What makes me hate Birdie so much is that he is a very terrible human being, from the very beginning of his online presence he has been nothing but awful. But all people see(from outside the community at least(queer community and art community)) is “aroace and gay ooh la la~, evil autism!!” and now it’s just free range for everybody to make fun of anyone with those labels.

Birdie being an openly queer person is somehow worse than everything else they’ve done. Now everyone is using them as an excuse to make fun of people that look like him, or identify similarly to him.

I’m fat, I have dyed hair and piercings, I am scemo, I like decora kei, AND I’m aroace. I am the exact same person as Birdie but the difference is I’m not a fucking creep/groomer, but nobody is going to care about that.

Every time an openly queer gen z person with unconventional labels and alternative style gets outed as a creep it hurts all of us and it fills me with so much rage because a cishet person (or cishet presenting person) will either be met with sympathy, or can just take a 2 week break, come back with a half-ass apology and things go back to normal.

But no, queer people can never catch a break. That audio clip from Birdie’s video is still being posted, and people are still mocking queer and differently abled identities. OTHER QUEER PEOPLE ARE DOING THIS TOO BTW!!! Other fucking queer people. The community is eating its self from the inside out because everyone is so desperate for cishet approval.

They see us all the same way and making fun of others who haven’t done anything wrong won’t make them see us any differently.
