Thinking about my beloved Rorschach……….
they're a problematic character TO YOU. they're problematic to me as well but I'm being weird and horny about it so it's different
overwhelming mothers & absent fathers
getting kind of emotional about lauries stupid little skull choker on her outfit. its such a teenager detail to add. she was just a kid man.
It HURTS me to see the Zack Synder design for Daniel because Patrick Wilson looks SO MUCH like Daniel in his civilian clothing but then Synder had to FUCKING redesign his silliness away...
DC comic creators will dangle a small red-headed man with a weird identity thing going on just above my head and say “ok you can have him, but you have to promise to be normal about him” and every time i’ll be like “sir yes sir, mr.comics! i pinky promise i will like him a normal amount :)” and so they give him to me and i immediately grab him in my teeth and shake him around violently like a rabid dog
Absolute Martian Manhunter is genuinely one of my favorite comics I've ever read. This feels silly to say, but it feels like my Watchmen, in a way. They are obviously VERY different projects, and tonally almost opposites. But from the standpoint of: having loved comics my entire life feels like it really has led me, in part, to the culmination of getting to read AMM, which is just so thematically rich, and utilizing the art of of comics to its fullest extent, and it's so so satisfying of someone who loves and has spent a lot of time with the superhero genre and comics in general.
gripping watchmen fanartists by the shoulders. never forget that that man is Ugly

wanted to try doodling a more comic accurate Waltuh :>

i kinda surprise myself with how little i care about all of the Watchmen spinoffs despite how obsessed i am with the source material. i just really, really love Watchmen as an isolated story. i love that you get dropped into a brand new world with brand new characters for a very brief moment in time, and then it ends. the mystery on either side of the Watchmen timeline is part of the appeal for me. i don’t want to know what happens after the events of the comic, and i don’t need to know what happened before. the comic is interesting to me because it leaves you with so much to think and theorize about after its over. it’s a fascinating unanswered question, and i’m entirely unimpressed with DC’s attempts to answer it anyway
its crazy how much rorschach eating cold beans has been made into a meme by this fandom as if his nasty ass didn't also just eat a raw egg at molochs
HOW THE FUCK did the omnipotent lonely guy become Steve Jobs dying of ligma
