LIBER DE SATANAS TEXT 10 . . . Regarding The Summoning Of Demons
There is a strong belief within some Occult Circles that unless the Conjured Spirit appears within Invocation or Evocation Rites then the Working has failed on some level ~ I say now with utter conviction that this is a nonsense utilized by the Sorcerers of the Right Hand Path to deter those who seek to summon Demons and do not manifest them on their initial attempts. After over thirty years of Practice within both the Arts of Evocation and Invocation I can say without any doubt that successful Conjurings manifest in many ways and on many levels ~ visual manifestation, changes in temperature and atmosphere within the Ritual Chamber, upon the vista of the Subconscious mindscape, through Automatic Writing, scent, sounds, within dreams and other less noticeable gestations. Many of the Old Occult Texts were written with conditions and observations in mind to put off the less scholarly or educated persons of the time from following a path into the Occult Arts or Magickal practice. This is one of the reasons the persecution of Witches has been so excessive in times past as Witchcraft is found upon a far more raw and earthy form of Magickal practice easily learnt and perfected by even those who could not read or write and of lower class. Occultists such as the likes of Agrippa, Dee, Mathers, Waite, Crowley and others I believe deliberately added pedantic tasks prior to Ritual Workings, endless Magickal observations even stretching at times to length or Ritual Candles and the favoured Cardinal points etc to deter those lacking in education, knowledge and literary ability from delving into the Magickal Arts! This matter shall be touched upon again later in Liber de Satanas but for now it is suffice to say that Spirits from other realms - at least in the case of Demons - are not interested whether your Altar is set up in the East or the North, the mathematical calculations of the size of the Ritual Circle, days of the week or hours of the day. These are human made creations and hold no power in the realms beyond our own mortal dominion. But on the topic of Conjuring Demons it must be said with great clarity that when Evocations and Invocations fail to produce a physical or visual manifestation this does not mean that the Rite of Conjuring itself has failed. Over the years I have worked extensively on the practice of Demonic Evocation and found that the most potent of these Workings are carried out with the Demon manifesting on the realms of Communion that reside within the subconscious but also on spheres between our mortal world and the realms of Hell. This is a stygian plane which in many ways is the subconscious of the Abyss, the Subconscious mind of Satan Himself. There have also been Evocations however which have produced no immediate result but have later produced vivid and at times prophetic dreams and waking dreams or resulted in the Conjured Demon gaining temporary control of the mind to dictate messages through Automatic Writing or directly within the mind itself. Other Rites have only shown manifest results through temperature changes, burning hot residue left where the Ritual Pentacle has been placed or even visions and sounds, but all of these Workings whatever the level of Demonic manifestation have proven successful in their outcome. Do not be deterred by the lack of visual manifestation in your Rites of Evocation or Invocation, it is not necessary to a successful Working, no particular one sign is ~ you will, through time and experience, discover the signs that indicate to you that a Working has been successful or not. Magickal rules - like moral and ethical rules - are for the consideration of the Right Hand Path Occultist, not the Left Hand Path Sorcerer and Satanist who answer only to the primal laws of Our Father Satan!
