I’ve been wanting to help more people in my community, and in research of what helps and what doesn’t, I’ve found that women are completely left out of the equation. There are plenty of guides for “Homeless Care Packages”, but there’s maybe been one or two that even mention menstrual care. About a million that mention the Bible, though!

I have a list going already, but for those with any suggestions: if you’re a woman, and you are currently or ever have been homeless, what would you want to have to take care of yourself?

Like you cannot be giving me examples of women weaponzing patriarchy against men and call it misandry and "therefore misandry=misogyny". (yes this is from my misandry=/=misogyny post. I was NOT expecting this much discourse over it but oh well.)

Male victims of SA and abuse are not taken seriously, laughed at and shamed/insulted (called "gay" etc) because of gender role enforced by patriarchy.

Who would have thought gender roles hurt men too and women can also perpetuate misogyny.....

this is a vulnerable personal post for me but maybe gyns can relate and help me out a bit.

I feel like the fact that many gender criticals (not radfems) have shifted to the right since advocating against trans ideology sometimes makes me a bit more sympathetic to nuancefem/TIRF takes than a lot of my mutuals.

I don’t believe trans women are female. I think that is denying reality and deeply dangerous for the possibility of feminism that has any real bite. Trying to do feminist analysis while trying to include trans women as females is like trying to swim with a 50 pound weight attached to your foot. I feel much more intellectually free and mentally healthy since I stopped engaging in doublethink.

I don’t believe gender is real. It’s obviously culturally dependent stereotypes.

But when I’m out in my city and I see prostituted transwomen of color on the street corner I feel nothing but anger that people in the richest country in earth still have to sell their bodies to make rent. I feel empathy for the transsexuals, I sometimes make my partner stop to watch, if they’re surrounded by a group of men and seem threatened (despite the fact that they can probably defend themselves marginally better than me)

the existence of transsexuals who are legitimately disadvantaged (definitely not the white transwomen yapping on tumblr) does make me worry about the existence of GC’s who are willing to make compromises when it comes to working with the right.

Like yes female trans people are far more likely to be raped than make trans people and they should remain at the focus of our analysis, but I think sometimes there’s a caricature on radblr of all transwomen as not facing any sort of male violence/not being perceived in society as different than “cis” males, and this just isn’t true- TWOC are in higher danger (often due to the men in their own communities yeah, but that is how most male violence works)

Maybe this is why although I’m really fucked up about the health impacts of hormones and surgery that were presented to me as harmless I’m still anti banning HRT for adults (I know many rads share this take), and I’m of a mixed mind on the idea of banning SRS- though I do think that neutrosis surgeries need to be illegal

I do think most trans ppl especially female ones would be gnc allies to our movement if we didn’t have medicalization as prevalent and easily accessible as it is and I think that needs to remain at the core of our movement. I have way more in common with a nonbinary TIF than I do with Anna slatz.

A lot of the trans identified people in my community (especially female ones) have started to critique hookup culture, pornography, and choice feminism. TIRF thought gaining popularly is still a positive development for us rads I think
