Dragon/Fantasy DCA AU!

AU ramblings + Closeups & Character info below

The AUs general premise is that Y/N goes into the mountains during summer break in Generic College. And then immediately gets bitten my some mysterious creature and gets lost. While lost they run into two dragons, and now they get to deal with said dragons!

The world itself is sorta more modern, with magic itself still existing but in various corners of the world due to humanity just sucking and hunting it down.

Sun and Moon

Sun and Moon are siblings in this AU, both not pure eastern dragons but the eastern dragon genetics are heavy, especially in Sun. Both used to be worshipped as deities by early age humans, but later on went into hiding when humanity turned on magic as a whole

Notes on Sun

Much more friendly and forgiving towards humans than Moon

The “younger” sibling (they’re twins) of the two

Doesn’t remember much about when humanity turned on them, and most scars are covered up by fur

Can’t breathe fire, but is capable of flight and shapeshifting

Notes on Moon

Very distrusting of humans as a whole, and most people. Really unfriendly. It remembers what happened…

The “older” sibling of the two, and more or less in charge

Protected Sun when humanity turned on them, which resulted in their wings getting torn off.

Moon can’t fly for obvious reasons, but can slightly hover about the ground, somewhat breathe fire, and can shapeshift

Y/N

Y/N has two main since when I was working on the first one (left) I accidentally realized how Moon centric it was, so I made a more sunny one!

Notes on Y/N

Horns and tail are a result of getting cursed. Think something werewolfish. No they do not remember what bit them. They wear a mask to hide canine teeth growing in

They ARE physically disabled, but I’m leaving it a bit open ended, with the main thing being their legs are really weak.

Big fan of fantasy as a child, and used to play in the woods before their condition got worse

Thrifts/makes their own clothes to have a personal touch to them, especially since going outdoors and on hikes aren’t as easy for them as they once were. Trust me, they still do, but not as often

Y/N's uniform for Daycare Planet!!!

This was just something i put together quickly...

so this is just an idea of what I was imagining Yn's uniform to look like in that chapter 2 WIP... (what i really wanted was for the outfit to have similar patterns to puppycat-ified/aka the smol vers of sun and moon)

Stuff like the hair can be changed ofc, even colors if you want to! this is a YN after all.

also there’s supposed to be an optional water pattern on the right one but idk how well it shows up. even then I wasn’t sure how I really felt about adding that pattern either…idk I’m indecisive :/

oh and i just added a helmet too for fun

THE MAIN INSPO OR WHAT THE OUTFIT IS BASED OFF OF IS BEE'S UNIFORM SHE WEARS IN ONE OF THE FIRST EPS (bee's first temp job is to daycare planet and this is the uniform she wears)

Got some YN beast form doodles for my dca strawberry au!!!

this was just my rough concept for yns beast form for my strawberry shortcake au! (i have a mini lore post on this btw) BUT! if you want to, you're more than welcome to have your own interpretation of yns beast form! :)

you don't gotta stick to my "canon" design for this au...and tbh i still feel this design i could maybe keep working on or make changes to in the future...like im not sure how i feel about the tiny lil horns?

the two doodles ya see here are (the one on the left/first one) is how yn really looks and the (one on the right/second) is how yn may look "scary" from the view of a unsuspecting person wandering the woods at night and bumping into them.

yn would 100% still keep their jacket, i can see it just being draped around their back/shoulders. or even yn at times trying to hold it up and cover/hide their face...

also id like to think yns got a sorta weird mouth situation where when its closed you dont see it but when they open it...well it can look intimidating. (i keep using legend of hei as reference pfpfpf)

i ramble more about beast yn below the cut...mostly just some random thoughts of mine on ways yn can accidentally be seen as more scary than they actually are.

when imagining how yn can accidentally be considered more scary than how they actually are, i feel a lot of it would be that classic misinterpretation due to fear and panic type stuff. in the dark all you see is a massive silhouette with glowing eyes. i also like to think that other details such as yns ears and fur can be mistaken for...lets say, multiple large horns and spikes in such a case...and of course you have those classic "1st hand accounts of the creature" where people say the monster had long deadly claws and razor sharp teeth etc etc... people making more stuff up cuz dumb fear and panic...(id like to think most people just bolt the minute they see yn in there beast form...a giant, possibly spikey creature with scary glowing eyes and who knows what eles NOPE! im outta here!)

also other things that can accidentally make yn seem more scary...(like the mouth thing of course)

1. is yn is very skittish and quite afraid of people when in their beast form. most of the time yn prefers staying in their home to wait things out till they are normal in the morning...yet if they are unlucky and happen to be outside they will try to hide behind anything they can, often this involves yn awkwardly trying hide behind trees or bushes despite there large size...people can mistake this for "oh no this monster is lurking about, it must be hunting for prey..." or something along the lines of that (ok but im imagining the fluffy cat beast yn trying to hide and you still see their fluffy body and tail as they poorly try to hide behind a tree thats trunk is too thin so you still see yns legs pffpfpfp XD)

2. yn can stand on two legs still, they don't often do this though and instead choose to walk on all fours when in their beast form because STANDING CAN REALLY SCARE PEOPLE AND GET YN SEEN WAY EASIER! if they are on all fours perhaps they can be lucky enough to be passed off as a cinnamon bear from afar but if they are standing...yeah getting spotted is not only easier but also they look WAY MORE INTIMADATING when standing...and they absolutely don't want that...

3. yn can talk somewhat normally? like you can understand what they are saying but they would sound very different...(probs kinda deeper and more echoy? growly??? yes im a fine connoisseur of descriptive words can you tell lol) idk a lil bit sad but i kind of feel they would struggle/have a bit of difficulty trying to get themselves to talk smoothly???? like yn would end up talking more broken? or like simple sentences and words in there beast form... more so because of how nervous/scared yn is...i mean they've hardly ever talked in there beast form...the very few times they have, well of course it has scared people too...i feel mostly yn would be trying to collect themselves enough to speak but only be able to get out a few words...but even that has/can be seen as scary by some people "oh god the monster can speak and its speaking in broken cryptic words" when rly, no, the monster is just an anxious, sad, scared bean trying to do there best not to seem threatening (but even if yn stays quiet they are still seen as scary though)
