Matt made a show of looking around. “What is this?”
Jessica snorted. “You’ll have to be more specific, Muurdock.”
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think you’re flirting with me.” He said carefully.
Jessica, leaning against the desk, let out a chuckle. “I wouldn’t dare.”
Matt frowned. “I feel like you are.”
“Is that what your super powers are telling you, Murdock?” She teased.
Oh, so she really wanted to play. Matt made a show of touching his temple and inhaling deeply. “Pretty much.”
He knew she was grinning and he loved that. He could tell she was grinning because of the muscles moving around her face - and yes, he could hear that - but he wished he could see it. He wished he could see that she was having fun with him, that she could smile when he was near, even if it was because they were teasing each other.
“Guess you must be right, then.” She drawled.
He pulled at his tie. “I guess so. So what does that mean?”
“Maybe you should come closer and I can tell you.”
“Absolutely not.”
He managed to shock Jessica. This was great.
“What?”
“I’m a devout catholic man.” He informed her, quite primly. “I will not fall prey to your wicked ways, Jessica.”
She narrowed her eyes. “Are you shitting me right now?”
“No. You need to buy me dinner before I get any closer.”
“Come on!” She groaned. “Are you serious about this dating thing.”
“Deadly.”
we are about to enter a darejones renaissance the likes of which we would have been bamboozled by in 2014 and no one is ready like me
“Are you always rude to people trying to help you？”
When I say it’s about chemistry, it’s how the potential couple interact/react with each other based on the (logical) plots or stories that were created for them. And when I say ‘logical’, it should be that there is mutual respect and understanding between the two pairings. Also, them looking great together are key ingredients in telling a fascinating love story that works. If there is one ingredient missing in a pairing, you’ll have the fandom in chaos.
And an even bigger chaos when the creators dismiss the popular ship as a knee jerk reaction to a pairing they forced to be canon. No never mind they wanted their pairing to be canon in the the first place, even if it doesn’t work.
