i saw someone on twitter do listen and we don’t judge chicago fire edition and since i had so many i thought i’d make a list
1. severide should’ve been captain seasons ago and if derek was still showrunner he would’ve eventually made that happen. but since it’s andrea, she insists on ofi storylines even though canonically kelly prefers squad 3 over arson and she only writes ofi storylines bc she enjoys them herself for herself. but she doesn’t seek to take into consideration that most fans are tired of seeing kelly do ofi all the time
2. andrea is a good writer but a terrible showrunner. she doesn’t seem to think through all the storylines she plans out. damon and kelly? recycled and still didn’t live up to the potential it could’ve. carver and tory? extremely useless because carver didn’t learn anything. stellaride baby talk? still hasn’t been brought up past that first episode and it feels forgotten.
3. i just don’t see mouch as a lieutenant. and i think the only reason the writers chose to go this route for him is so he can replace stella when she gets pregnant
4. herrmann will inevitably pass the captains exam and become captain but it honestly feels rushed because we didn’t see him study one time. instead he got too many comedic storylines.
5. ritter should’ve gotten so much more screentime then he did. i’d rather see a healthy relationship like ritter and dwayne then carver and tory because their relationship was so pointless. the carver and tory storyline was extremely stupid and was really just a waste of time for carver and mikarver as a ship since we know they’ll end up getting back together
6. squad should have more solo rescue calls
7. writers aren’t executing storylines well this season and because of it, the episodes feel extremely filler
8. brett/stella/foster was the best female trio we got because it felt like all three were actually friends. sometimes stella feels left out of the trios because she’s the only firefighter whereas the other two are always medics. but stella and foster felt like they had a genuine friendship despite the fact that they were a firefighter and medic duo.
9. kelly NEEDS more interactions outside of stella and pascal. herrmann and cruz are literally right there yet the writers won’t let them have scenes together and it’s frustrating. i’d also love to see kelly with violet because my headcannon is that they’re siblings
