I’m wondering how long S/O have cuddle/ lovingly hold the main papyri hostage until they fall asleep. I imagine they try to fight sleep as much as possible or do they except sleep if their S/O tells them it’s bed time?
Let me offer you: all Papyruses.
Undertale Papyrus - It can take quite a long time. Papyrus loves to cuddle, but he's also very talkative in the evening. He is still sort of scared of going to sleep, even if it's better now that you're here. Just the habit of sleeping late and the fear of his recurrent nightmares, he guesses. Anyway, he will try to find talking subjects for long hours, hoping you will fall asleep before him so he can clean the house or something. Little did he know that talking is tiring and you have more patience than he thought you have, and eventually, he talks himself to sleep without even realizing it. It's funny, though, to see him try to talk as he is half sleepy. You can have surprising love confessions this way.
Underswap Papyrus - It's not that difficult. Honey loves to cuddle, and he always falls asleep in the middle of the cuddle sessions. The only difficulty is forcing him into bed. Honey is a big reader, and if he's focused on his reading, he will bargain to read yet another chapter even though it's the tenth "last chapter i promise". But once he's in bed, it takes not five minutes of cuddling for him to fall asleep.
Underfell Papyrus - You will fall asleep first. Edge's rule is to never fall asleep before his S/O, just in case. He will fight sleep until you're asleep, then guard you for an hour or so, and then only he goes to sleep. It's an old habit from the Underground. He doesn't like to feel like you have to protect him when he's the one supposed to do that. He loves the cuddles though. Edge is cute in the evening, all sweet and trying to make his S/O safe enough to sleep. It's his night routine.
Horrortale Papyrus - It doesn't take very long. Willow is usually exhausted at the end of the day as he's doing a ton of stuff everyday. He's more than happy to go to sleep. He cuddles because he wants you to know he loves you, but ten minutes after he abandons you for deep sleep land.
Horrorswap Papyrus - It depends. In the good days, it doesn't take very long, as he loves sleeping, it's like his favorite thing ever. His little routine is usually to play with his S/O's hands and it pretty much puts him to sleep in minutes. In the bad days though, usually after a panic attack, it's hard to get him to focus enough to sleep. He's jumpy at any sound and shaking, and even if he's obviously very happy to cuddle to comfort himself, sometimes, he just can't sleep. This is not a fun time for him, as when he doesn't sleep, he struggles to be functionnal the next day and it can cause another panic attack to show up.
Horrorfell Papyrus - Like Edge, he prefers to be the last one falling asleep. And I mean in general. Chief often drives around the farm on his wheelchair just to make sure everyone is safe and sleeping, and only then only there does he authorize himself to relax. If you drag him into bed before that, he will most likely pretend to sleep to appease you and then go to make his tour anyway. It's a little stronger than Edge, and you can tell it's a kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder due to trauma Underground. He lost too many people, he's scared he will lose more and he can't let it happen.
Horrorswapfell Papyrus - Tiger is mostly nocturnal, so it's complicated to get him to sleep at night. He tries to fix it, but he doesn't feel comfortable enough on the Surface to give up that habit. It's just that at night, he's less at risk of facing someone who wants to attack him. It's completely irrational as he knows by now there is no one coming to attack him, but he doesn't feel safe knowing everyone is asleep if something happen. He sleeps a lot during the day, though, as he knows at least his brother has his back if something happens. If you work during the night though, he's the perfect match.
Swapfell Papyrus - Well, it depends on his level of excitement. If you tire him out throughout the day, there's little problem getting him to sleep. He loves cuddles, and he loves to sleep. If not, well, good luck with that. Rus will find ways to bother you, even more if he notices you're trying to force him to sleep. Rus doesn't like being force to do something and will find alternatives ways to disappoint you to prevent it.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - It takes no effort for Coffee to go to sleep, and he's actually looking for it. He loves his night routine with his S/O, and he could die to cuddle for many more hours before going to sleep. Coffee is clingy and you're for sure not going to be cold during the night as he's choking you against him like some overgrown plushie.
Outertale Papyrus - This is a nightmare. Sun is a nanny, and he is a STRESSED nanny. That means in the evening, he will prepare 200 things in relation to his next day of work, including preparing meals, activities, cleaning the house, and dealing with the parents of the kids. He will get up at least five times before finally settling in, or you'll have to physically restrain him to be sure he doesn't leave the bed again. He will still argue and complain for a solid hour before you convince him to relax and sleep, with mixed results. He's trying, but it's not exactly a success yet.
Dancetale Papyrus - It depends! When he's on tour, he's ending his shows at impossible hours so his sleep schedule is a mess, and he will struggle to sleep, even with his S/O trying to help. During the months of break, though, he's more than happy to go to sleep with his S/O, cuddling in bed. He likes calm moments, as his life is full of excitement all the time, and it can be tiring. He loves being an artist, but he's glad when he can have a normal life as well.
Dancefell Papyrus - You won't have peace before you confiscate his damn phone. Tango has a screen addiction, and he likes to watch the statistics of his TikTok grow. To convince him to sleep, you have to force him sometimes as he can stay awake all night looking at his phone. Once he has no distractions anymore, he falls asleep in minutes cuddling you. Be careful though, he will try to have his phone back after you fall asleep.
Farmtale Papyrus - You barely say good night that he's already sleeping lol. Ben is a farmer so his days are pretty exhausting and when it's time to sleep, it's time to sleep. You're sort of offended he didn't even offer a hug.
Mafiatale Papyrus - Yeah, right, he's so sleeping right now, oooh, look at how much sleep he gets. The second you're out, he leaves the bed and escapes by the window. You'll never know he didn't spend the night here. It's best you don't know what he's doing on his nights anyway.
Mafiafell Papyrus - Please, yes. Torpedo is working all the time, and he's desperate to spend more time with his S/O. So when he's there in the evening, he takes his time, cooks dinner, and then spends time cuddling in bed. He probably won't sleep right away, as he knows work might call him at any hour, but he wants to cherish those small moments where he doesn't have to be the leader of the mafia.
Disbelief Papyrus - It depends on how close you are to when he left the Underground. The first months are extremely difficult, and he has horrible nightmares that make him want to not sleep anymore. It will pass with the years, and a night routine. He feels better when things repeat again and you quickly become his comfort zone. He needs his evening cuddles before sleeping, and he's not sleeping if he doesn't have them, as he knows old demons will come back to hurt him.
