Bloodletter Hellblades

This molten metal looking blade is based strongly upon a YouTube tutorial by "2brushes1cup". Be sure to check it out, if you are looking to achieve a similar effect.

Method

Base coat the the whole blade in Dead White.

Paint in Flash Gitz Yellow, covering most of the blade. Thin your paint and drag to the outside, so more pigment is left there.

Repeat with Fire Dragon Bright, covering less of the blade again.

Use Evil Sunz Scarlet to cover a small amount of the outside of the blade, using the same technique again.

Paint a small thin layer of Mournfang Brown around the outer edge of the blade, all of the way around. I added a wash of very thinned Mournfang Brown in around the hilt too.

Add in small amounts of Rhinox Hide on the extremities of the blade and as a recess shade around the hilt too.

Touch up anything around the blade that you think needs work and re-establish the white in the centre too. I used some Dead White again to keep it very bright.

Add in a few random small patches and lines of Rhinox Hide. The idea is to make it look like slag floating in the molten metal.

I went for a slightly darker skin tone on this batch and now I'm not sure which I prefer. I'm leaning towards a 50/50 split at this point.
