I mean, I have these two on the mind now, so have some Davrich propaganda.
I keep bringing up how Davrin is Emmrich's type, and I will continue to do so, especially after playing through Emmrich's romance as a Grey Warden Rook. It's right there! A younger, heroic adventurer who's been to the Anderfels and other parts of Thedas, who has already seen so much in their life, who's set on saving the world.
Plus, there are some superficial similarities with Strife as well. The handsome, outdoorsy, courageous Dalish man whose interests lie in a different field, because y'all be sleeping on the fact that Davrin is an expert and an academic in his own way as a monster hunter. The type of man whose differences would have Emmrich questioning about any potential future compatibility, but it's a matter of learning to find common ground and appreciate those differences together.
Emmrich's past relationship with that Orlesian art appraiser and how he brings up something along the lines of how artistry should be appreciated in all its forms when talking to Davrin about his carvings, and that's not even getting into the fact that this man sings to animals, too. It's right there! Definitely not his type, though.
Speaking of, the potential freak4freak of these two as a Grey Warden/Mourn Watcher pairing. People be falling for what imma call the "Wyll Ravengard effect" of Davrin in that y'all let his charm and confidence blind you to the fact that he can be a bit unique in his own ways at times. He's knowledgeable about death and anatomy, just from different sources than what Emmrich is accustomed to. He literally smells and identifies the scent of embalming fluid on Emmrich in a banter because of his taxidermy experience with the Wardens.
Also, uh, hello? They're both sweet as hell, very devoted partners. Both romances are top tier. They could go on dates and outings both in the cities and out in the wilderness. They're willing to travel and adapt. I do like the idea of Davrin getting to experience that softer side of romance that Emmrich offers as well. He deserves it after everything he's been through, and his romance is open to any future from domesticity to adventuring or to just playing it by ear, taking it day by day.
And Davrin, bruh, let's talk about that hand-to-bone combat comment and how you could give Emmrich some tips because you didn't even have to say all that, but he did and I love him for it.
On that note, sex is simply a part of life sometimes, and these two both have confidence and experience with what they want. They also both banged Rook to sleep. As me and my enablers friends like to bring up regarding these two, Old Man versus Gray Warden Stamina. Enough said!
Of course gotta bring up their "kids" too because they have their difference in approaches and act like rival parents at first, yes haha, but not enough people acknowledge that by the end of that set of banters between them, they actually learn from each other and use each other's advice, which need I say anymore about that? Seriously?
Plus the fact that they are so different from each other at times is part of what makes them so compelling in my opinion.
