Looking at your twisted robins au, I'm so interested in what the bats are up to. Like, obviously Babs is being Oracle here(the only true way to do Babs), but are they also reversed? Have any of their roles changed due to none of the Robins really being involved with the family? Who all know each others identities? What do the Birds and Bats all individually think of each other? foaming at the mouth i need to know (no pressure by the way lol, I just really like your au)
I started doing a characters relationship chart, but then I realized the post would be faaaar too long and I gave up X.x
So instead, here are the main relationships and some answers for your questions.
Bruce Wayne/Batman, Kate Kane/Batwoman, Barbara Gordon/Oracle, Cassandra Cain/Batgirl, Duke Thomas/Signal. (Honorary member: Helena Bertinelli/Huntress)
2. Are the Bats reversed?
Nope. The Birds are the ones reversed, both in age and in morals, kind of a mirror of what they should be. The Bats are their usual age and motives.
3. Have their roles changed due to none of the Robins being involved with the family?
Not really. The only one whose role changed was Jason before his death. Instead of "Robin", which does not exist in this universe, he was Batboy. Cass also remained Batgirl here.
4. Do they know each others' identities?
The Birds do know about the Bats identity (thanks to the über stalker Tim Drake/Savior), except Oracle who remains hidden to this day.
The Bats have known about Damian and Steph's identity since the beginning. It took a couple months to recognise Jason. Dick's identity was discovered by Bruce (and Tim) some time into the Court of Owls arc.
Tim/Savior's identity is the one that has remained unknown to the Bats for the longest time, especially since he's been playing double agents, his public persona being rather close to Bruce Wayne. The Bats knew "Tim Drake" was under the Birds' protection, but there was no way (yet) to link Tim to Savior.
(Tim is really salty that his identity got discovered before he could figure out who Oracle is)
5. Birds and Bats relationships (fast edition)
Damian & Bruce: An absolute mess. They can agree on virtually nothing. Bruce wasn't aware he had a son until Damian was 26 and came to Gotham to seek his father. Damian isn't even sure what he really wants from his father. The only thing he knows is that he doesn't want Bruce dead and forbids his team from killing him.
Damian & Cass: Siblings. They were rather wary of each other at first, but since they have a lot in common, they usually get along well. The only rift between them is their differences in moral about killing. They can actually work well together.
Steph & Cass: Are they enemies? Are they rivals? Are they flirting? Nobody really knows, but they sure are a mess. Steph loves to purposefully mess with Batgirl. Cass tries to stay stoic but she's actually a mess for that charming mobgirl.
Steph & Duke: If there are two people who love messing with each other whenever they can, it's Steph and Duke. Whether in their public or the secret persona, they are stuck in a prank war that can go very, very far. They have a secret (not secret for Tim or Babs) line where they send each other's memes.
Kate is kind of a special case. She is a lot less emotionally invested with the Birds, especially compared to Bruce, so she is able to see a lot more clearly things about the Birds that the others miss. And she also tends to serve brutal honesty that the Birds can't quite stand.
Jason & Kate: A very strange relationship. Jason doesn't dislike her like Damian and Tim do, but she does tend to ask questions that make Jason think a lot. And sometimes even has him see through the hazy fog that plagues his mind. Despite her behavior, Kate does have a bit of a soft spot for Jason.
Jason & Bruce: Jason is Bruce's first son and sidekick. And despite Jason's quasi total memory loss, he does remember Bruce very clearly. Which fuels his rage even more about the Joker having been killed not by Bruce, but by Tim (which he did forget everything about despite them being childhood friends). Bruce's presence is one of the things that triggers Jason's rage despite the tranquillisers-filled rebreather.
Bruce, on the other hand, never managed to resent Jason for going crazy and becoming a killer, but he does blame Damian for inflicting that upon his son. He's actively working on trying to bring Jason back to him, and have him stop killing. He's currently searching for a way to calm Jason's Pit rage.
Tim & Babs: Snarky rivals who are always trying to out-hack each other and figure out each other's secret identities. They are calling each other to mock and bait each other regularly.
Tim & Bruce: Tim is Bruce's neighbor. For a while, Tim spent more time with the Wayne than at his own place, to the point he was more or less considered part of the family. Tim answered right back by having the biggest dad crush on Bruce ever.
He became completely disillusioned by Batman, and so Bruce too, after Jason's death, to the point he became Savior and actively worked on not only doing better than Batman, but also undoing Batman himself, officially making him one of Batman's numerous enemies.
In public though, he kept acting friendly with Bruce, keeping up apparences to avoid attracting unwanted attention and to gather more information. Still he used both their grief to explain their growing appart slightly.
After the death of Tim's parents, Bruce started suggesting to adopt him, which Tim always refused vehemently. He became more pressing about it once he learned that Tim was involved with the Birds, even without knowing he was Savior, not wanting his arguably one other son to finish like Jason.
Once Bruce learned that Savior and Tim were one and the same, even their public relationship became strained. While they still act perfectly fine for the cameras, they soon were stuck in a cycle of pushing and pulling, trying to get as much information from each other as possible, and venting both their frustrations at each other.
Dick & Duke: Despite their respective families being extremely antagonistic towards each other, Duke and Dick are fast friends and spend a lot of their free times chilling and playing together.
Duke is a big help for Dick to get his humanity back after he left the Court. Dick has a hard time with light, so he can't really look at him much without his goggles. Duke loves to engage with Dick since they are mostly the same age (considering the Birds are comprised at 90% of women older than him). Also, teaching Dick Gen Z slang and memes is the funniest shit, especially when Duke gets to be present when Dick uses that with his gang.
Dick & Cass: If Cass had any less self-control, she would've stolen Dick from the Birds ages ago. She can relate with his experience and doesn't like when Dick keeps considering himself as a weapon, or when Damian continues to use him as one.
And I'm gonna stop here for now XwX It took me too long to do.
