DCU Barry Allen and Iris West

You know on some days I have opinions on who should play Dick Grayson in the new DCU and on other days I'm like "if they cast Timothee Chalamet I'd be nothing but happy" cause like

Looks: check

Hot: check

Right age (range cause acting): check

Great actor: check

Wholesome vibes: check

And like maybe it is just cause I've basically watched all of Timothee Chalamet's films that I would enjoy in the last three days and I'm running out of reasons to look at him but it'd be so good omg and he's such a good actor (like think Wonka vs Hal vs Laurie vs Paul it's such a range that I think fits Dick Grayson cause who is Dick Grayson if not both Laurie and Paul at different times of day idk)

Oh also yes Romani representation (like I said somedays I have opinions) but also Romani people can be white passing (as I've seen in many posts on here) and also I think for Dick his heritage is from his mother being French??? So

I get that Nate Mann is “too young” or “too short” (dawg is 6’0 but ok 😭) for Batman, but he’s genuinely the only good contender. Every single one I’ve seen just isn’t good enough.

Brandon Sklenar has NOTHING that’s Bruce Wayne about him, not a single thing.

Alan Ritchson also looks absolutely nothing like Bruce, doesn’t have the charisma, and just generally doesn’t fit.

Nate Mann has that old money look to him, he’s genuinely pretty. He has a raspy voice. But my favorite thing is that he’s Jewish as well. Bruce in some iterations is considered Jewish from his mom’s side, and Nate Mann is Jewish himself!

I watched Nate in Masters of the Air and he was soooo good in it, and while his character is virtually not very similar to Bruce (at all really) I think he could possibly portray similar things that can make him convincingly be Bruce.

Sure, DCU Bruce is gonna have his gaggle of children and is starting with Damian, and Nate’s only 29, but I don’t really care about that lmfao makeup can easily make someone appear older, and Nate doesn’t look like your average 29 year old, no shade.

And for height, I’m a firm believer in Diana being super tall, like Elizabeth Debicki (I love this casting), and people, again, complain that if Bruce is shorter than Diana and Clark, then it just looks “odd” or wtv, but that just makes it better to me because this human who appears smaller than them is their equal.

Also also I really love Damian, like to death, he’s my fav Robin, but I lowkey want Tim to be Robin instead. Especially if Kon is introduced soon, maybe in the next movie (fingers crossed) Tim and Kon can meet eventually.

There’s also the fact about Damian and Jon being the same age and Clark and Lois literally just got together so no Jon anytime soon, and I would really love to see Jon and Damian be kids together. That is if James Gunn even wants to add Jon and just keep Kon as Superboy.

Anyway, Nate Mann as Batman supremacy

The only fancast who can encapsulated Bruce’s prettiness, save us, Nate Mann, from the horrific shit storm that is Sklenar Batman 😔🙏🙏

Do you think it’s like, wrong or a misunderstanding of him that I feel Batman’s physical stature is an essential element of his character and therefore any fancast (or actual casting) that can’t feasibly come close is not right? Like Affleck is virtually the only one who checked that box completely for me (probably because putting him directly across from Superman demanded a more comic-accurate size comparison in casting) though Bale did a great job of approximating. Pattinson’s costume designers were gods of inflating his proportions in the suit but he still has such twunk energy he can’t quite manage that Massive Shadow of the Night Loom. Any other Bruce Wayne fancasts I see are always like. Short or narrow actors for some reason and without that breadth I just can’t see it
