FAQ

DC Trans Week is a fandom event to celebrate creators and characters who identify as transgender.

What does “transgender” mean?

Transgender is an umbrella term for people whose gender identity, expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth.

When does this event run?

It will run from November 13th to November 19th 2025.

Do I need to sign up?

No sign-ups are required! To participate, simply create something that fits at least one of the prompts. We’ll be reblogging submissions tagged #dctransweek and #dctransweek2025 between November 13th and November 19th. There will also be an AO3 collection where you can post your work(s).

How are prompts picked?

Prompts are suggested by the participants. A few months before the event, we open submissions for prompt ideas. Once suggestions are collected, we hold a public poll. The prompts with the most votes are selected for the week.

Where can I find the prompts?

The prompts are posted on this blog.

Do I have to identify as transgender to participate?

No. While trans creators are encouraged to participate, this event is open to everyone. Anyone interested in exploring trans experiences or identities within the DC universe is welcome.

Do I have to create a work about a character who is transgender in canon?

No. Your work must include at least one transgender character, but they don’t need to be canonically trans in the source material.

What kinds of content and ships are allowed?

Any kind of fanwork (fanfic, fanart, fanvid, playlists, moodboard, etc.) that is centered around a trans character. Works can be any rating (G to E) and all ships are allowed. Crossovers with at least one DC character are also fine. Please remember to include appropriate tags and content warnings.
