Whether or not you’re vegan, it’s of everyone’s interest that we begin to call for factory farms to be AT THE VERY LEAST drastically reformed as a start. It’s not enough, but it’s a start.

Start demanding 24/7 live camera footage inside slaughterhouses. Start demanding comprehensive bans on gestation pens and forced insemination. Start demanding wide open pastures (cage-free is not actually cage-free). Start demanding painless procedures of killing and set strict and decreased limits on kills per minute, absolutely NO rushing for the sake of profit. This is for the sake of not only animals but workers as well, many of whom are immigrants.

This will significantly decrease access to store-bought animal products as it stands, but we cannot accept exploitation of animals and workers for the sake of convenience. It is not worth it for meat and dairy and eggs to be as accessible as they are with the way they are produced. It is not good that we’re used to this.

As for long term, it’s highly unlikely that any system of industrial agriculture can reliably remain ethical, safe to work in, or remotely environmentally friendly. Factory farming needs to be abolished.

You can buy from local farms if they are ensured to have sufficiently ethical procedures, meaning the welfare of the animals are protected throughout their lives and their deaths are painless. If this is not the case, you can learn rifle hunting or buy from hunters.

And yes, all of this can be done whilst also acknowledging issues within mass scale vegetable farms and cosmetics.

But please, let’s try to do something. Or at least start the conversation and KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING. Please don’t just forget this or think it’s hopeless.

Animal breeding is so disgusting!!! As an antinatalist who firmly believes bringing a new life into the world will do nothing good for them or anyone else, I do NOT AT ALL support the breeding of any animals, farmed, wild, or domestic. Taking a job as an animal breeder has gotta be one of the most EMBARRASSING jobs ever. Imagine getting paid to bring a new life into the world, letting it experience all of the cons of living in this hellhole, they don't have to exist and suffer the pain of being hurt, scared, sad,_ hungry, or thirsty, but us humans are so selfish that we don't care about that, we just want cute fullbreds instead of taking care of the less fortunate animals in desperate need of help. Thousands of animals get euthanized everyday, but nah us humans don't care well keep breeding animals for our own selfish annoying ass desires its a fuckin kink at this point. We love to say how much we love animals and dont want them to get abused while simultaneously not even taking in strays, adoptees or pound animals and instead consciously choosing That's... Definitely something. Why do people love breeding domestic animals instead of just adopting their own, giving it a much better life than the one it endures in a cage, confined and unable to do much, inducing depression and sadness. I do support euthanasia because it is a painless and peaceful way to die, and I believe humans should have their version as well to prevent a painful and stressful death. I hate people so much, why would you bring a new life into this already suffering planet just so you can have the sake of giving your dog an offspring or getting a fullbred or having a baby animal??? Literally just adopt an animal from the pound or shelter you can actually HELP lives instead of tending for new ones that don't even exist yet like fuck this I'm out man

Australian farm animal sanctuary Edgar's Mission stepped in to help- having no clue that Clarabelle was pregnant. When this poor mama gave birth to her little girl, she assumed she would be taken by the humans, as the dairy farm had done to all Clarabelle's past babies. So clever Clarabelle decided to hide her newborn in the tall grass. Little did she know that a sanctuary and a dairy farm are incredibly different, and baby Valentine was hers to keep forever. The two are still together to this day, valued not by the profit they can reap, but for the love they have for one another and for being alive.
