Salute to my brother from another mother @misterstovetop for this design. He’s also a fellow @wearedelasoul Supa fan. We kept texting back and forth on De La Day: “What song are you on right now?” “I’m on this song, and you?” We were super music nerds and listened to the albums in chronological order. (Anyone else nerd out like us?) We’ve been talking about De La Day since we heard they got their masters back and are gonna re-release them. We were more geeked about this than the day that De La released ALL their music for free. Because we knew that the ENTIRE world was about to witness the art of the Supa Emcees. Plus feel the vibrations of the Native Tongues movement. As Dave Chappelle eloquently put it. “De La Soul were the Big Bang to a lot of beautiful sh!t.” They were and they raised us and as I look around and I see my friends grown with their own families and STILL holding those vibes to heart and raising their kids on those same waves it lets me know…. That De La raised us right! The native tongues raised us right. Think about all the people that chose art and their nerdy creative side and spent their money “on equipment, necessities AND VIDEO GAAAAAAAAAAAMES!!!” (If you know where that’s from you’re a true De La fan.) I truly hope that the world ALSO see’s what they’ve meant to us and they share those same things that we learned from their art with the people around them and in turn pass down those vibrations to others. The world NEEDS more De La Soul and Native Tongues in it. I want to know who’s gonna produce the 3 day Native Tongues festival? All those NT artists and the ones of todays current music realm that they feel represent those same vibes. I think it could be blockbuster. Ok, going back to listen to more De La and native tongues family. Everyone share them with everyone around you it’ll make the earth a better place. De La Soul's back catalog of music is finally being made available on streaming platforms today (March 3rd, 2023)! I'm excited!

Good morning Everyone! I hope that you’ve been having a wonderful year so far! It is #BandcampFriday & #DeLaDay (more on this below) and I’d love to be sharing some new music right now like I’d been planning since late last year, but unfortunately, ill health has scuppered those plans for now. I have quite a few bits in the pipeline, some of which is finished and ready to go, but others, (including the next single) aren’t there yet (in fact, I was literally in the middle of recording the vocals for it when I got sick for the nth time since October with a sinus infection that knocked me out for 2+ weeks and counting, and I know with all my being that this is the one I want you all to hear next. I can’t find the words to express how frustrating this is, but for me, the order of releases matter, especially when you want to tell a story, and you’ve poured your heart and soul into bringing the sounds and words in your head to life. In the meantime, I want to thank you for waiting patiently if you’re looking out for new music from me, and I sincerely hope and pray that when it arrives, it’ll have been worth the wait! If you pray, I’d totally covet your prayers for health and rapid recovery and they’re received with sincere thanks! Shout out to @jammy.dodga who’s been looking after me and our poorly little one over the past month, you are incredible and you’re demonstrating what “in sickness and in health” means, even when you’ve been poorly during this time too. I love you! And if you’re looking for good music and to support independent artists today, get on Bandcamp and make it happen if you can! The platform waives its fee from midnight to midnight PST, so artists and labels are able to recoup 100% of their sales! As someone who has benefitted from your generosity on these before, I know the difference it can make, so why not find someone whose music you love who has a new (or old) release you’ve not copped yet and make their day? I’ll be doing a separate post about some records I’m picking up today to support artists making music I love to listen to/play, so look out for that on my social channels.
