Daring Duo - Dawn

After finally killing Hill, saving Clover and her friends, and blowing up the house with C4 and gasoline, Sam and Mike drove back to the motel where they were staying. They took a shower together and went to bed.

Mike: (Sigh) Another night at the office.

Sam: I'd say it was more than another night. We stopped Hill from breaking the seal that prevents the entity from entering our universe, and prevented the Wendigo curse from getting an encore.

Mike: In the process. We learned what it's like to die. Not a fan.

Sam: Now, so do all those people we just helped. Everyone we can save is forever left with scars. They're stuck with the knowledge that the things that hide under their bed do exist and can get them. They'll never feel safe.

Mike: They can feel at least slightly safer knowing that people like us are taking care of them, along with regular, mundane human monsters.

Sam: Not sure that says much. Now that time is moving normally, do you know what this means?

Mike: We don't get a do-over like we're in some game or something.

Sam: Yeah. All deaths are final again. I don't think I'd be able to handle watching you die again, knowing it's permanent.

Mike: Honestly, me neither. So let's promise each other this: We do everything in our power to keep ourselves and each other alive. If one of us goes down swinging, the other must keep going until the other goes down swinging too. Right?

Sam: (Nods somberly)

Mike: Good. Anyways, a win's a win. So, do you wanna just sleep it off, or is bone-zone time still an option?

Sam: Bone-zone time. We earned it, and you're so great at it, I'm practically addicted to it and you. But could we please not put our recorded...intimate handy work...in another VHS? I still don't get why we did that when our recording phones were right here with us.

Mike: I was going for a nostalgia theme.

Sam: Nostalgia theme?

Mike: Yeah. A theme where we appreciate the classics by using classical items.

Sam: You finally got it out of your system?

Mike: Yeah. It was gonna just be a one-time thing anyway. Tonight, the cameras don't need to be on at all. You down?

Sam: Sounds good to me.

Sam and Mike started with a little making out and saw where it went from there.
