Mmkay. So if you’ve seen the latest Picard trailer(the one released to keep our attention despite Star Wars), then you may have seen this guy flash past.
What speculation I’ve seen is along the lines of him kinda looking like Locutus but not quite, wondering if he’s meant to be Picard, wondering if he’s a wholly new character, wondering just generally what the hell's going on.
Well, as @CaptainCrusher pointed out, he looks a lot like Daniel Stewart.
You know, Patrick Stewart’s son.
So that’s interesting. There are a few possibilities I can think of here:
Daniel’s standing in for his dad, to be CGI’d more like him later, because the digital de-aging on X-Men did not look great and they’ve decided to come at it from the other side. My immediate objection to this is that the facial prosthetics do not match the ones we saw on Locutus before (but then, Seven’s implants don’t look the same as the ones she had on Voyager, either, so that could be consistent);
He’s playing a better-conceived version of Shinzon - the Borg grew a new Locutus in a vat, from the original’s DNA which they will obviously have had on file, and maybe the regret Picard expresses in voiceover is that he had to kill this one, his only quasi-living flesh and blood;
He’s just some guy, not actually Daniel Stewart at all, and a wholly new character who will be important in flashback but not related.
Anyway, it's interesting.

What color would you say hanschen, Ernst and voice of Ernst are???? Like if they were represented by a color in a picture which color would they each be?
ernsts on a scale of 1-10
Gideon Glick: 10/10. beetles haircut. fucking adorable, naive and awkward but not stupid. obc, which has gotta count for something. Loves hanschen and is not being manipulated into it. Twink icon. The audience needs to shut the fuck up and let him sing. Weird character voice in the cast recording, but I'm gonna look past it because he's still so fucking valid
Ben Moss: 7/10. A good boi, but so so utterly stupid. Just the dumbest Ernst to ever breathe. Smiles like :3. Lovely voice. Overacts at some moments and underacts in others, the way he delivers "Oh god" is weird to me. The kiss isn't awkward like some others. Overall a wholesome and good Ernst.
Ben Fankhauser: 4/10. Stupid awkward AND heterosexual. I'll give him some points for his lovely voice and the fact that I love him dearly as an actor. The whole vineyard scene made me uncomfortable because of how stupid and naive and manipulated he came off as.
Joshua Castille and Daniel Stewart: 9/10. Their Ernst was adorable and they worked very well to combine sign and spoken English, but the vineyard scene still made me a little uncomfortable because of how much of a pushover their Ernst is. They were mainly messed up by Andy's Hanschen imo.
Harry McEntire: 10/10. Seemed like an awkward kid, and looked the part too. Not passive or whiney, which I appreciate. His starting the second kiss and the Hanschen he was paired with made the vineyard scene feel mutual which I appreciate so so so much. He was seemingly comfortable in the role, and even though his accent annoys me he's so so good. The audience should really shut the fuck up because he was SO GOOD
anyways these are my hot takes and here's my hanschen post
I got stuck on little Daniel Stewart feels. He’s quiet and listens more than he talks, and he also understands a lot more than people give him credit for. He was four when his father was killed, but he doesn’t really have many memories of Alan since he was mostly gone all the time, and Maggie raised him in Strawberry until they ultimately left when he was six. After the two of them settled in Blackwater, he went to school with other kids his age for the first time. He’s slightly ahead of some children since Maggie encouraged his interest in the books she always read and the postman in Strawberry sometimes let him help sort mail while his mama went into the post office.
Maggie tries her best to keep any financial woes to herself, but Daniel wants to help out so she doesn’t have to work so late at night until her hands cramp up from all the sewing she takes upstairs to their tiny apartment above the tailor’s shop. When Charles comes back in the picture, he finds Daniel heading out carrying a too-big rifle (Daniel is also a bit scrawnier than most 8 year olds) and when he asked where he was going, Daniel replied that he was going to go hunting to sell the meat to the butcher so he could buy his mama a pretty necklace he saw her looking at the other day. Charles talks him into trading the rifle for a fishing pole and they wind up spending the day together. They don’t catch enough fish to sell like Daniel wants, but they catch enough to make a nice dinner and Charles negotiates pooling their money together to buy Maggie something nice. It’s basically all Charles, but he makes a big deal about the quarter Daniel chipped in because he saw just how proud the boy was with his contribution.
There’s a second fishing trip later on with John and Jack and it looks like something’s bothering Daniel. When pressed, he just flat out asks Charles when he’s gonna marry his mom and if he was going to ask for his blessing first.
“Well, to be honest, I was working my way up to it. Are you okay with me courting your mother?”
“You make her smile and laugh, and I like you too, so I reckon you’ve got good intentions.”
“I’m glad you feel that way, Mr. Stewart.”
“I’m glad we had this talk, Mr. Smith. Man to man.”
Meanwhile, John is just dying a few feet over but not saying a word after he got the silent “do not ruin this moment or I’ll hurt you later” stink eye Charles sent over Daniel’s head at him.
