Leo definitely didn't wanted to do this, he was sitting in front of divine stew of who knows what god, Jason the guy he loved considered his best friend looking at him with a piercing gaze waiting quietly with that wolf-like gaze he learned to love knew so well, he had to do this who knows what he would do if Leo didn't ate the stew "it's just one bite, you can do this" the son of hephaestus whispered to himself silently his trembling hand held the the gilded spoonful of meat as he approached it to his equally trembling lips, and finally, he put the spoon on his mouth...
(Continue if you want to)
All he had to do now was open his mouth, just open his mouth and take a bite...Just open his mouth and...he could see bits of whatever—whoever it was floating in the broth. His stomach twisted as he attempted to push down the urge to vomit. His hands wouldn't stop shaking and it was a miracle he hadn't spilled anything. Jason's face began to fall and he squirmed on the couch causing the springs to groan and creak with his weight. The blonde shifted a bit closer to him, Leo was so ashamed of the sharp ping of fear that went through him.
He brought a hand up to take the one Leo was using to hold the spoon. He couldn't help but notice how cold Jason's hands were. It was better than when Nico had first brought him back though, Jason had been shivering constantly and his hands had been ice. The blonde bent down a bit, bringing his face close to the other boy's hand.
For a moment he thought Jason was about to sink those glinting canines into his hand. Tear through the flesh and bone of his fingers the same way he'd torn through Artemis's throat. Instead Jason carefully blew on the steaming meat and broth. Leo released a breath he didn't release he'd been holding. Oh gods, what the—of course not. Of course he didn't do that, they were...
Leo noticed Jason's throat bob, he'd stopped blowing on the food and was now just...staring at it. Eyes lidded, pupils small, like he'd looked Apollo before he'd started eating. Leo shuddered, maybe..."You hungry big guy?"
Jason snapped out of his daze, "Huh?"
"You—uh—you looked like you were about to bite my hand off for a second there", He let out a nervous chuckle.
The teen's face went red with embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I would never! I just—I haven't eaten in a while and getting Mercury took a lot out of me—!"
"Hey it's fine!" Mercury, the Roman messenger was in this bowl—in that pot on the stovetop. The name alone didn't make him feel better about eating it. "I get it man I know you'd never..."
Rip my throat out with your teeth and start munching?
"...I know you wouldn't hurt me", those words seemed to ease a weight off the other boy's shoulders. Leo held the spoon to Jason's mouth, the blonde went red "Go on".
"Eat Jason, it's fine. Plus—" he swallowed "—I think I'd feel better if you ate first? Eat the gold berries y'know".
Jason chuckled, eyes focused on the spoon. "Eat the red berries".
"Potato potato, tomato tomato".
The teen let out another laugh, licking his lips before wrapping them around the spoon. Jason's eyes slipped shut, an odd rumbling coming from his throat as he pulled back and began to chew. Leo scooped up another spoonful, holding it out once Jason swallowed. He resisted the need to squirm as the blonde took another bite.
Jason hummed, nodding as the shorter boy got another spoonful for him. They continued like this until the bowl was empty and Jason had pressed himself into Leo's chest looking like a sleepy little puppy. Leo sighed, hopefully he could think of a way to get out of eating his share by the time he woke up.
