Joker was always being hunted, shot at, and chased in car chases. Yes, you were always with him, and it technically was your job to sacrifice your life for his if it eventually came to such a point, but Mr. J had switched the roles. A gunfight had broken out in Mr. J's club. You'd repeated yourself at least ten times, yelling at Mr. J to get him to either leave or get down. Instead, he managed to switch roles and send you rolling under a table to watch him get shot in the shoulder. It goes to say that you were as pissed as you were worried, seeing that your greeting to him later was a sharp punch to the stomach followed by a passionate kiss.
Captain Boomerang:
Digger was used to being in the line of fire, and was less than worried when he took a shot to the leg in a less than pleasant robbery. You, on the other hand, upon discovery of his wild adventure and injury, panicked in the most subtle way possible. Unfortunately, subtle in your dictionary was drive over to his house at 2am, kick down the door, scold him, and then proceed to break down crying.
Deadshot:
In his line of work it was not unusual for him to be hunted in return, as was the occasional "battle-wound". You, on the other hand, found yourself worrying more than you should've. Death was a difficult enemy of mortals, not you, therefore you were entitled to the worry and fear that accompanied the blossoming of your relationship. Needless to say, you had him on a house lock-in for quite some time after his shoulder had been shot clean through. (snuggles were very much included)
El Diablo:
Injuries in battle were hard to avoid, as were near death experiences. You watched in horror as Chato shoved the ancient being towards the location of a lethally powerful charge. When it went off, you were nowhere to be found for a good few seconds. The team was confused until they heard you sobbing from behind the blasted ground, cradling an unconscious, severely injured, but alive Chato.
Killer Croc:
Waylon, bruised an battered after the battle with Enchantress, was pleasantly surprised when you body-slammed/bear-hugged him to near death. You'd never been so worried in your entire life, and although the injuries he sustained were little, your entire being was telling you he was gonna die. It was hard to explain that he was okay through your mix of blubbering and cursing.
Harley Quinn:
When Harleen freed you from your solitary-confinement room, she was not herself. You were happy to see her, but the joy was quickly overrun with worry when you spotted the two burn marks on either side of her temple left behind by what you knew was electroshock. Concerned, you questioned her like an officer would a criminal until she gave out and let you tend to her wounds before fleeing the cursed institution(no regrets there).
June Moone:
June's well being meant everything to you, any moment you felt she was in danger you try your hardest to keep her from it. But mental damage was something you could not fight, or shoot. June was tormented nightly by the dangerous being using her as a vessel, and it broke you to know that you could not do anything about it. Instead, you did your best to comfort her: held her close, calmed her with kisses, and gave her the love she needed to mend her broken soul. With your love, June felt the power to face anything.
Enchantress:
The mortal soldier held your love's heart in his hands, threatening to crush everything you loved for something he loved. When she refused, your eyes flashed with panic. The soldier began to crush her heart, causing her to shriek with unbelievable pain. Terrified of losing the only person who saw you as a blessing, you snatched the heart from the soldier in a bolt of light. In the flash of light, time slowed around you, giving you just enough time to sway Enchantress' spirit from the human girls body and into one you summoned from your own power. You and your lover backed away from the mortal and his human lover, happy to be safe.
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Floyd's affection runs deep beneath his hardened exterior, though he struggles with showing it in conventional ways. Having grown up with an emotionally distant upbringing and spending years as a professional killer, physical touch and verbal expressions of love don't come naturally to him. You'll notice his care in the practical things - he remembers exactly how you like your coffee, ensures your car has gas, and always checks that you've eaten. When he does reach out to touch you, it's deliberate and meaningful: a hand on your shoulder when you're stressed, fingers briefly intertwining with yours during a quiet moment, or the way he'll unconsciously position himself between you and any perceived threat. His military training and protective instincts mean he shows love through vigilance, always scanning rooms when you enter together and keeping mental notes of exit routes.
The man who "never misses" paradoxically struggles with hitting the mark when it comes to emotional vulnerability, but you've learned to read his unique language of affection. Floyd shows he cares through his actions rather than words - he'll spend hours researching something you mentioned in passing, fix things around your place without being asked, or simply sit in comfortable silence while you work. When he does verbalize his feelings, it's usually in moments of high emotion or when he thinks he might lose you, his voice rough with unused sentiment. He's more comfortable expressing affection through providing and protecting than through cuddling or constant verbal reassurance, though he's slowly learning that you need those softer moments too. His religious background sometimes surfaces in quiet prayers for your safety, and you might catch him fingering the cross he wears while watching you sleep.
B= Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Floyd would be the kind of best friend who takes a long time to trust you completely, but once he does, his loyalty runs deeper than most people could ever imagine. The friendship would likely start in an unlikely place - maybe you're someone who works adjacent to his world without being part of it, like a bartender at a dive he frequents, a nurse who treats his injuries no questions asked, or even someone he meets during a brief stint in county lockup. You don't judge him for his profession, and more importantly, you don't try to change him or preach about his choices. Instead, you offer him something he rarely gets - genuine human connection without strings attached. He'd be drawn to your authenticity, the way you treat him like a person rather than the notorious Deadshot, and slowly, those brief encounters would turn into longer conversations where he finds himself actually looking forward to seeing you.
As your best friend, Floyd would be fiercely protective of you, sometimes to an almost unsettling degree. He'd never directly involve you in his work, but he'd make damn sure you're safe - whether that means quietly eliminating threats you don't even know exist or simply being the person you can call at 3 AM when everything falls apart. You'd be one of the few people who gets to see him without his armor, both literally and figuratively. He'd show up at your place with takeout after particularly difficult jobs, not wanting to talk about what happened but needing to be around someone who reminds him he's still human. You'd probably be the only person besides Zoe who could make him laugh genuinely, and he'd treasure those moments of normalcy you provide. Floyd would remember every important date, every small preference you mention, and while he might not be great with words, he'd show his care through actions - making sure your car is always running smoothly, that your neighborhood stays safe, and that you never have to worry about money if times get tough.
C= Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
Floyd isn't naturally inclined toward physical affection - you've noticed how he tenses up when people get too close, the way he pulled back from Flag's congratulatory hug with that uncomfortable grimace. But with you, it's different. He's learned to crave the quiet moments when you're both settled on his couch, your head resting against his shoulder while he absently traces patterns on your arm. He likes being the one holding you rather than being held - it gives him that sense of control he needs, the ability to protect what matters to him. His embraces are firm and secure, like he's anchoring you to him, and there's something almost reverent in the way his calloused hands smooth over your hair.
When you do manage to coax him into being the one who's held, Floyd becomes surprisingly vulnerable. He'll rest his head on your chest, listening to your heartbeat with the same focus he applies to lining up impossible shots. Those biblical verses tattooed on his gear might hint at his faith, but in these moments, you become his sanctuary. He's quiet during these times, sometimes going long stretches without speaking, just breathing you in and letting himself believe - however briefly - that he deserves this softness. You've learned that he sleeps better when you're there, his usual hypervigilance finally easing as your fingers card through his hair. It's in these stolen moments of peace that you see past the consummate professional assassin to the man who just wants to be worthy of love.
D= Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Floyd has complicated feelings about settling down. Part of him craves the stability and normalcy he never had growing up, especially when he sees how much his daughter Zoe means to him. When he's with you, those quiet domestic moments - watching you make coffee in the morning or seeing you curl up on the couch - stir something in him he's not used to feeling. He wants that life, wants to come home to you every night instead of living job to job, but he's also terrified of bringing his dangerous world into your peaceful one. The guilt from his past and the ever-present threat of his enemies finding him makes him hesitant to fully commit, even though every fiber of his being wants to build something real with you.
Floyd is surprisingly capable around the house, though he approaches chores with the same methodical precision he brings to everything else. He's not naturally domestic, but he's observant and learns quickly - he'll watch you cook once and remember every step, replicating it perfectly the next time. Cleaning becomes almost meditative for him; there's something soothing about the routine and control of organizing his space. He's the type to deep clean his weapons while you're doing laundry, finding odd comfort in these parallel domestic rituals. He'll never admit it, but he secretly loves grocery shopping with you - it feels normal in a way his life never has, pushing a cart while you debate dinner options, pretending for a moment that this is just who he is instead of the feared assassin the world knows him as.
E= Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
Floyd would struggle with the breakup conversation for days, knowing he cares too deeply to just disappear without explanation but also knowing his lifestyle makes any real relationship impossible. When he finally sits you down, he'd be uncharacteristically quiet at first, fidgeting with his hands before looking you directly in the eyes - because despite everything, he respects you too much to be a coward about it. He'd be brutally honest in that matter-of-fact way of his, telling you that you deserve someone who can actually be there for you, someone who won't drag you into his dangerous world or leave you wondering if he's coming home alive. "This ain't about not caring," he'd say, voice rougher than usual, "it's because I do care that I gotta let you go." He wouldn't make promises about staying friends or keeping in touch because he knows clean breaks hurt less in the long run, but he'd make sure you understood that walking away from you is one of the hardest shots he's ever had to take - and Floyd Lawton never misses what he's aiming for, even when it's breaking his own heart.
F= Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
Floyd approaches commitment with the same calculated precision he brings to everything else in his life. You'd find that he doesn't enter into relationships lightly - his past divorce and the pain of being separated from Zoe have made him deeply cautious about opening his heart again. When he does commit to you, it's with the full weight of his loyalty and protection. He sees commitment as another form of contract, but this one is bound by love rather than money. The man who never misses a target also never breaks a promise to someone he truly cares about. You'd notice how he starts including you in his long-term plans, talking about the future with a certainty that both surprises and reassures you.
As for marriage, Floyd wouldn't rush into it, but once he's certain about you, he'd want to make it official relatively quickly. His time in Belle Reve has taught him that life is unpredictable and precious moments shouldn't be wasted. You'd see him wrestling with the timing - part of him wants to wait until he's completely free and can give you the life you deserve, while another part recognizes that his dangerous lifestyle means tomorrow isn't guaranteed. He'd likely propose within a year of being together, not out of impulsiveness but because he's methodical about recognizing what matters most. The ring would be simple but meaningful, and he'd want Zoe's blessing before asking you. His proposal would be private and heartfelt, acknowledging both his past mistakes and his commitment to being the man you and his daughter deserve.
G= Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionaly?)
Floyd's gentleness is a study in contrasts - while his hands are trained instruments of precision and death, they become impossibly soft when they touch you, as if he's afraid his callused fingers might somehow taint something pure. He speaks to you in low, careful tones, never raising his voice even when frustrated, because he's seen too much violence and refuses to let any echo of it enter the space you share together. Emotionally, he's like a man learning a new language; his gentleness comes out in small, deliberate gestures - the way he'll text you throughout the day just to make sure you're okay, how he always walks on the side closest to traffic, or the reverent way he holds your face when he kisses you goodbye, as if memorizing every detail in case it's the last time. He's hyperaware of his own strength and the darkness he carries, so every gentle touch, every soft word, every moment of tenderness is a conscious choice - his way of proving to himself that despite everything he's done, he's still capable of being something other than a weapon.
H= Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Floyd's relationship with hugs is complicated, much like everything else about him. You've noticed how he visibly tenses when people try to embrace him - it's not that he doesn't want the comfort, but years of being a professional killer have made him wary of letting anyone get that close to his body. When Rick Flag tried to hug him after saving the world, Floyd immediately backed away, making it clear he's "not a hugger." But with you, it's different. He's learned to tolerate and even crave your touch, though it took months of patience on your part. His hugs are rare gifts, usually reserved for moments when his emotional walls have been thoroughly worn down - after nightmares about his daughter, following particularly difficult missions, or when he's overwhelmed by the weight of his choices.
When Floyd does hug you, it's with the same precision he brings to everything else. His embrace is firm and protective, arms wrapping around you like he's trying to shield you from the world that's taken so much from him. There's always a slight tremor in his hands at first, as if he's fighting his instincts to pull away, but then he melts into it with surprising gentleness. You can feel the tension leave his shoulders as he buries his face in your neck, and sometimes you catch him whispering apologies - for his past, for the danger he brings, for not being the man he thinks you deserve. These moments are sacred to him, and he holds onto them like ammunition for the darker days ahead.
|= I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
Based on Floyd's character, he would be incredibly slow to say "I love you" - possibly taking years. His walls are built impossibly high from a lifetime of loss and guilt, starting with accidentally killing his brother and culminating in losing custody of his daughter. You'd see him show love through actions long before words: the way he memorizes your coffee order, how he unconsciously positions himself between you and potential threats, or how he keeps a photo of you tucked away like he does with Zoe's picture. When those three words finally do slip out, it would likely be in a moment of raw vulnerability - maybe after a nightmare about losing you, or when he thinks you might not make it through a dangerous situation. The admission would probably surprise him as much as it surprises you, followed immediately by him trying to deflect with sarcasm or dark humor because emotional intimacy terrifies him more than any target he's ever had to take down.
J= Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?)
Floyd's jealousy runs deeper than most people would expect from someone so seemingly controlled and professional. When he sees another man getting too close to you or making you laugh in a way that lights up your whole face, something cold and calculating settles in his chest. He doesn't make scenes or throw tantrums - that's not his style. Instead, he watches with those sharp eyes of his, memorizing every detail, every gesture, every word exchanged. His jaw tightens almost imperceptibly, and his fingers drum against whatever surface is nearby in that precise, rhythmic way that anyone who knows him would recognize as a warning sign. Floyd's jealousy is quiet but intense, like a sniper waiting for the perfect shot.
When Floyd's jealous, he becomes more possessive in subtle ways that might go unnoticed by others but are unmistakable to you. He'll position himself closer to you in social situations, his hand finding the small of your back or intertwining with yours with just a little more pressure than usual. He'll insert himself into conversations with whoever's caught his attention, not rudely, but with that particular brand of confident charm that makes it clear he's staking his claim. Later, when you're alone, he'll pull you close and kiss you with an intensity that speaks volumes about what he was feeling. "You know you're mine, right?" he'll murmur against your ear, his voice low and rough with barely contained emotion. It's not really a question - it's a reminder, both for you and for himself, because despite all his skills and confidence, the thought of losing you terrifies him more than any target ever could.
K= Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Floyd's kisses are surprisingly tender despite his hardened exterior. When he kisses you, there's always this moment of hesitation first - like he's still not quite sure he deserves this softness in his life. His lips are warm and slightly chapped from the dry prison air, but when he finally commits to the kiss, it's with a quiet intensity that speaks to how much he treasures these rare moments of intimacy. He's not one for flashy displays of affection, but his kisses linger, as if he's trying to memorize the feeling to carry with him when you're apart. There's something almost reverent about the way he holds your face in his hands, thumbs brushing across your cheekbones as he pulls back just enough to look at you.
Floyd gravitates toward kissing your forehead - it's protective and gentle, the kind of kiss that says "I've got you" without needing words. He also loves pressing soft kisses to your temple when you're curled up against him, or to the crown of your head when he's holding you close. As for where he likes to be kissed, Floyd melts completely when you kiss that spot just behind his ear or along his jawline. He's not used to being touched with such care, so when you press gentle kisses to his neck or chest, especially over the cross he wears, he goes completely still - not from discomfort, but from the overwhelming realization that someone sees past the killer and loves the man underneath. Those quiet moments when you kiss his knuckles or the inside of his wrists make him feel more human than he has in years.
L= Little ones (How are they around children?)
Floyd has a surprisingly gentle side when it comes to children, especially after becoming a father himself. You notice how his entire demeanor shifts when kids are around - the hard edges soften, his voice drops to a quieter tone, and that trademark sarcasm disappears completely. He's naturally protective, positioning himself between any potential threat and the children without even thinking about it. When your nieces and nephews visit, he'll awkwardly crouch down to their level, letting them examine his tattoos and ask endless questions about his "cool job" (which he vaguely describes as "security work"). You catch him slipping them candy when he thinks you're not looking, and despite his claims that he's "not good with kids," he somehow always ends up being the one they gravitate toward. His strict moral code about never harming women and children extends to an almost fierce gentleness around little ones - as if he's trying to be the kind of man he wishes he'd encountered in his own troubled childhood.
M= Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
Mornings with Floyd are quietly intimate affairs where he shows his softer side that few people ever get to see. You often wake up to find him already awake, sitting on the edge of the bed with a cup of coffee, staring out the window in that contemplative way he has when he's thinking about Zoe or processing something heavy from his past. He's not much of a talker in the early hours, but his actions speak volumes - he'll wordlessly hand you your own mug prepared exactly how you like it, press a gentle kiss to your temple, and pull you close against his side as you both watch the sunrise together. These quiet moments are sacred to him, a stark contrast to the chaos of his professional life, and you can feel him physically relax as he absorbs the simple peace of being with someone who accepts all parts of him - the father, the killer, and the man trying to find redemption somewhere in between.
N= Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Nights with Floyd are quiet and intimate, filled with the kind of peace he rarely finds elsewhere. You'll often find him sitting by the window, methodically cleaning his weapons while you read nearby, the comfortable silence between you broken only by the soft sounds of his maintenance routine and the turning of pages. He's not much for grand romantic gestures, but he'll pull you close when you're watching late-night movies, his calloused fingers tracing absent patterns on your arm while his mind seems miles away - though you know he's completely present with you. Sometimes he'll share stories from his past in hushed tones, the darkness making it easier for him to open up about the weight he carries, and you've learned that these moments of vulnerability are precious gifts he doesn't offer to just anyone. When sleep finally comes, he sleeps lightly, always alert, but there's something about your presence that helps ease the tension in his shoulders, and you'll wake sometimes to find him watching you with an expression so tender it takes your breath away.
O= Open= (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
Floyd doesn't open up easily - trust is something he's learned to ration carefully after years of betrayal and loss. He'd start small, testing the waters with minor details about his past while watching your reactions closely. Maybe he'd mention being in the military first, since that's something he can frame as honorable service rather than the darker truth of what came after. He'd reveal his daughter Zoe relatively early though, because she's the one pure thing in his life he's genuinely proud of, and how you react to learning about her would be a crucial test of whether you're worth his time. The criminal history, the body count, the real reason he's in Belle Reve - those revelations would come much later, probably during moments of vulnerability when his guard is down.
The deeper, more painful truths would emerge in fragments over months or even years. He'd never sit you down for one big confession - that's not his style. Instead, you'd piece together his story through offhand comments, nightmares that wake him up calling out apologies to his brother, or the way he unconsciously touches the cross at his neck when he's struggling with guilt. Floyd would reveal things when circumstances force his hand or when something triggers a memory he can't shake. He'd watch for signs that you're pulling away, ready to shut down completely if he sees judgment in your eyes. The fact that he accidentally killed his brother, the twisted jobs he's done, the real extent of his reputation as the world's most wanted hitman - these would be the last walls to fall, and only if he's absolutely certain you won't abandon him when you learn who he really is.
P= Patience (How easily angered are they?)
Floyd has remarkable patience when it comes to you, almost unnaturally so for someone with his temperament. While he can be quick to snap at employers who disrespect him or show irritation with incompetent teammates, with you he exhibits an almost saint-like tolerance. You could interrupt him during his workouts, ask him to explain the same thing multiple times, or even accidentally mess with his equipment, and he'd just give you that steady look of his and calmly address whatever's happened. His patience with you stems from the same protective instinct he has toward his daughter - you're someone he genuinely cares about, so the usual triggers that would set him off simply don't apply. However, his patience does have limits when it comes to your safety; if you're being reckless or putting yourself in danger, that's when you'll see his composure crack, not from anger at you, but from fear of losing someone else he loves.
Q= Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
Floyd would remember absolutely everything about you - every casual comment, every small preference, every story you've shared. His sniper training has conditioned him to notice and retain details that others might overlook, and when it comes to someone he cares about, that attention to detail becomes even more pronounced. He'd remember that you mentioned liking a particular coffee shop three months ago, or that you casually said you were thinking about getting a haircut. Floyd files away these seemingly insignificant moments because they matter to him, because *you* matter to him. His daughter Zoe is proof of how deeply he holds onto what's important - keeping her letters, her picture, remembering every word she's ever said to him.
The way Floyd shows his care is through this quiet observation and memory. He wouldn't make a big deal about remembering that you don't like crowded places or that you have a thing for old movies, but he'd subtly arrange dates around these preferences. When you're surprised he remembered something you mentioned in passing, he'd just give you that slight smirk and shrug it off like it's nothing - but internally, he's cataloging every reaction you have because understanding you completely is how he expresses love. Floyd's not the type to forget anniversaries or important dates either; his military precision extends to his personal relationships, and disappointing someone he cares about by forgetting something important would go against everything he stands for.
R= Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
Floyd's favorite moment in your relationship is that quiet evening when you didn't ask him about his past, his scars, or the darkness that follows him everywhere. You simply sat beside him on the couch, your head resting on his shoulder while he cleaned his guns in comfortable silence. When Zoe called, you handed him the phone without hesitation and quietly left the room to give him privacy, returning later with coffee and a gentle smile. In that moment, watching you accept every part of his complicated life without judgment or fear, Floyd realized he'd found something he never thought he deserved - someone who saw the man behind the mask and chose to stay anyway. It wasn't grand or dramatic, just pure acceptance, and for a man who'd spent his life being defined by what he could destroy, having someone who valued what he could protect meant everything.
S= Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Floyd's protective instincts run deep, honed by years of military service and the painful lesson of losing his family through his own mistakes. He's the type who notices every exit in a room, memorizes the faces of strangers who linger too long near you, and keeps a mental catalog of potential threats. His protection isn't loud or showy - it's precise and calculated, like everything else about him. He'll position himself between you and danger without making it obvious, his hand finding the small of your back to guide you away from situations that make his instincts prickle. When he's away on missions, he ensures you have security measures in place, though he's careful not to make you feel like you're living in a fortress. His military training means he thinks three steps ahead, anticipating problems before they materialize, and his marksman's eye extends to reading people's intentions from across a crowded room.
What Floyd craves in return isn't physical protection - he can handle himself in any fight - but emotional security and unwavering loyalty. He needs to know that you see past his reputation as a killer-for-hire to the man who reads bedtime stories to his daughter and wears a cross under his tactical gear. Your protection comes in the form of defending his character to others, standing by him when his past threatens to overshadow his present efforts to be better. He finds comfort in your consistency, in knowing you won't run when things get complicated or when Amanda Waller's manipulations try to use you against him. The way you refuse to flinch when he tells you about his darker moments, how you ground him when guilt over his brother's death or his time away from Zoe threatens to consume him - that's the kind of protection that actually keeps him safe from his own demons.
T= Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
Floyd would put surprising effort into the meaningful moments, though he'd downplay it with his typical sarcasm. For dates, he'd research your interests meticulously - the same precision he applies to his hits now channeled into finding that perfect restaurant you mentioned months ago or tickets to something you'd love. Anniversaries would catch him off guard emotionally; he'd have planned something elaborate but struggle with the vulnerability of it all, probably making a self-deprecating joke while presenting you with something incredibly thoughtful. His gifts would be either perfectly practical or deeply personal - no middle ground - like custom jewelry with hidden engravings or that book you've been hunting for everywhere. Everyday tasks would be where his true feelings show; he'd handle things without being asked, fix problems before you even notice them, and remember every small detail about your routine. He'd grumble about being domestic while secretly taking pride in taking care of you, the same protective instinct he has for Zoe now extending to making sure you never have to worry about the little things.
U= Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Looking at Floyd's complex character, some of his worst habits would likely stem from his criminal lifestyle and emotional walls. You'd probably find yourself frustrated with how he compartmentalizes everything - he can switch between being a loving father and a cold-blooded killer without seeming to process the contradiction, which creates this unsettling disconnect in conversations. His need for control would manifest in smaller ways too, like insisting on handling all financial decisions or needing to know your exact whereabouts at all times, not necessarily out of jealousy but from his professional paranoia. You'd notice he has trouble with genuine emotional vulnerability - he might share surface-level feelings but clam up when things get too deep, falling back on sarcasm or deflection rather than having real heart-to-heart conversations. His perfectionist tendencies would probably drive you crazy in everyday situations, like obsessively organizing his weapons or getting genuinely irritated when things aren't done with military precision. And despite his moral code about not killing women and children, he'd likely struggle with truly understanding why some of his past actions were wrong beyond just "the job is the job," showing a troubling ability to rationalize violence that would create tension in your relationship when you're trying to help him grow as a person.
V= Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Floyd maintains a certain level of pride in his appearance, though it's more about professional presentation than vanity. You notice he keeps his facial hair meticulously groomed and his clothes well-fitted when he's not in his Deadshot gear - there's something almost ritualistic about how he prepares for both civilian life and missions. He's not the type to spend hours in front of a mirror, but he understands that looking sharp is part of his reputation as an elite assassin. When you compliment his appearance, he'll give you that trademark smirk and make some sarcastic comment about "keeping up appearances for the clients," but you can tell he appreciates that you notice the effort he puts in. His concern isn't about being the most handsome man in the room - it's about looking like someone who has his life together, even when everything is falling apart around him.
W= Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
Floyd would absolutely feel incomplete without you. Despite his hardened exterior and professional detachment as an assassin, you've become the anchor that grounds him in ways even his love for Zoe couldn't fully accomplish. You see past the sarcasm and tough attitude to the man underneath who's carrying the weight of every life he's taken, every moral compromise he's made. With you, he doesn't have to pretend to be just the consummate professional or the devoted father - he can be vulnerable about his fears of never being worthy of real love, his guilt over the path his life has taken, and his deep-seated need for redemption. You've given him something he thought he'd lost forever: the belief that someone could love him not despite his darkness, but while helping him find his way back to the light. Without you, he'd return to that hollow existence where he was simply going through the motions, living only for brief moments with his daughter and the mechanical precision of his work. You've shown him that he's capable of being more than just Deadshot the assassin or Floyd the father - he's a man worthy of love, forgiveness, and a future that doesn't have to be defined by his past mistakes.
X= Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
When you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed, Floyd has this quiet way of just being there without making a big deal about it. He'll sit beside you, maybe clean one of his guns or just stare out the window, but his presence is steady and reassuring. He's not one for flowery words or dramatic gestures, but he'll occasionally reach over and squeeze your hand or brush his thumb across your knuckles. Sometimes he'll tell you stories about Zoe - funny things she said in her letters or memories from when she was little - not necessarily to cheer you up, but to remind you that even in the darkest situations, there's still something worth holding onto. His voice gets softer when he talks about her, and you realize he's sharing these precious moments as his way of letting you into the part of his heart he guards most fiercely.
Random headcanon: Floyd secretly practices origami in his cell using pages from magazines or old letters. He learned it from a cellmate years ago and finds the precise folding motions help calm his mind and keep his fingers nimble. He's gotten surprisingly good at it, able to create intricate cranes and flowers from memory. Sometimes he'll leave a small paper flower on your pillow or tucked into your jacket pocket - never with fanfare or explanation, just his quiet way of saying he was thinking of you. When Zoe visits, he always has a small paper animal waiting for her, and she's started a collection on her bedroom windowsill at home.
Y= Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)
Floyd wouldn't tolerate anyone who puts his daughter at risk or tries to manipulate him through her - that's an absolute line in the sand for him. He'd be turned off by someone who's reckless with other people's lives, especially innocent civilians, since his moral code about not harming women and children runs deep. You'd lose his respect quickly if you were fake or tried to play psychological games with him; he values straightforward honesty and can't stand manipulative behavior after dealing with Amanda Waller's tactics. He wouldn't be compatible with someone who's overly clingy or demanding of physical affection, given his clear discomfort with being touched and his need for personal space. Floyd would also struggle with a partner who couldn't understand or respect his profession - while he's not proud of being a killer, he needs someone who can accept that part of his past without trying to change him or judge him for it. He'd be particularly put off by someone who's loud, dramatic, or attention-seeking in public settings, preferring to keep a low profile and blend in. Most importantly, he wouldn't be able to handle someone who couldn't accept that Zoe will always be his first priority, no matter what.
Z= Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
Floyd's sleep is restless and light, shaped by years of hypervigilance as both a soldier and assassin. You notice he never fully relaxes, even in the safety of your shared bed - his hand instinctively reaches for the space where his weapons would be, and the slightest sound can have him alert in seconds. He sleeps on his back with one arm free, a habit from prison where he learned to be ready for anything, and you've grown accustomed to the way he sometimes mumbles fragments of conversations with Zoe or apologies meant for people long gone. The cross he wears catches moonlight as his chest rises and falls, and you've learned that the nights when he holds you closer are the ones when the weight of his past sits heaviest on his shoulders. Despite his tough exterior, there's something vulnerable about watching him sleep - the lines of worry smoothing from his face as he finds brief peace in the darkness, your presence serving as an anchor that keeps the worst of his nightmares at bay.
Notes: I write for various versions of these characters as well. For example, I’m fine with writing the Keaton, Bale, or Pattinson version of Bruce Wayne.

i literally love him but all the other Deadshot headcanons/stories are all of the live action and im??? i gotta provide and sustain my thirst for this man jfc i’ll likely put up some Copperhead headcanons too, but for now have this lovely man at 3 in the morning
Deadshot (from Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay) headcanons underneath the cut!
Deadshot/Floyd Lawton:
No doubt loves you with all of his heart, but due to him being a mercenary, it’s difficult to reveal the affectionate side of him
Does not like PDA; he’s more of a withdrawn man in the public eye, but it’s also worth noting that if he’s seen with you, his enemies will not hesitate to exploit this weakness (similar to Bronze Tiger)
Fiercely protective of you and Zoe - however this trait is so strong that you and Floyd get into arguments about safety often
Hardly has time to himself, though when he does he dedicates it all to his family
In closed doors, when he is sure that the house is secure and no one is spying, Floyd opens up his shutters
Loves to hold you close to him, engulfed in his arms, secure and protected, no words needing to be spoken
Doesn't like to admit it, but he enjoys it when you hold and caress his hands - no doubt has calluses all over, but Floyd finds the action incredibly soothing and it relaxes him
Kisses are rare - when they do happen, it's commonly a soft, quick kiss on the lips that leave you craving more
Smiles when you and Zoe spend time together, be it helping her study or playing that specific sport she adores
You know how strained the relationship between the father and daughter are, so you sometimes find activities to help them bond; cooking, send them walking at the park, picking up groceries, small things
Goes to you when he needs advice, specifically on how to reignite the bond he had with Zoe
Teaches you self-defense and how to wield a gun, likely gives you your own pistol if you're okay with it coughcoughoryourownsetofarmgunswheeze
Both you and Floyd invented a game: whoever shoots the most bottles wins and the loser has to do whatever the winner wants for the day (Floyd always wins, but he never asks much or without your consent, besides you get a sharper aim)
During cold nights you cuddle and bury yourself into the warmth of Floyd's side or chest, something he finds utterly adorable
Family game nights, but be aware, they can get competitive
Also family movie nights - the most common genre in the house is action and horror, and when the jumpscares happen Floyd only rolls his eyes and states that he'd never let a supernatural spirit in a ten feet proximity of either of you
Sometimes you ask him of the missions he's had to do, most are quite intriguing, but you lost your shit when Floyd revealed the story of Dr. Fate
Will 100% keep you away from Amanda Waller, no contact whatsoever and keeps you hidden from her predatory view
If you're caught? Then Floyd will keep a living breathing promise of reducing Waller to a bleeding mass of shredded flesh if she even has the thought of hurting you
Keeps you away from the entire Task Force, the only exception being Bronze Tiger, who has more than proven his fair share
Fucking hates Harkness, but when he, by pure chance, happens across you and starts flirting, Floyd gets jealous
Needless to say, Harkness knew not to fuck with you if it meant he gets to avoid another round of shattered bones
Floyd can be quite flirty when he's drunk, though all of his compliments are heavily slurred
He's between letting his actions speak for him or using his own words, either way he'll let you know that he cherishes you every day
