Daddy's Here
Have a little Dad! Schlatt fic
A loud cry woke you both from a somewhat restful sleep, a rare commodity as of a few months ago when your daughter was born.
Schlatt groaned from next to you.
"She shouldn't be hungry for another few hours but I'll check on her-" you start, tiredly shuffling the blankets off of you to sit up.
"No I'll grab her, go back to sleep." He says, rolling over to peck your lips before standing and stretching, his broad back popping.

Shuffling down the hall the crying grew louder, and Schlatt entered the nursery with a 'shh' as he flicked on the light.
"What's" a yawn "a matter hon? Hm?"
Stepping to the crib he leaned down and picked up the fussy infant.
"Come're" he cooed, voice strained from the added weight.
"What's wrong, baby?" he bounced her in his arms, rocking back and forth to settle her a bit.
Lifting the baby in the air a bit he sniffed. "You smell alright, you okay?" he asked, turning to the rocking chair, and settling in.
Catherine sniffled as she calmed down, nuzzling into his shirt.
"Shh... Daddy's here. Daddy's got ya." he murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
The deep timbre of his voice hummed a quiet tune as they rocked, baby settled on his chest. With the peaceful setting now that he'd calmed her, Schlatt let his eyes rest for a while.

A few hours later when it was time to feed her again you woke to see Schlatt not next to you.
Walking into the nursery you found him in the now still rocking chair, your daughter sleeping softly in his arms.
"Hey sleepy." you whispered, leaning down to kiss his hairline.
"Hmm?"
"You're off baby duty. I can take her now."
"Mmhm..." Schlatt drifted back off, his arms tightening around the baby girl.
Smiling, you pulled a throw from the blanket next to the chair and draped it over them both before slipping out the door and turning the light off, letting them get a few more minutes of sleep before she'd eventually wake him up the way she had the night before.
A/N OKay this is also kind of bad but It's a thought I had at like 11 at night and I just wanted to write it out
