BATOBER Day 18 - Split
King Shark is getting the spotlight in media. Time for Orca to get some love.
Orca, is it true that you were so horny that completely drained Spider-Man's huge balls?
Orca:”Eeeh was more fair to say, what actually happened was I came close but not quite. Shouldn’t be surorising, hers the dude blows out Carl Danvers and she-hulk’s backs on a regular basis, don’t let the gymnast frame fool ya, guy is a beast…..”

Mario Characters as Batman Villains 40 - Guppy + Orca
When I brainstorm ideas for potential combinations, this is one of the ones that came to me after I see what Orca looks like. The smile of Orca brings to mind the Mario rival character Guppy from Super Mario Galaxy, which given what Guppy is supposed to be (an orca whale), this combination comes to me as an Eureka moment.
One of the most difficult things with this combination is how to depict a character who is not anthropomorphic into one, because I wanted to make an anthro Guppy look just right for the character. That's not the only challenge, because the other one is to choose the best pose to represent the character, who is meant to be relatively harmless. Here are some of what I have considered:
In the end, I decided on the one where Guppy jumps out of water and showing off, which is to me the best fit for the character that I can think.
Given how comedic this combination is, I personally think this is a very good idea and I think it comes off quite well. Hopefully this also comes off as brilliant!
Thank you for reading.
Teams that are friends and trust each other with their lives are great but frankly teams that Don't Like the people there On Any Level are underrated man
Super quick sketch. Wanted to draw something “Rule of Rose” related for “whale” day of inktober... Turns out there was a fish not whale :D
REGARDLESS! Here’s Orca and Barbs. I low-key ship them since LEGO Batman movie. And I love dark-skinned Barbs from there.
Listen, I think the Killer Croc / Orca relationship was cute, but that’s kinda all it was. I mean- it was good Croc rep (which he’s always short of) but it didn’t feel like right way to do a relationship with Waylon (if that makes sense). I mean- compare it to his relationship with June. The whole foundation of their romance was that June was one of the only people to treat Waylon as human, and when June felt that SHE was a monster, a freak, because of Enchantress, Waylon was there for her, he understood because he had been dehumanized all his life.
And it’s not the same with Orca. I know the thought process was “they’re both aquatic mutants!!! Perfect!!” but the key difference is that Orca made HERSELF into this. It was her choice, she wanted this. Waylon never got to choose, he never wanted any of this. He would have never choose his life. There’s a prime disconnect because their characters just aren’t related.
If you want a Croc ship with another monster character, go with King Shark. Nanaue was born as he is, but he loves it. He’s fully embraced that he’s a gigantic shark and could spread that mindset to Waylon (because he really needs it).
