‘Ah, the cute psycho killer.’ x Dan Howell (part 2)
as requested a long, long time ago, a sequel to the ‘I’m a cute psycho killer, isn’t it obvious’ one shot. Enjoy xx.
A year later, and [Y/F/N] still dragged you to unwanted Halloween events. And you still hated them and were still as prepared as ever – so, not at all. [Y/F/N] refused to let you wear the same costume as last year, since that was ‘so not done’. So you decided to go in all black, and called yourself ‘the black void’, everybody’s biggest fear. [Y/F/N] rolled her eyes when explained it, but she finally gave in, knowing you’d sabotage the whole thing. And she still wanted you to come. ‘It’s the same party as last year, do you still remember that one?’ You didn’t really like to look at her, since she had again gone all overboard with fake blood. This year she was a bit dramatic and decided to be a full on corpse bride. So you just nodded while holding on to the pole in the metro. ‘Maybe that boy will be there again. Then you can kick his ass for not texting you.’ Dan had indeed never texted you. It had bother you for a long while, but eventually you forgot about it. Until now. She just had to bring it up. You pulled the sleeves of your sweater quickly over your hands, slowly nodding at your best friend, while feeling like jumping into the black void you were supposed to embody. Luckily the metro ride didn’t last too long, and you both quickly arrived at the house, or ‘party central’ as [Y/F/N] liked to call it. She immediately went inside, but you lingered outside for just a bit longer. Maybe he wasn’t even here. Maybe this was all in your head. Or maybe it wasn’t. Maybe he was in there, being stupidly cute and awkward. ‘Oh, whatever,’ you sighed and walked towards the entrance. ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’ You mumbled to yourself. But as soon as you walked inside, you immediately made eye contact with a tall guy, as if he was watching the door for the whole time. And if that wasn’t the worse, he walked straight to you, waving his arms around in an obnoxious way, hitting a girl in the head making her spill her drink. ‘Hey, cute psycho killer! Hey, [Y/N]! Wait!’ ‘Oh god,’ you huffed, holding your hand in front of your face and walking outside again. This was the worst idea ever. Unfortunately, you didn’t came that far. ‘Wait up!’ And then he was beside you. You refused to look at him, while he was panting as if he just ran a marathon. ‘Pfoe, that was a wild ride,’ he joked. ‘Thát girl is going to hate me forever,’ he laughed, pointing to the house, probably referring to the girl he basically knocked over. ‘Well.’ He then said, filling up the awkward silence and shrugging his shoulders. ‘Hm.’ I just kept staring at the ground, hoping he eventually would go away, but Dan wasn’t that good at taking hints. ‘Are you, eh, are you okay?’ I took a deep breath, finally looking up at him, hating myself for even thinking about how cute he looked – even with the drizzle of fake blood on his head. ‘You never texted me,’ you finally were able to say. ‘Yeah, about that …’ Dan began, but you just shook your head. ‘It’s fine, really. It’s not like I already had imagined our whole conversation and first date in my head. It’s not like, ha, I thought, well he could be the man I’d marry someday. No no, it’s all fine. It’s not like my heart was broken, even though we had like one conversation, one quiet shitty conversation if I may add, that had me kinda head over heels, and it’s nothing. It’s fine.’ ‘[Y/N], can I just interrupt your very intriguing thoughts for just a second?’ ‘I really don’t want to listen to your pathetic excuses. I know why you didn’t text me, you probably thought, woah what a weirdo, glad I got rid of her and –‘ ‘I really did wanted to text you, [Y/N],’ he interrupted you, finally shutting you up. ‘But, as the idiot I am, I lost my phone, don’t even ask me how, found it back, everything was deleted, and God, did I ask around to find you. But apparently we were the only two people that weren’t drunk at that party because whenever I ask them about it, they all say,’ he made quotation marks with his fingers, ‘”that was such a sick party maaannn, too bad I don’t remember shiiiit”, so I never found you and I was hoping, almost praying – yes on Halloween when the gates to hell are wide open – that you would show up. And thank God – or thank Satan, I’m not sure, - you showed up.’ He took a deep breath, since he said all of that with barely taking any time to breath, as if he was afraid you’d cut him off again. ‘Oh. Oh.’ You started to realize that you had been overreacting. Again. ‘I’m so sorry.’ ‘So, before you run off, please, give me your number, and Facebook, and Twitter, and Instagram, and hell, even your e-mail address and linked-in account. Just every social media you’ve ever been on, so I’m sure I’ll never lose you again.’ Dan smiled, handing over his phone to you. You slowly blinked, taking his phone, and absentmindedly started to give you all of your accounts. When you were done, you gave him back his phone. ‘So, cute psycho killer again?’ He then said, referring to your costume. ‘Oh,’ you looked down, as if you forgot what you were even wearing. ‘No, that’s so last year,’ you smiled, still a bit fazed. ‘I’m a black void now.’ ‘That’s actually very scary,’ Dan frowned. ‘I decided to go with death emo boy.’ He pointed to the fake blood on his neck and cheek and his black clothes. ‘Emo’s so not dead, though,’ you argued, grinning. ‘I know right? Anyway, give me your phone, so if I lose mine again, at least you can yell at me for not texting you,’ Dan smiled. ‘Maybe that’s not a bad idea. However if you do not text me this time, I will come for you and suck you up in my black void,’ You said it before you could realize it. Dan tried to hold back his laugh, but he really couldn’t help himself and started laughing. ‘I’ll take you up on that,’ he grinned. ‘But at least buy me a drink first,’ he winked awkwardly, still grinning like an idiot.
