Delicious pie! (a redraw of 2019 art)
Tawog Recipe For Disaster is one of my favorite comics, hands down.
Indulge in the classic campfire treat with a twist! This S'mores Pie features a graham cracker crust, layers of chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows, all topped with a creamy vanilla-infused filling. It's a delightful dessert that captures the essence of s'mores in a pie form.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows. 1 cup heavy cream. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F. Combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and graham cracker crumbs in a bowl and stir until well combined. To make the crust, firmly press the graham cracker mixture into a 9-inch 23 cm pie dish. After 10 minutes of baking in the preheated oven, take the crust out and allow it to cool slightly. Evenly distribute half of the chocolate chips across the crust. After the chocolate chips, arrange half of the mini marshmallows on top. With the leftover marshmallows and chocolate chips, repeat the layering process. The heavy cream should be heated in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer, but not boil. After taking the cream off of the stove, whisk in the vanilla extract. Over the layers of chocolate and marshmallow in the pie dish, pour the hot cream mixture. Return the pie dish to the oven and bake for a further five minutes, or until the marshmallows on top begin to brown. After taking the S'mores Pie out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes and then refrigerate it to set for at least two hours. You can give the pie's top the traditional s'mores look by torching it with a kitchen torch before serving. Enjoy your delectable S'mores Pie after you slice and serve it!

This Heirloom Tomato Pie with Eggs is a delightful savory pie that celebrates the flavors of ripe heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil. The combination of cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, and eggs creates a creamy and flavorful filling that perfectly complements the sweetness of the tomatoes. It's a wonderful dish to savor during tomato season!
Ingredients: 4-5 ripe heirloom tomatoes, sliced. 1 pie crust store-bought or homemade. 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese. 1/2 cup mayonnaise. 2 eggs, beaten. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. Place the pie crust in a pie dish and crimp the edges. Layer the sliced tomatoes in the pie crust, overlapping slightly. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, beaten eggs, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Pour the cheese and egg mixture over the sliced tomatoes, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the pie is set and the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve your Heirloom Tomato Pie with Eggs warm or at room temperature.
