D has been encouraging me to start rebuilding my social circle, and he's not wrong.
I was thinking about how I used to meet/see people on the regular, and what things I did that I really enjoyed, and oh, how I want Dark Threads back again!
Dark Threads was the Bay Area gothy craft/sewing email list when I first came out here (so late 90s early 00s), and on it, I'd found a small group that would meet up more-or-less regularly, and just make shit, watch cheesy movies, and hang out. For some reason, despite my lack of outlets and insufficient seating, I wound up hosting a lot.
I have more outlets now (and a staggering number of power strips), and plenty of chairs. Also two projectors and a honking hugnormous TV.
Would anyone have an interest in reviving something like this with me? I don't have to host, but I am perfectly willing to. I'm a very short walk from MacArthur BART these days.
(Also under consideration: Game Night! Could be combined, even! Or even just "come over and watch these two or three movies that I think should go together for some dumbass reason and we'll order from Homeroom")
