Sneakers by Dave White - A 20-Year Celebration
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sneaker Art series, the show will feature two new highly sought-after limited edition prints and three original paintings from the archive of this celebrated artist.
It was back in 2003 that White initiated the Sneaker Art movement, with his series of Pop Art inspired oil paintings of the most desirable trainers from his personal collection.
A small series of highly sought-after editions were released at this time (and long since sold out). White's latest show at Enter Gallery is a rare opportunity to revisit this coveted collection and to own a piece of history that celebrates 20 years since the launch of his Sneaker series.
These portraits of beloved footwear, characterised by the same energetic drips of pigment that have gone on to define his oeuvre, led to long-term collaborations with Nike and Brand Jordan.
White is one of only a handful of artists to boast his own signature Jordan releases alongside other artists, such as Kaws. His Jordans have gone on to be in the Top Five highest-selling sneakers of all time.
Since 2003, White's art has featured in a number of sneaker art exhibitions around the world. His Rabbit and Fox works from his enormously-popular Albion series were immortalised on the AM95 DW for an international project with Size? x Nike.
Dave White will be joining the Private View at Enter Gallery in Brighton on Friday 3rd February, and there will be a Q&A about these exciting artworks.
Come along, meet the artist over a glass of bubbles, and secure these highly-collectible artworks for your collection.
