth and he squares his stance. better. raising her hands again, she tries to approach him but fear has made him unpredictable.
“don’t move!” he snaps. if kaz had been here to hear that tone the boy would never speak another word.
inej stops, nods. “okay.”
when she’s a few paces clear of her purse, he lunges for it and stands again in a matter of seconds, eyes never leaving her. that’s also better. his survival instincts may yet keep him alive.
“think about what i said,” inej insists before he can scuttle away. though maybe not the silver six, she thinks.
never turning his back, he retreats into the shadows.
stroking her belly, inej murmurs, “your papa is not going to take this news well."
What if Kaz’s daughter became a cop
Also I think about grown up Catherine a lot and the type of person she’d turn out to be. I don’t think she’d do the military/mercenary thing per se - tbh I see her so deeply affected by her father’s death that she studies criminal justice and idk maybe foreign relations at university, then gets accepted to Quantico and becomes a detective for the FBI. (Tell me you don’t see adult!Catherine in a tailored suit with a badge at her hip, complete with Daddy’s trademark scowl when she’s about to question someone) And her personal side project when she’s not working is investigating her father’s cold case with the hope of eventually getting revenge, hoping that anyone even remotely involved might still be alive, or at least as some way for her to get closure. I see her going to question people who might have known her dad and them getting all weird and nostalgic, like “Holy god, you look just like him” and maybe moving in a little too close/touching her face but unlike her father, she’s frigid and emotionally closed off (for obvious reasons) so she just kinda stiffens and stonewalls them while keeping her hand on the gun at her hip and very curtly tells them to sit down because she just wants to ask them a few questions. And it sounds more like a threat than anything else.
Occasionally though, if you really set her off, she has her daddy’s spitfire temper, and she’ll unleash merciless rage/violence on you if you’ve pushed her too far or don’t give her what she wants in a timely manner. This was demonstrated once when she nearly killed a suspect while “interrogating” him and was put on temporary suspension. She’s a friggin loose cannon for sure, but she’s a damn good agent and while of ambiguous moral standing, she’s ultimately one of the good guys, just like her dad. She just uses questionable methods sometimes to maintain the balance, as it were.
Good lord, Special Agent Catherine Miller, yet another thing to add to the daunting list of ‘fics I need to write.’
