WEEK 5: "DISEASE" + "DECOMPOSED" | 7 Deadly Parasites Infection AU
(character name + pronouns: Marionette, she/they)
Story:
Poor sweet Marionette. She was so competent and so confident in her own abilities; always had been. Stitched and sewn to perfection by their parents, and for a while, the perfect specimen was what she was. All undone in an instant on that fateful day, like a snagged loose thread capable of unravelling everything.
Devastated and traumatized by what they saw unfold on that operating table, she fell to the floor, believing her friend's demise was all their fault. She stared forward, her vision a panicked blur and their pounding brain felt like it was bleeding in their skull; a pain so terrible she thought her head was going to split just like Pierce's right then and there.
Kneeling in front of her and cocking his head, Marionette felt a wave of nausea hit her in the throat as one side of his bisected face drooped slightly lower than the other, strings of dripping red gore barely holding the two halves together. "What's the matter, Doc? I've never felt better! You should feel PROUD of what you've done!" Pierce praised them, promoting his parasite-piloted pride, his voice came out slightly distorted as his two halves spoke in tandem. "Oh god, you're right.. this is all my fault.." Marionette whimpered dryly, her monotone voice gripped in a chokehold of fear. "I can never show my face again, I'm a fraud.. worse than a fraud, i'm a fucking monster.."
"A monster? Is that what you think of me too?" Pierce replied with a crooked brow, and an even more crooked smile. "Dollface, you should know more than *anyone* not to fear monsters.. you've always been one." The parasite spoke in his voice to scare her more personally, proving horrifically effective as she stared at her former friend with tears streaming down her face, gut punched and heartbroken, and slowly falling into the murky blackness of this parasitic corruption, as their friend's presence spread his contagion to them like a virus.
Since that day, she isolated and imprisioned herself in her lab, falling deeper into misery, apathy, and infection as a parasite all her own crawled inside and took hold, filling their thoughts with death as it rotted her brain and molded their skin, eating away at her like worms feasting on a cadaver. They could barely be classified as alive anymore, just a miserable sulking corpse drowning in mistakes and blame. She wasn't a person anymore, they were rot.
While digging a lake on our land, my family found the bones of an ancient Irish elk!!

A couple years back I found a lawnmower abandoned in the woods. I like to come back to it sometimes just to look at how much it’s been overgrown.
