(Batman and Robin Adventures #21): The art team here did really great. Riddler is so expressive, despite his mask and stuff. His wide eyes when he fails to recognise batgirl, his squinting, his many physical mannerisms, I love it. Also, I find it so funny his "deadly poison" was nothing but insecticide. That's a hilarious detail, and i'm kind of glad they threw it in there.

(Batman Adventures #14): This issue is running pretty much consecutively with issue #13. And issue #13 is about Batman and Talia, so it's probably going to be more dramatic. This one is about Robin and The Ventriloquist, so it's probably going to be way sillier.
Also, I feel like I now feel indebted to make a post about all of this. Because Robin talking about being in College...and me having a bad day because I was panicking about going to college...feels like I have a post just waiting to be made here. So maybe i'll try to make that in a little bit. sigh...
(Justice League Adventures #10): This issue is another one all about J'onn, so it's now one of my favourites. I feel so bad for him. The cruel, uncomprehending people of earth are so scared of J'onn that they treat him like a monster. But Superman is also an alien, and they treat him like a savior. Because one looks more human, they don't feel as much fear. J'onn is shunned. He's the one leaguer who everyone seems scared of, and I hate it. I hate it so much. Just like The Hulk, Silver Surfer, and many others at Marvel, the Martian Manhunter is a DC character who always appeals to me. He's a lonely outcast, and those sorts of characters
(Batman: Gotham Adventures #2): Well, that explains some of the trauma. Harvey's father was a compulsive gambler and an abuser. He abused his family until he finally bounced from their lives when harvey was 13. But seeing as we're implying harvey's mom never lost love for her husband, I can see her becoming a negligent parent from that point onwards. So...yeah. This plus the suppressed anger from thinking he almost killed his bully, and it's no wonder harvey dent ended up so psychologically disturbed. I also kind of wonder why harvey's mom died. We're implying it happened, but we're missing a timeline. A timeline would be nice.
(Batman and Robin Adventures #3): This might be the first time this comic has utilized the riddler correctly. Because this feels perfect for the riddler. Especially frank gorshin's riddler (the one i'm most biased towards). I can read the laughter and mania, even if it isn't shown. You know, I like most riddler actors, but something about frank gorshin on batman '66 was just delightful. I think it's the way he could switch from dead faced seriousness to manic giggling at the drop of a hat. So the fact that the theatrics of this comic let me visualize him once again...that's honestly quite a delight.
(Adventures in the DC Universe #8): Great. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle are Laurel and Hardy. I don't know which is which, but i'd believe it if you told me there were parallels. Those old comedy sketches with Laurel and Hardy were great, and it's only due to my public library i understand this reference. So that's fun.
