Yall how we feeling about this?

I'm starting to think I'm just a hater lowkey (I am) and before I rant about this let me just say I hate that fuck ass haircut and I don't really like the suit.

Now, huntress. I love her but why did writers choose to only make her relevant again to be a love interest. Furthermore, Why do writers keep using Dick's exes as Jason's love interests? The pattern is WEIRD considering they're brothers.

I had a argument on TikTok about this someone tried to make the point that "oh dick doesn't own them and she can be with whoever she wants" and thats not the point I'm making at all?? It's a generally weird pattern to be with your brother's exes on the WRITERS behalf's, I'm sure with good writing they can be a good relationship at the same time, I've lost faith in good writing from Dc new comics.

In my personal opinion, I think they need to stop treating Jason as this weird ass rebound and branch off from the ex train. It weirds me out so bad like he deserves his own life. I also think we should stop bringing back women characters with the SOLE purpose of being a love interest I'm sooo sick of it, they could just be an amazing duo.

I also don't really see Jason in romantic relationships (Take this with ALL the salt, zero logic in this, only bias because I selfship and I hate to see other baddies winning).

I fear they keep degrading Jason's writing, focus on the wrong shit and love to keep him second to Dick and I hate that for him.

I wanna know yall opinions too though because everytime something new comes out I swear it's a miss but then I see so much hype for it.

Let me just start off with this: the new Superman movie really made me believe in hope again. In kindness and the bright, boy-scout from the comics!

But I’d thought I’d hop on here and just share some thoughts I had about the opinions floating around and the fanbase as it reaches the box office. I’ve noticed a lot of people are trying to politicize this movie, and it boggles my mind. From both the left and the right, this is the general rundown:

Right: Superman is anti-American and he is pro-immigrant (alien from Krypton)

Left: Superman is an allegory to the conflicts in the Middle East, and he’s showcasing the hardships illegal aliens are facing at the hands of ICE right now (Essentially just an allegory for real-world conflicts the left are fighting against)

Besides the fact that I think BOTH are wrong, it also makes me disappointed that we can’t all enjoy something without bringing politics into it. Superman is literally about kindness and friendship, and we are divided over a man that stresses unity for all? It’s also a comic book character guys- he’s not supposed to be some contrived metaphor for whatever arguments people are having at the moment. He’s a cartoonish representation carrying a good, universal message for society: Truth, Justice, and the American Way

Kind of transitioning into that, the right was upset that they didn’t add that little tidbit in, and although it is Superman’s catchphrase, I feel like his actions spoke way louder than his words in that movie, so I honestly didn’t care about one absent one-liner. I think what people get wrong about that is the last part: “American Way”. Admittedly, these are only my thoughts, but I think it’s just supposed to represent the best of America’s values: Freedom, and equality. Unfortunately, that isn’t always present in America, but it was undoubtedly the spirit and framework for the country- and still is today, upheld and fought for by a lot of people. Superman is no different- he stands for equal rights, fairness, justice, freedom, and truth-

Something Gunn did incredibly well, and something we should all believe in and try to fight for.

I’ve been trying to read more more ongoing dc titles and I recently got up to date with all the titles I’ve been wanting reading. So in an effort to A) make the choice a lil easier and B) to support more women comic creators, I decided I was going to read or prioritize reading women written comics.

So I mannually went through each titles to figure out which ones were written by women and holy shit…

10 fucking on going titles that have come out this month.

There is around 52 titles that came out this month and 10 were written by women. That’s around 19% of Dc comics that have come out this month that are written by women.

furthermore, around only 3 women drew interior panels for comics released this month. And only around 4 covers being drawn by women.

(Lil shout out to Hayden Sherman who is currently drawing two titles rn and is a non-binary artist)

This is genuinely so unacceptable it is crazy. Yes I know that men take up the larger portion of the comic book space but there is definitely more than 10 fucking good women authors that would love to for DC. More than 4 artist who would love to draw comics for them.

DC at this point probs has more sexist men working on comics than women at all and like that shouldn’t be the case??? Excuse me??

DC you need to get ur act together and start hiring more women. We need more women lead- women written- women drawn stories. Women deserve accurate representation in comics as much as anyone else and deserves to work on them as well.

So DC is trying to tell us that Damian Wayne, the kid that gave up an empire, turned his back on everything he knew, have immense growth as a person, loves his grandfather(alfred), his father, and brothers, that that kid is going to quit being Robin and in turn become a villain?!?!

Im over here trying to read some 1999 birds of prey run around 63-65 so far because I was trying to read up on some Jade Nguyen and bro.

WHY IS IT ALL GOONER SHOTS?? I've never seen so much ass panels and boobs in my life, everyone is ultra baddie.

Now I'm a gooner lowkey so I like it but I then I'm brought back to reality and recognize this is men bait/gaze and the classic scene of over-sexualizing women especially fighters.

Like why am I seeing Jade is a nightgown lingerie that shows damn near everything (I'm drooling but like guys this isn't the time)

this is your daily reminder that characters within the found family trope aren't actually related nor are they supposed to fit in a stiff nuclear family dynamic where there's a mom and a dad and everyone else is siblings. Just the opposite actually!! These are supposed to be unique family LIKE dynamics that don't fit into your typical family roles.

This line of thinking doubly goes for comic families such as batfam, superfam, wonderfam etc. Admittedly I'm singling out batfam and have them specifically in mind with this post because I swear to god if I see another post about TimSteph or DickBabs basically being incest I am going to scream.

Please read actually read the content you are trying to analyze, that is all.

Manchild DC comic fans are one of my least favorite fans in the comic world. I can deal with the teenager who thinks everyone's gay. I can deal with the people who have only seen Young Justice or Teen Titans. But, I can deal with the young adult male who whines about things like "oh no that character is gay! Ew!" Or "I'm not racist, I just don't like the new Wally because he's not ginger and white!" They have no sense of diversity and inclusive. They can't deal with woman not being really skinny and big breasted. They can't deal with scenes that don't have huge explosions or killing or blood. And the worst part is DC will listen to them more than they will listen to the other fans that can cherish their characters and their stories probably more than the company does themselves. Idk

I love Barbara a lot, but I never liked how she returned as Batgirl in new 52. I felt that Babs as oracle was empowering to many disabled people out there. Babs didn't keep herself down when she was in her chair, she was still supper strong on her torso and up. She is literally seen knocking out so guys in her chair like how cool is that! Plus oracle was not only important to Bird of Prey and many Gotham bases teams, but to the Teen Titans and even the Justice League! She was one of the smartest characters in the DCU. In the new 52, her character seems to be just "hot chick who can fight crime!" plus her covers are creepy as heck sometimes. :/
