tbh i think comic books are made to be read. crack that spine. fold it. cut out panels you like and glue them to whatever surface you want. color in manga. get cheeto dust and fingerprint oil on the pages. draw cat whiskers on superman, or put heart stickers on wolverine, i don't care.

doing any of this automatically makes you a bigger fan than someone who buys the same issue to only keep it in a plastic bag in some air-tight safe for eternity because at least you engage with the text.
