Whether or not those last two dialogues from the Strange Occurrences Event continue, I’m finally ending the event itself cause that was ages ago and i forgot. With the continued choice in the polls being to seek out the unexplained noises in the Swap-variant worlds, another AU has broken through the Void! My take on Danceswap is now available!

Introducing:

Jive- Danceswap’s Papyrus! Despite his seemingly lax personality, he’s often the life of the party! You’d never guess how energetic he really is unless you met him on the dance floor. Jive is at his most confident in a crowd and is concerned with very few things in life, which occasionally causes conflict. “it’s not a big deal, y’know?”

His magic is a vibrant coral color and despite his style of dance, he wouldn’t be caught dead wearing anything one might actually perform jive in. Catch him at the club in sweatpants, jiving it up with anyone and everyone.

He’s currently technically unemployed, but he’s often “gifted” money to make events more exciting. This guy brings an energy that you just can’t get anywhere else!

Cadenza- Danceswap’s Sans! The complete opposite of his party-animal brother, Cadenza is a more refined dance style. He’s a renowned opera singer, and very occasionally dances ballet or ballroom styles. You may occasionally find him in group settings as well, but they’re generally the kind you spend quietly sipping champagne and pretending you’re happy with the tiny portion sizes. Where Jive has best friends in 24-hour diners, Cadenza has vague acquaintances in houses that are over 5000 sqft with 2 pools.

His magic is a true golden color, dazzlingly bright under stage lights. He dresses to fit in with his peers, although if he’s being entirely honest, most of his “brand name” clothes are dupes. He’s not that ridiculous. Although his fondness for gold jewelry is very real.

Dal Segno (Often goes by D.S. or just Segno. Jive jokingly calls him “Tapster”)- Danceswap Gaster! He’s often a middle ground between his brothers, as his preferred style of dance is tap. Things were.. tense between the two when Dal disappeared and it took awhile to find a new normal.

Dal’s been in his fair share of high-end, choreographed productions, but he’s not above winging it too. He can play the part of the royal advisor, or the reserved, mysterious stranger at a soirée (yes that’s how that word is spelled) but he’d rather throw caution to the wind and just live however he wants to. Alas, that’s not how his life played out. So, he follows the steps he’s given and he’s never off-beat.

His magic is a steely grey and he’s often forced to wear stuffy dress-code-required suits or the like. No lab coats, thankfully.

And finally-

Silk- Danceswap Grillby! You could likely guess by the name, but his style of performance revolves are aerial silks. His is a solo performance, with focus on grace and control. A staple in his acts is performing on silks while they burn, which makes each set a little different as they break or fray at different intervals.

Given the nature of his dancing, he’s not the best at other styles of dance. Silk doesn’t have that natural skill for fancy footwork like so many dance-variant monsters, however he does have crazy upper body strength. If a friend needs to practice lifts, he’s up for the task.

His flames are faintly blue-tinted at the edges, but nearly white everywhere else. Despite this, the light he gives off is quite dim compared to most fire elementals. It gives his stage an ethereal quality.

My Roommates From Another Universe - Chapter 7:

Belladonna. That was the name that your brother Damian had gifted you when you joined his special military team. The world you had been born into was run by a king. However, he was more like a dictator. Your family had long served the royal bloodline and so were in high standing. 

However, the people of the country did not like you or your family. They would never say it to your faces but you knew… and you hated it. You never wanted to be a part of that mess. You were forced into it.

Your father had tried to keep you out of it for as long as possible. Until he had gone missing and presumed dead. After that, you began your training at the age of six. Most of it was useful and relevant for the world you lived in. So, in some way, you were grateful.

Your mother taught you how to fight with swords of all types. You were pretty decent at it and after years of training, you were a master. Asha, also known as Oleander, was a political figure in the country. Ashely, also known as Saffron, was a well known and well liked philanthropist.

She was the only one in your family that the common people liked. Nathan, also known as Foxglove, was a scientist. He worked with some of your other brothers to make magic infused technology and weapons. Damian, also known as Hemlock, was the most hated in the family as he was the leader of the secret military team.

Michael, also known as Larkspur, was the head tactician for the whole military. Wars were like one giant game for him. Then, there was you. You were nothing more than a political piece. A bargaining chip. That, however, was all a cover. They were the roles you played in front of the public.

You and your siblings were elite assassins. Asha and Ashely were masters with all types of poison, medicine, and knowledge of the human body. Nathan was a master of physiological torture. Damian was all about brute force and weapons. Michael was their go to guy for any and all undercover missions.

And you? Well, you were a jack of all trades thanks to your older siblings. You often worked with Ashely or Damian during missions. During the day, you spent ninety percent of your time either with your mother or Asha.

During your time there, you wished your life had been different. Now, you just wish you had your family.

It was weird not having Saffron and Romance here. However, it was great to have the dance crew back home. It was too quiet without the six of them here. You all caught up over a homemade dinner where you had made all their favorites and they told you all about the competition. They had unsurprisingly won.

That night, the boys all fought over who would sleep with you. Even Mashup and Samba. They must have really missed you if those two were vying for a spot in your bed. Fortunately, you had a great idea. A camp out in the living room.

That seemed to calm everyone down. Over the next couple of days, you got back into the groove of your work routine. Get up early, go for a jog with Tango, Mashup, and Samba, have breakfast, and then spend the rest of the day practicing with Dance. After that, you’d come home, shower, have dinner with all your boys, and crash in bed.

It was during one of your breaks for lunch that you and Dance had gotten great news. Both humans and Monsters came in to audition for your upcoming projects! Everyone who auditioned were amazing. You’d definitely have a place for all of them. 

One of them in particular caught your attention. Butterfly, a Muffet variant, had a couple of different dance styles that all had an air of seduction to them that was absolutely mesmerizing. You wanted to see how she would look dancing your main dance style, ballet, and offered to teach her.

She had agreed rather enthusiastically. This girl was someone you wanted dancing with you in your Step-Up tribute video. When you mentioned this to Dance, his eyelights seemed to shine brighter and he suggested inviting one of his dance buddies named Grind.

He’d be one of the dancers on Dance’s side. Things were finally starting to fall into place. Now, if only you could find a place to film your music videos for Halloween.

Some general headcanons for the new guys~

Danceswap Papyrus- If you thought Jive’s reputation for being a party guy meant he was into hookups, you’re… well, not wrong, per se. He’d be down if the concept didn’t make him anxious as hell. He might be the least experienced out of all the skeletons because of his reputation. He’s fun and flirty at parties, and people assume that means he fucks??

He’s good at dancing and entertaining a crowd—he’s confident because he knows that—but he doesn’t have that confidence in the bedroom, because there’s an expectation he’s not sure he can fill. Sooo he’d rather awkwardly turn down advances than make promises he can’t keep. When a will-they-won’t-they develops, he’s the type to squirm and make attempts to connect, but he can never commit to being the one to start the physical side.

Danceswap Sans- Cadenza is many a things, and not the least of them is a romantic. Expensive candle-lit dinners, a personalized serenade in a theatre after hours, and fervid whispers in your ear as he takes you, lying on his silk sheets, moonlight pouring through the window.

It’s always all about the other person, doing whatever has them gasping his name. As soon as the bedroom door closes, the wonder in his bed is the center of his world.

He also has a particular affection, let’s say, for seeing his lover wearing expensive jewelry. Golden, preferably. Pet-names from him are often things like “gem,” “treasure,” or “pearl.”

Danceswap Gaster- Segno starts off romantic relationships the same way he does any other: on his best behavior. He’s quite accustomed to being polite, formal, and charming, but he’s looking for an excuse to let go.

Once you really know him, he’s not nearly as stuffy as he seems day-to-day, but once you get into his pants, he’s got a whole different side. He wants it rough and he wants to hear a lover moan like crazy. He has a high libido, and as it’s a perfect excuse to let go of his reputation for a while, a partner can expect him to want to fuck as soon as he’s home from work most days. He also gets off on the idea of risking his perfect persona, and may attempt to subtly get his partner worked up at any party they may attend with him.

Danceswap Grillby- A large part of Silk’s personality is seen in his art. He rarely expresses emotion via facial expression, and is generally monotone in speech. In other words, he’s a many of action. And he can be rather creative with the silks he uses for his performances. They’re a perfect material to gently tie up and suspend a lover. Guiding them through the steps to properly wrap themself in the silk for such occasions drives him wild with suspense—knowing they’ll look so beautiful surrounded by his artwork. And then, ahem, covered in his art. The contrast of the colorful silks and his glowing magic are a lovely contrast, in his opinion.
