At first it seemed kind of arbitrary, but the logic is that she doesn't want to have too exciting anything while she risks succumbing to trigon's influence and ending the world, so she tries to keep all areas of her life generally under control and unexciting. she can try spicy foods after terror of trigon tho, when she's temporarily free from his influence, don't worry ;P
