I got bored and made a pin board about what I think the wayne family would wear to the met gala (+ Barbara & Steph, who are a part of the family privately, but maybe not publicly).
Met Gala 2026: The Exhibit Theme is "Costume Art" & the Dress Code is "Fashion is Art" | Sponsored (in-canon) by The Wayne Family.
Every outfit I've compiled together falls under the theme of "Art-Form" with each member of the family representing a different aspect and expression of Art. So they're all distinct, on-theme, and yet feel coherent as a group.
Bruce: Architecture
Dick: Sculpture
Jason: Theatre
Tim: Photography
Cass: Dance
Duke: Cinema
Steph: Music
Barbara: Literature
Damian: Painting
I go into further detail on point 2 below, but most of the jewelry on these posts are from the Wayne Family Jewels/Vault. One thing of note I find important before you look at the posts is that I avoided pearls on their jewelry. It's not because I believe the family finds it painful to wear, but rather they know the press will be weird about it and want to avoid that. (It'll probably backfire, though, tbh, but they tried.)
I have made a few edits since the last postings of every one, just to clarify certain details (and even change one of Bruce's outfit options). I just kept evolving my ideas the more I did this. It made sense in my head, when it was just a pin board nobody would see, but as I typed out my ideas and feelings, things changed ever so slightly.
Important Notes:
I am considering more Met Galas.
Here is my post about the Wayne Family Jewels/Vault.
Dick Grayson represents the Art-Form of Sculpture. Much like Architecture, this is also a term that has a sort of specific meaning in fashion (as far as I can tell). When looking up "sculptural fashion" I often come across outfits that would be the expectations of the Met Gala, with outfits leaning more avant-garde than other styles and can look almost any way.
So, with Dick "Circus Kid" Grayson and his already canon (or basically canon) liking for bright, audacious, colorful clothes, what do I do?
Classical sculptures. Walk with me.
[link to intro post]
First, I studied this in college. So, I have a preference for anything even tangentially related to ancient history. But secondly and mostly- with so many crazy options, choosing this angle really simplified what I was looking for with a cohesive theme. Also, I think Dick would immediately choose this so he could be sort of shirtless.
Before we get to explaining "Sort of Shirtless" let's put the obligatory hair/face image. I like slightly "floppy" longer hair, but not too long to interfere with his nightly activities. Brenton Thwaites is the actor, since I figured it'd be an easy choice since he played Dick in Titans.
Now, the outfit-
Left: Togatus Figure, dates back to 1-200 CE, now kept in The Cleveland Museum of Art, Ohio. Right: Jupiter of Smynra, dating back to c. 250 CE, now kept in the Louvre Museum, in France. The left image is a more realistic take on the toga-style worn during this era, while the right is more fanciful (slutty lol) due to the subject matter being a deity.
My plan for Dick is that he wears a toga-style outfit, referencing mostly the Right image with the open chest, but with more of the drapery found in the Left.
Now, oftentimes classical sculptures were painted. I don't think the Jupiter of Smynra was, but we're not just putting Dick in a "Jupiter of Smynra" costume, we're referencing Classical Sculpture, with JoS as simply an example. Also this is Dick Grayson, I'd like to add some color for his sake. I'm thinking blue-
So, I can't find a proper source for the Left image. It's either pinterest links to the full costume, or a webpage the references it as a costume from "China Cart." The Right image is Socrates from Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I like the gold detailing on the edges of both of these outfits, and both outfits are similar to how Dick's toga will be draped.
So, I keep mentioning Dick being shirtless "sort of" Well, this is what i mean-
The left image is from Pinterest - I can't find a source for it. The right image is from Gaurav Gupta Spring 2026 Haute Couture runway titled "Divine Androgyne." Put one of these the male torsos from the Left onto the body like this model is wearing in the Right. It might be heavy, but I'd like them to be made of marble.
The marble body-piece represents the modern non-painted form these statues are recignized best in, while the colorful toga-outfit references the painted-state these statues were originally in. I like this combination as it combines the past and present.
Now, accessories-
The shoes are Emilio Pucci Edera Leaf Flat Sandals, but I can't find the exact runway these were clearly worn during, or any more details.
The Left leaf armbands are Zara. The Right ones with the red background are from "Elfin Gauntlet" (as far as my research tells me). I think the Right look more "ancient" and almost armor-like in vague terms, and the Left matches the sandals.
The only one of these I could reliably source is the Right one, which is Versace Atelier Spring-Summer Haute Couture 2013, photographed on an Italian Elle webpage (images 7, 20, 41, 44, 48, 57 out of 64.) These look more modern, but still maintain the shapes we want.
I also thought about brooch to act as a clasp at the shoulder (even if it's mostly cosmetic). They are all in a laurel wreath style, continuing the reference to Classical antiquity. I have a few color options-
Top Left is an Antique Diamond Wreath Pendant/Brooch. Top Right is a Pink Rhinestone Wreath Crest Brooch Pin, signed by B David. Bottom Left is a Vintage Blue Vitrail Rhinestone Wreath Brooch. Bottom Right is a 1950s Laurel Victory Wreath Brooch, with Sabrina Givre Marquis Glass Rhinestones.
I like the Bottom Left's color the least, but it's the best laurel wreath shape. You can't go wrong with diamonds such as the Top Left, the pink from the Top Right is a nice pop of color. The brown/red + green ombré affect from Bottom Right is also super nice and unique. I don't mind the dangling part from the Top Left diamond piece, yet the small circle piece from the Bottom Right bothers me.
I was torn on if Dick would wear a Laurel Wreath crown, since I just found all those brooches to reference the Laurel. But here are some options that I found-
The Left gold is from Etsy, MyFairyJewelry, with a very long title. The Middle is from Amazon, from a brand KorViSHOW. I can't sourse the Right image beyond pinterest.
The gold leaves can match the sandals/armband pairing while the green looks more real (or they could be real!), so it's not really a surprise that my favorite option is the middle mix of both colors. I want to mention that i found a lot of diamond tiaras that are based off laurel wreathes, and while that'd match the diamond brooch, I didn't like them for this outfit.
-
I feel like the toga style is so simple and elegant that the drama has to come from the accessories. Also, Dick strikes me as someone who LOVES being extra when given the chance.
So, if you're looking at Dick's jewelry and wondering whether or not Martha Wayne would have worn them, I don't think so. The pieces the family wears are from the Family Vault, not just Martha's jewelry. Now, the laurel wreath brooches might be from there, but maybe not the arm bands. I'm also torn on whether or not the laurel wreath crowns would be from the Vault as well. I mean, not if he wears real leaves, but maybe the golden one? I'm fine not counting it as jewelry like the bracelets and brooch.
Bruce Wayne represents the Art-Form of Architecture. His outift should focus on structural form, homages to famous buildings, and a nice, perfectly tailored suit that simultaneously hides and accentuates his muscular body (and scars from nightly activities).
[link to intro post]
edit: Hairstyle. I realized that I don't have hairstyles for Bruce. I know I don't strictly need it, but it feels weird having hairstyles for some and not for others on the list. So, here is Ben Affleck and a comic panel.
Okay now for the outfits-
I found this image that compares a Viktor and Rolf 2003 Fall Ready-to-Wear (look 32/33) outfit to the Sydney Opera House. I don't think this was intended by the designers, but I like the comparison. I thought it's extravagant enough for the Met Gala, yet the rest of the outfit can be a regular suit-and-tie. This was also one of the few masculine yet gender-neutral outfits that vaguely resembles my goal of framing the shoulders with the arches like shoulder-pads.
Why Australia? idk maybe he went there on a particularly fun vacation so he wants to reference that memory. What'd be easier to reference would be Gotham and it's clear mix of Gothic-inspired & modern architecture. I found mostly dresses, so I took some screenshots of some fun necklines that would be paired with suit pants, like the image above.
Left: Guo Pei Couture Fall 2018 (Look 2/32) where instead of a London skyline, I'd image it'd be Gotham. Middle: Guo Pei Couture Fall 2018 (Look 19/32), where I love the large circle-window inspired detailing. Left: Rahul Mishra Spring 2025 (Look 11/38) which could be filled with fun Gotham skyline Easter Eggs.
I also found this suit from a Dulche and Gabana Fall 2014 Mens Runway (Look 12/76). While I don't like the key undershirt, or the red tie, I love the navy background is and gothic arch-inspired gold details.
So, for the pants. To be paired with the necklines, maybe in a different color.
This is also Guo Pei Couture 2018 (look 8/32). I like the Gothic style architecture, it's go well nicely with the middle look in particular. The flared leg is also nice, shape wise.
Edit: You might notice the Mugler shirt gone! Well, when I was showing this post to a sibling, I hated it so much compared to the other options I just took it off. It used to be my safe choice, but that's now the navy and gold outfit above.
For shoes-
These are the Medusa Western Boots, from Versace. I like the gold detail, it really pops, and the subtle detailing of the rest of the boot looks so nice.
I also found these gloves, which could be paired with a couple things already on this list. It's from the brand Tragic Beautiful, but I also found a few brands that use identical pictures and very similar details.
For jewelry, I found this Tiffany Co. Platinum Enamel Diamond Brooch. I think this brooch looks enough like a bow-tie, yet keeps the structured look the rest of the outfits are aiming form. Like I said in my introduction post, this would be from his Family Vault, maybe even his mother's Collection.
-
This look is playing with shape more than it's playing with most other things. I think Bruce would feel more comfortable with the more subtle options, but maybe he feels his public persona "Brucie Wayne" would play along with the more daring necklines and city skylines.
Jason Todd represents the Art-Form of Theater. This subject has a long history and detailed past, and Jason is already known in-fandom to be a bit of a Eng Lit nerd, so I figured he'd have fun with this topic.
I have two different ideas for this concept. Both revolve around Shakespeare and specifically Hamlet. So I guess in this world Jason is a huge Hamlet fan.
[link to intro post]
Before I get into the options, let's talk about hair. I assume everyone publicly just thinks jason dyes his hair, lol.
Option One: Dressing in Elizabethan attire as a general nod to Shakespeare, with skull accessories. I also looked into jewelry related to Shakespeare himself. Maybe also famous portrayals of Hamlet?
I couldn't find reputable sources for any of these images. Not a costume website, not an amazon page, not anything. I couldn't even find out who the actor was in the first image!
This is the Halloween Gray Skull Chain Shoulder Bag from Lolitain. I thought Jason could hold up the purse and recreate the iconic moment of talking to Yorick. I like how realistic this is one is but I don't like the crown that much.
Shakespeareblog dot com has an article about the jewellery Shakespeare wore (aside from the gold hoop in his portraits). I tried to find a few brooches that look like them. Despite my best efforts, I could not find a luckenbrooch that looks like the one from the image. I'm very surprised nobody has made copies, at least that I could find. I found others, though.
Top Left: Sold on Amazon by Alexander Castle & Etsy by CelticStudio. Top Right is from Celtic Crystal Design Jewelry. Bottom Left is also from CelticStudio. Bottom Right is from Scotclans. They are all sterling silver, and the Scotclans one has a Heathergem brand gemstone. My favorite is the Scotsclan one, because the gemstone is interesting and adds a nice splash of color.
Option 2: Become Yorick. So- I found this image.
I have spent so long trying to find the painter and a copy of the painting but all my searches come up with nothing. I can't even find a similar looking painting, and the original pin I saved gave me nothing. Anyway, we're recreating this look, essentially. I'm thinking paper mache, but fashion people might know an easier way to go about this.
Now, for the actual outfit, we have two options. We COULD just wear an Elizabethan outfit like I posted above, which would match the painting a lot with the ruffled collar, but I also had the idea to look up what people of the era buried their dead in, and the answer typically "sheets" so i found two examples of what this could look like-
I think Jason would find some humor as dressing up as a strange zombie in some way. My only issue is that it becomes a giant white blob with the white skull and white silk outfit, and what he's referencing might be a bit lost without Elizabethan costuming.
Anyway, let's chat brooches. I already listed the Luckenbrooch options, but I also thought about stepping back and referencing more general theatre theming, aka the comedy/tradegy masks.
Left: Vintage Copper Iconic Comedy And Tragedy Mask Brooch, selling on Etsy by VintageObjectsShoppe. Middle: (Gold) Bronze Tone Comedy and Tragedy Theatre Mask Brooch, the link says it's on Poshmark but I can't get the link working. Right: Vtg Comedy Tragedy Masks on Copper Brooch Pin.
I like the bronze/copper/gold tones, and I couldn't find a C/T mask brooch that involved diamonds or gems/jewels without feeling too busy.
Also Shakespeare did wear a golden hoop earring, so no matter what he's wearing, if you like Piercings, he is wearing a golden hoop. Something small, no detail. Example:
Earring from Wolf & Badger.
Lastly, his shoes. I had two options, one white and one black. The white is only for the bed-sheet-inspired outfit.
Left: Louis Vuitton Fall 2020. Right: unsourced. I couldn't find anything remotely similar. I tried to find similar looking shoes, with specific details that made them stand out.
-
Ever since I had the idea, I personally LOVE the idea of Jason going as Yorick. I think he'd have a lot of humor with it. I like it best paired with Elizabethan attire, but I wanted to throw out all my ideas. I think all of the jewelry I found could easily be found in the Vault/Collection. I think a combination of any Luckenbrooch + any Theater Mask Brooch would look nice, too.
Tim Drake represents the Art-Form of Photography. This topic was easy to choose for him since that's one of his few not overly-exaggerated personality traits that's unique to him. This one was also hard to find pictures for that gave me ideas as to how I was to articulate this theme. Then, when I had some ideas, it was hard to find pictures that reflected that.
Doing that all while trying to make something that felt like Tim would wear.
[link to intro post]
Let's start with hair. Tim often has these very distinct bangs, which I immediately knew could be found on Kpop idols a lot (middle part long bangs), but then I found this picture for an alternate styling. I like either one.
Onto the outfits-
Unlike with Dick, where I immediately knew he'd be wearing a toga or something similar, and then had to choose accessories based on that - with Tim I started with the accessories first. So lets start there-
The Left is being sold on Poshmark and called "fun black and silver camera bag." I tried finding the original posting, but only found Temu so idk. The Right -I think- could be from Etsy, but the images don't exactly line up. I saved Right, thinking it could be fun as a pocket-watch style attachment.
The Left picture is by Chen Shih Kang from Taiwan, called the Carl Zeiss Sunlens Creative Focus. I can't find a source in any capacity for the glasses, only reposts on pinterest without any (helpful) commentary. While I like the Left picture, I though maybe instead of blue glass on the Right image, it could be that lens from the Left.
Now, to the outfit. I was recommended this outfit on my pin feed while in the middle of wondering how I was going to implement a wider history of cameras into the outfit.
I like it because I think it looks like the cloth/fabric that old photographers had to cover themselves with while taking cameras. I put an image beside it to show what exactly I mean. This cape would be the outermost layer. The embroidery from Urban Threads, named Vintage Camera Border. This could be cool detailing around the hem of the cape, maybe also the suit. I like the colors on this already, and I don't want this outfit to be super monochrome which is a bit difficult when basing everything over a black suit and black cape.
I was trying to implement photographs, however, not just cameras. Then, I found this kind of dress-
The Left image is what most people wearing this sort of dress is referencing. It's from 2004, and the model is Gisele Bündchen, and the pictures the dress is made up of are of her. This was for Esquire Magazine. I somehow can't find the model for the Right image, but I wanted that picture because she's wearing pants. I looked for so long for just a skirt version of this, but couldn't find any. I thought this could look cool layered over Tim's suit pants.
I also found this-
When researching this piece, the name Ruth Lozner popped up a lot, but I couldn't load their webpage. The phrase "STORMY" and "GRAFFITI" also appeared. Maybe that's the collection?
I don't think this meshes well with the skirt idea, but maybe? Either way, It'll layer well with the suit & cape above. Again, they could use pictures taken by Tim and somehow transferred to the veil by whatever means necessary.
Now, I found brooches-
The Left Brooch is Vintage Jomax Pavé, Rhinestone Supernova Starburst Brooch Pin. The Right Brooch is CINER, Vintage Starburst Brooch Pin, Gold Metal Rhinestones, Costume Jewerly. Both are being sold on poshmark. I think these look like camera flashes.
Lastly, shoes.
These are Saint Laurent Paris, Duckies monk strap shoes from SS14. I like the buckle and silver details, it's subtle but the rest of his outfit is so black monotone I felt it would help break that up ever s slightly.
-
Tim's outfit is all about layering. The suit, then the skirt and/or veil, the cape. I also didn't find a lot of jewellery, but other sorts of accessories.
Cassandra Cain represents the Art-Form of Preforming. This was another easy and obvious choice due to it being a canon hobby. This outfit will obviously focus on ballet.
I don't feel the need to cater to other aspects of "preforming" such as opera and circus preforming. Which, I Just Found Out counts under Wikipedia as a "Preforming Art" so wow, okay. I guess Dick had other options. lol.
[link to intro post]
Let's start with the hair. Once I got to this part, I realized I hadn't done hair for the others, lol. Well, that's fixed, now. Anyway, i found this picture and I think it's perfect.
Now, for the outfit I'm have two options.
The Left is fom Givenchy Spring/Summer 1999 Couture, titled "Embracing Reality", designed by Alexander McQueen. The Right is from The Atelier Couture, designed by Jimmy Choo, from 2025. I like the princess-like skirt in the Left image, and the sharp neckline bodice, and the shoes are amazing. The second image is structural, elegant, and so detailed.
Now, for shoes. Obviously pointe shoe inspired-
I feel like I'm missing a lot of context for this image, considering half of it is cut off and looking at the "RSVP" link it sends me to the most nothing-burger of a website which shows fashion runways and photographs, but doesn't claim to be anything more than a media-group-thing. I love the shoes, though. They'd go well with the higher hemline of the Right option above.
Now, for the jewelry.
Left: Carved Multi Gemstone 14 Karat Gold Flower Diamond Stud Earrings, listed on 1stDibs. Middle: Opal and Sapphire Necklace, listed by PAVIABoutique on Etsy. Right: Hydrangea garden bridal necklace - Style #2531, from Twigs and Honey. Bottom: Lisner Pink Rhinestone Flower Necklace Screw Back Earrings Set Vintage | Etsy, link broken.
I like how the jewelry above isn't exactly on theme, just pretty. Cass is already dressed up as a ballerina. Also, it's not necessary, since I had the idea for a charm bracelet. Perhaps this is personally owned by Cass, with a charm for her favorite ballets (maybe she preformed in them, maybe she's just seen them in person?).
The issue being... I don't know much about ballet, much less specific details or characters that could be transferred to a iconic charm. Much less an actual charm, or even small trinket, for visual representation. But here is my attempt for 6 ballets I know at least something about-
Top Left: Roman Spindle by Hughes Bosca. Top Middle: Festive Nutcracker Charm, sold on Etsy by BeautifulCharmsnMore. Top Right: 8 Butterfly and Flower Garland Rhinestone Charm, sold on etsy by nicoledebruin. Bottom Left: Antique Tambourine Charm, was sold on esty by jujubee1. Bottom Middle: New 14k Yellow Gold Swan Animal Charm Pendant, sold on Ebay by by Diran's Jewelry. Bottom Right: Bunny Charm by Goldmakers Fine Jewelry.
So, the Roman Spindle is a reference to Sleeping Beauty, the Nutcracker... references the Nutcracker. The Swan is for Swan Lake. The bunny is the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. The Tambourine is for Esmerelda. The Garland is my attempt at referencing Giselle, since Giselle is crowned the Harvest Queen in act one and I saw a flower/wheat crown on the character's costume on wikipedia.
I wan to give an honorable mention to Cinderella. I briefly saw that as a famous ballet but I couldn't find a picture of her shoe in the play so I don't know if it's a pointe shoe or other kind of slipper. Instead of figuring that out, I realized I already had 6 options and that's an even amount of pictures so I'm giving it a honorable mention here.
-
Cass's princess-ballet take on Performance focuses more on the silhouette of a ballerina with her necklace from the Family Vault and and bracelet being her own belonging.
Duke represents the Art-Form of Cinema. I gave Duke cinema because of one wiki which said he was a film buff who likes Quentin Tarantino. Now, somehow, in the middle of researching multiple things at once for my pin board and notes for this project, I realized that I read that and mixed up Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese. Not that this affects the outfits, much, but take that weird and funny moment.
[link to intro post]
So, let's start about hair. Somehow, it was very difficult to find a hairstyle that remotely looked like his appearance in comics.
I had lots of trouble with this outfit. I can't explain why, but I couldn't pin down a single aesthetic I wanted. This is why there is such a gap between my last post and this one. But, I think I've settled on a nice aesthetic.
Top Left: Ralph Lauren Glen-Plaid Double-breasted Blazer. Top Right: Either from SnazzyLair article, "29 Men Fashion Styles Types: A Guide to Looking Sharp" or FuckingYoung article, "Street Style: Pitti Uomo 87 - Day # 3." Bottom Left: I can't find the picture, nor another angle of the same outfit. However, it was labelled on Pinterest as Pitti Uomo January 2020, so it might be from a Winter collection, or someone who in some way is connected to the brand at that time. Bottom Right: Sterling St. Jacques (c. 1951 - 1992), who is known as the first Black male supermodel.
So, I want Duke in this formal coat & suit style, paired with a beret and maybe even the scarf. I want the suit formal, so leaning less away from St. Jacques's sweater and t-shirt under suit from the Right images and more towards the Left images. I personally like the coat worn on the shoulders, too, rather than worn "normally".
Let's talk details and accessories-
The Top Right image of lace is the Rustic Boho Cotton Eyelet Lcae Trim, sold on Etsy by BoldEagleTrims. The Bottom Left is a Women's Cream and White Belt, sold on Depop. The Bottom Middle is from the Extra Petite article, "Coat Styling Tips: 2 Ways to Tie a Sash Belt." The Bottom Right is from the Madga Butrym, but otherwise unknown.
I want to incorporate some sort of lace detailing that resembles film reel. Imagine something like the top two images combining for the affect I'm imagining. That lace will be in three places on the coat: the collar, the sleeves, and the belt. The Bottom Left image combines with Middle, to give a mental image for what the belt would look like. The Right image has both a solid example as to where the lace would be on the coat. (ie- sewn/stitched onto the collar and sleeves.)
The Top Left is a coaster from Zazzle, while the Top Right is a close up, cropped, image of the Hollywood Walkof Fame icon. The Bottom is from can2print on Etsy, the mini clapboard for miniature film making. Either the coaster or the icon would be a good pair of cuff-links and set of button covers, while the clapboard would be a cute tie clip.
Last up, I have some brooches for Duke to wear. First, this requires an explanation. It wouldn't be a good reference to film-making without a specific person, character, or film in mind. Now, in canon Duke loves Tarantino, but I preferred to look instead at Sidney Poitier. Sidney Poitier was the first Black actor to win the Best Actor Academy Award in 1964, for his role in Lilies of the Field in 1963. He also won a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in the same year for that same role. So, I thought perhaps a Lily brooch would be a nice reference to the movie's title. I found a couple of options-
Top Left: [HoshibakiWorks] The White Lily Brooch from Forest Girl Clothing. Top Middle: Tiffany & Co. Old Mine Diamond Enamel Flower Lily Brooch Pin 1900 Antique Gold, found on First Dibs. Top Right: Vintage Swarovski Gold Plated Crystal Memories Lily Brooch, posted on Etsy by CuriocollectiveFinds. Bottom Left: Mesh Lily Brooch, found on poshmark. Bottom Middle: Oversized Ivory Lily Brooch, Suede-Like Foam Flower Pin, posted on Etsy by NataliBrooches. Bottom Right: I found an Etsy link, but the etsy listing doesn't actually have that item, so unknown. The pin says its Silk.
So, the top three would have crystals, diamonds, and were generally smaller. The bottom three would be non-precious material, such as faux-suede, mesh, and silk. I think the larger ones on the bottom layer would be good on his suit lapel, at the risk of being covered by the coat. The smaller ones would be good on his beret. I like the swarovski option and mesh ones out of the two styles.
Now, for the shoes-
These are Jacques Solovière Paris, called Oli Brown. I like the shape and I ultimately chose brown colors as opposed to black because I felt it just matched the vibe better. Also, it's something different than the regular black mens shoes with minor detail differences like what the rest of others got.
-
This one took so damn long because I kept changing my minds. Originally, I wanted Duke in a bomber jacket instead of a general suit, and had a completely different brooch in mind that just looked nice and didn't actually provide a reference to anything. I'm much more happy with this aesthetic I've pulled together for him.
Stephanie represents the Art-Form of Music. Honestly, Steph's role slot in only when the obvious choices filled themselves in. However, she has become one of my favorite ones. I just needed to keep it purple and find which way to tackle such a general concept as music.
[link to intro post]
First, obligatory hairstyle comparison. I like this elegant updo-
For the outfit, I decided to pay reference to how people have shared music throughout the years, and the technological advances of the 20th and 21st century. I couldn't choose every single way, but I tried to hit major technological advancements.
This is an interesting piece. I've sourced the image to an Italian Vogue article from March 2026 which has a very long title, but summarizes to a woman named Laura Biagiotti has spent her life collecting the works of Giacomo Balla, and had a private showcase of Balla's work. This dress is cited to be from 1997, I think, but it doesn't have a specific name, season, or title linked to it from a larger collection.
Once I chose this image I had two realizations almost immediately. 1) I could not find an image of what the front looks like, so theoretically for my purposes it can be whatever I want! 2) Where is the PURPLE??? This is a Stephanie Brown look, custom-made in universe. She needs and DESERVES purple!
So, what if the Balla-Biagiotti outfit was actually an oversized suit jacket? She can wear a purple dress underneath it. It wouldn't be the so saturated as the usual shade she prefers, but rather a pastel shade to match the lighter colors of the "Suit." I found three options-
Left: Erin Fetherston's Spring 2009 Rready-to-Wear runway, look 29/36. Middle: Giorgio Armani Prive's Spring-Summer 2018 Paris, Haute Couture fashion show. Right: Badgley Mischka Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear, look 30/27.
I want the dress to be shorter or even to the hem of the "coat" so i'm sticking to dresses that look to be a similar length. The Left could be interesting, though, if the bottom sticks out underneath the coat. (or maybe horrible, it's hard to tell, lol)
Continuing the purple, I thought maybe a pair of purple tights and shoes could look nice. (Also, if you hate the dress idea, here is your purple fix for the outfit.)
Source: Nodaleto posted this image on instagram back over 300 weeks ago. (I'm not sure why instagram doesn't use dates like a normal website. I don't use it, anway.) They are called the Bulla Jones.
Now, onto the accessories. Much like Tim's outfit, I wanted to pull from a variety of eras in music. Her dress already plays with the shape of a typical string instrument, so I wanted to reference more modern and technological advances related to music in the 20th and 21st centuries.
The top image is Fabhatter's Made-to-Order Rockabilly Vinyl Music Record LP Hat with Beaded Fringe. Bottom Left: I couldn't source this iamge properly, but one of the pins I found calls this "Bouton de la collection "Muisque" (fall 1939)" Bottom Middle: Earrings made from Recycled cds (or dvds?), sold on Etsy but the link was broken so I don't know the seller. Bottom Right: Silver Music Note Necklace Pendant by HandmadoJewelry.
The bottom three are details added to the "suit-dress." The button is obvious. The earrings could be cufflinks, oversized like the dress, or maybe lapel pins. The Key would also be a brooch/pin on the lapel.
Next, the bags. I found a lot of difference options but think this is a nice subtle option.
This is the Hermès Plume Radio Brown Leather Bag, Fall/Winter 2026 Menswear Collection. It's inspired by a boombox and I think just like Jason and his skull purse Steph could have a lot of fun carrying this around.
Now, I want some bag charms and decor.
Top: I could not source this scarf exactly, but the pin says this is Für Elise and not just random notes. Top Left: Sold on Etsy (broken link), Victorian Gramophone, Artistan Embellished by Jill Dianne. Top Middle: "It's a Wrap" Cable Tidy from Mustard. Top Right: Juicy Couture MP3 Player Charm. Middle Left: Heart Silver Disco Keychain from MiamiDesignShops. Middle Middle: Aliexpress, Luxury Music Box Keychain. Middle Right: Custom Music Keychain - Microphone by EdFuchMusicGifts. Bottom Left: Juicy Couture Accordian Bracelet Charm. Bottom Right: Juicy Couture Jukebox Charm.
So, let me explain my choices. There are a few charms that reference how music has been shared throughout the ages. IE- The Gramophone, cassette, mp3, and juke box. The others are just fun charms I found that reference music in some way. My goal is to look cluttered, but not hide the subtle boombox design on the bag.
Now, last but not least- earrings and necklaces. These would also be the ones borrowed from the Wayne Family Vault.
Amethyst Beaded Necklace Set, sold by SigolJewels on Etsy. I really like the shape, I think it's very unique. It's very purple, and closer to Steph's signature shade. This set has a matching necklace, earrings, and pendant. I think the pendant could be on the opposite lapel to where the key pin went.

What took longest with this was having the time to source all the charms I collected on my pin board and narrowing down which ones I like most. I don't have a lot of free time in my personal life right now, and trying to source images from Pinterest is surprisingly difficult. Or, not so difficult if you know how infamous that website is at housing stolen images (and now AI! yay! /sarcasm). I love the website but holy shit, man.
Another challenge is my general concern over mixing a majority-green coat-dress with purple. I can't NOT have purple, obviously, but I personally rarely find an outfit where I like the color combination. So, it was a tricky balance for me but I like what I figured out!
